You forgot my version which is like #1 except before the first stall I drop the bike and crush my hand with the clutch lever and pin my leg under the engine guard, accidentally lock the throttle and have the bike violently do about six revolutions horizontally which doesn't help because in the end I'm still facing the same direction.
that was both funny and painful to read. i am still in the phase of disconnecting the rear abs of my africa twin to be able to block the wheel and slide a few meters....so, step 0.1 i think
It can seem a joke, but you are correct, as when turning right you can not paddle and cover the brake pedal at the same time, some of the drills showed in the video are actually impossible turning right, you have to learn directly the more advanced version where both the feet remain on the peg.
Exactly, what was the most comfortable yet most secure way of turning around each time FOR HIM. I guess that he did a sitting turn no leg drop, slow and steady, no dust and no unnecessary chances. But who knows, he could have did a 180 on his front tire.
@@terbo_111 really tho - the progression of the skills is so accurate, and the fun part of the end is such a great reward for putting in the work. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
Spectacular...Shaun what a Skill ride....When I was a kid ( i,m 56 ) I spent months doing these exercises ... the eight, the elephant's ear, the pendulum .... I have to buy myself a Tenerè, really nice bike....Greetings and Ciao from Nortwest Italy.
Always remember in order to succeed in these be prepared to drop your bike over and over. I started on grass in a field so when it fell I knew neither the bike nor I would be seriously hurt. Just my ego because I still can't do the elephant turn 🤣 Great fun trying though. Great video👍
I’m a road bike user and never taken a trail ride in my life but after watching this video it seriously makes me contemplate what my next motorcycle should be... (I originally wanted a Yamaha XSR700)
I have a Yamaha xsr700. It's amazing! But I also have an xt250 for the dirt. If you have the space that's what I recommend. Those two bikes combined are still cheaper than an adventure bike and they're more purpose built
From step 6: did You hold a little front brake or just lean the bike and open a throttle? Is it so easy also on an asphalt with normal road tires? TC is off I assume
Hi Tomasz, no I don't use the front brake after coming to a stop. Lean the bike, add throttle then drop the clutch. Would definitely be harder on asphalt due to traction levels The T7 doesn't have TC, but yes, on bikes that do have TC you would turn it off.
You don't have to apply front brake for an spin turn on the pegs, but if you can manage everything that's happening and add a little front brake after the transition, it will certainly give you a little more control.
I’m wondering how easy it is for short riders to do the 90 degree and 180 degree turns? No way my legs are that long to reach the ground and support the pivot. A big bike is likely going to tip over
James the progression is easier to learn and explain going left due to the rear brake pedal being on the right. Learning the skills doing left turns is the way to go, then do it going right
Hello, those looked great. I used to be able to do those turns on my little wr250. But I feel like I'm gonna drop my t7 when I try this. Ive got a knobby on, if i just feed it more power will it shoot out from me or will it potentially work for me, im worried ill drop it on myself.
I think its my destiny to have a tenere one day, they look so fucking amazing and perform perfectly. You are a very lucky man, give her a rev for me please :)
GREAT VIDEO...!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 PLEASE upload MORE...on other maneuver skills too..!!!!! btw I'm your NEW SUBSCRIBER... 😀👍...... Keep it up bro. With lots of love, From INDIA.🇳🇪
Very nice! I ride a 1090R ADV and can barely touch the ground with my toes :-) And even though I can make all the tricks on my MTB (with shoes firmly clicked-into the SPD pedals), I cannot find the confidence to do the same on my KTM just standing on pegs... :-D
Is this all done with or without the use of front brake? If the front brake is used is it being dabbed? or just a soft pull? for the elephant turn I would love some in-depth commentary on how its done.

wow that sounds full on! hope you were able to get up and keep going
Ok. I think I'm still on step 0.5
😏
ikr, hate it when my bike fall and explode before I pick it up and have to stole another one ;
Ugh sir lol

My mind : "You can do it"
My Brain : "Don't even think about it "
😆😂🤣
My bike: "Ffs, he tried it. Now pick me up please"
My cruiser bike refuses to start when I am thinking about it.
Nice skills! Now you gotta go it all turning right 🤔
In England and Indonesia, it's necessary
Bro just reverse the video. It will go right.✌🏼
Yes!
He can only turn Left like Zoolander

Now the real question is, how did he turn around behind the camera?
There were 14 riders standing ready, so no turns behind the cam.

0, 180 & 90 turn
He just kept moving the camera
the best tutorial ever.. no talk just action.. straight foward..got to nail those elephant turn
First you gotta find a perfectly graded gravel road like that. I've never seen gravel so groomed! ;-)
True, great to learn on then transfer the skills to riding when out bush
small loose stones (2-3cm gravel) are also very good for this and predictable
Come to Kansas
I wait until I find a gas station for turning back
Great skills there mate! The tight elephant was beautiful. I need to nail that one.
Cheers man.
lean your body outward, youll be surprised how much more you can push that way and not fall
I have to admit, beautiful presentation ! Really impressed.
I'm not all of these...yet. I love that you stalled twice in the beginning for realism. 😁
I used to do the brake slide everytime on my old scooter, made me feel like a movie protagonist
Still not tired of rewatching this video :D
could be the best moto video I've ever seen.
Thanks Dave.

OMG! You're the Goat! I gotta learn these turns
i went from 5 years of trials riding and never being on an adv bike straight to number 6 very happy about that

What a truly beautiful bike that T7 is!!
Hey man, great video! Seeing the progression is helpful. It would be great to see more vids on how to go about learning this and other offroad skills.

@@ohanaross-roberts97 What are you confused about
Dude I hit the sickest elephant turn yesterday on my klr650. Making these big bikes slide around is soo fun and it looks crazy to others🤣
That was very good and fun to watch. I'm still between 1 and 2 haha. Lots to learn!
+ 1 🖐️
Thanks for the class. Nice tips. Strong hug from Brazil.
Cheers 🤙🏼
Great progression demos. Worth watching. Saved for good. Thx.
That slide was sooo cool

Very cool adventure bike
The range of skills this rider has....why ain't more views?
Im use to dirt bikes.. its handling the extra weight . Im accustom to 140kg duelsport. Might take a little while to get use to the extra momentum.
one of the best video i can find
3 minutes of peaceful content
thanks for sharing, i just knew that there's lot of technique can be done

Nice, I like this, gives a idea of where I can go and shows me how to get there. Thanks man. Currently at stage 5.
Do you apply the front brake too when doing the spinning turns on the pegs? I always feel like i pick up too much speed and start to run wide

Too good !!!very well shot and explained
what gear are you in for the slides? do you feather the clutch? show us big power slides next.th anks

Oooh, nice thanks for the tuto, next step is to get an adv because I’m not doing this on my XJ6 Diversion lol!
nicely shit and edited my dude.I shall share this with my ADV buddies that are plucking up the courage.
I just bought the t7. What kind of boots should i buy to train these skills?
Always go for the best protection you can get. Motocross boots like Sidi Crossfires or Alpine Star Tech 10 are some examples
@@terbo_111 i will follow you advices. What about knees protections? Brace or acerbis ?
Excellent video. No nonsense, pure beautiful content. Loved it.

Do you use your front brake in the beginning when throttling?
No I don't use the front brake
Nice demonstration, in my city the gravel is stick to the ground, if you try the bike will go like a rocket on the first stone under the wheel 😅
I'm at the sitting with confidence stage. I can do a u turn on a 2 lane highway, which is good for me because I miss my turns quite a lot.
Solid turns! Gotta add the pivot turn now😅
Hey, well executed! You forgot no hands.😂
Great video guide, thanks !!
Are these turns exclusive to adv bikes or could I practice these on a sport bike?
Your tires wouldn’t enjoy that though... :/
Surfaces matter
not about about sport, by my TDM 850 on street tires was easier to power slide than big adv bikes 😂
Practice indeed pays off. Nice display of useful skills.

Very well done demonstration. Thanks a lot
That makes me smile👍

Im on the edge too.. Ktm890r adventure is a bike I will prefer tho.
Yep but for now it's the Royal Enfield himalayan

I’ve been working on that for quite some time, but I’m getting better.
Thanks for the video though!
Good, I still keep practicing when I can, to make sure I get them smoother and more precise
👏👏👏 great video! i want to see the bloopers now
Nice. Try that on the pea gravel in WA 😎

can you do the spin turn on asphalt or does it only work on offroads im asking because i have a naked street bike it'll be cool to learn that

i am at #3 lol. granted i haven't tried on gravel yet, even though I have an ADV. i wanna get to the 180 you did eventually that looks awesome

Should I buy an Africa Twin or a Tenere :(
did not know that Tenere was in SA, fun watching
Dave not in SA, I'm in Australia.
Thanks :-)
I don't why he thought it was South Africa, it's Western Australia to be exact.
Wow, cool. Many interesting skills
This is inspirational, I my new to dual sport and I am a paddle walker and dabber depending on the conditions. 😂
I do that with a 1200 gs. With 5 '3 " and a wheely and stopy also . no problem . try that one
It took me a minute to see the WA plate. Nice work.
Amazing skills
