  • Most adventure bike riders will never progress off-road until they learn to transfer all their weight to the rear of the motorcycle while simultaneously lifting the front wheel. Sounds easy? In this video we'll show you the basic skills of controlling your throttle, as well as weighting the rear of the bike to loft the front wheel across surprise obstacles and rugged terrain.
This video is intended for entertainment purposes only and showcases a professional rider in a controlled environment.

Oh man, awesome stuff as always, thank you so much for these videos.
The more and more I practice and ride offroad, the more I realize that the key to traction is weight transfer and knowing when to load/unload suspension and wheels. Very often when our instinct is to shut the throttle, adding throttle to unload the front is actually the right move and you glide over a pothole that you would otherwise bite into.

Adam, the same thing happened to you when you were riding alongside Toby on the 1190's, i think you were filming the KTM rally and you lost it around a bend on old tyres, you straightened up and lopped it over a log in the scrub. Nicely done, awesome content. Can't wait to see more on the war horse. Cheers mate

Great video! I like the recent direction you are going with more "How-To" videos. Regarding this technique the big bike seems to require more technique to loft the front wheel than it does on a 450. For me, it works better if I have the engine spinning a bit before trying to bring it up, where as on a 450 will lift the front end right off idle.

Your ability to describe the dynamics and technique is fantastic. Even more impressive is how you break down the practice to get the techniques cemented. I've watched a few clinics by top hard enduro riders and they haven't quite broken techniques down as well as you are.
    I doff my cap, sir.
I'm a conservative rider and have confidence struggles trying to improve my riding, stuff like big logs across the trail. Got the technique but not the balls. A big log caught me out one day and I had to hit it on the fly, for some reason my brain focused on where I needed to be rather than fixating on the obstacle. In a blink I was over it like Toni Bou, I was more shocked than if i had crashed. Been my go to ever since, where do I need to put the bike after the obstacle?
