NOTE: Depending on when this video was made, you'll need to periodically check for the updated BepinEx 6 file. This is the Github link that will always show the latest version under "Releases".

Thanks so much for this video and your pay through testing the mods, these really are a game changer, especially the time management and peaceful mine one. I'm a very slow player and skittish with the predators, now I can relax without stressing about the time and while I'm foraging and checking out the island. If anyone gets hung up like I did, my computer didn't offer 'Extract Here,' so when I clicked 'Extract All' it created an extra folder layer. You can take out the items as shown in the video from that folder and place them directly into the desired spot, then delete the external folder. Hope that makes sense and helps somebody!

I notice value tool tip requires a few other things, would you do those the same way, just add to plugins folder?
The .Net 4.8 Runtime and .Net 6.0 SDK are two Microsoft programs that you should already have pre-installed on your PC. It's mentioned only to make sure anybody who have removed them for whatever reason update or re-install. I did not need to redownload or install those two items ffor the Value Tool tip to work for me. ;-) You should be fine just with the Bepin X.
So uh I swear to Christ about an hour after I finished your tutorial and got the game going with mods I actually got a JadeMist signed loading screen screenshot! It happened so fast and immediately after I finished your video that I thought I’d hallucinated it. But it happened again! Now I’m on the watch and will grab a screenshot. Not sure if there’s a joke I’m missing but I was thrilled to see ur name pop up meaning he must actually post and update those loading screens. 🎉 5:10

I don't have a steam deck but from what I've seen online, yes you can.

It's weird I did all of the steps required in the video, the mods show up on my main menu on the bottom left showing which are updated and not. But when I hop into game none of the mods are active.
Oh no, that's so weird. Make sure you check out the mods themselves to see if you have the updated versions and also make sure you have everything else they require you to have installed. Always look at the requirements tab in nexus mods.
Followed this instruction and when I open up the BepInEx folder after running the game it doesn't have anything but the "Core" folder. I deleted BepInEx and reinstalled in case there was a glitch and it still did the same thing. Any clue how to get the others to populate? TIA
Hi there! The common problem I'm seeing when that happens is that the wrong version of Bepin is being installed. Be sure to install the Unity Mono x64 version. Hope that helps!
@@JadeMistGaming Thanks so much for the quick reply. I checked and even re-downloaded to be sure. It is indeed the correct file. But still only the "Core" file when I run the game and exit out and check the folder.
That's weird. I'm looking online to see what could be the problem and the next thing to check is to make sure you're not downloading the x84 instead of x64 version.

@@theherolo2809 Make sure it is the BepInEx_UnityMono_x64_6.0.0-pre.1 file. This is the main reason why the folders don't populate after running the game. I just helped somebody trouble shoot in my discord and we confirmed 100% this is the correct file. github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases/download/v6.0.0-pre.1/BepInEx_UnityMono_x64_6.0.0-pre.1.zip
Does this stuff still work? I had to remove all the mods after the recent update, and now I can't even get BepinEx 6 to work right. It's been a couple months from the update, so I figured the mods would have been updated by now. Know where I can get some help? Or should I just give up on mods for a while?
It all depends on the mod itself. After major updates like the Summer Sun update, mods will have to be updated by the authors. Most of the mods stopped working with this last update so you'll have to check back on the nexus website to see if the authors have already updated their mods to work with the latest update. Also be sure to check if BepinEx received any updates. Best of luck!

Since my video came out a while ago, it's possible the bepin file I have linked may be older. I recommend always checking out the nexus website for the most up to date Bepin file. This is the latest one I show listed on the most recent mod: github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases/download/v6.0.0-pre.1/BepInEx_UnityMono_x64_6.0.0-pre.1.zip

@@melissar318 The new summer sun update for Dinkum has made lots of mods and files need to get update. Be sure you have the latest version of Bepin that I linked in the previous comment. :)

Each dinkum mod is different so it's hard to help with that. On the nexus website where you get the mod, there are specific forums where you can report the bug you're experiencing for that specific mod. The mod author can then take a look and see if it's an issue. Good luck!
I went to download the mod Value tooltips and it says I need .NET 6.0 SDK & .NET 4.8 Runtime. Do I need to download them
Those should already be automatically included on your PC depending on if you have an older or new PC. Try it without downloading and if the mod doesn't work, then go ahead and download them so your PC updates. :D

You dont need to back up your game you can just verify game files on steam and epic.
Even with verifying files, it's always good to back up your files. Especially your save files in case anything happens and it becomes corrupt. Last thing anybody wants is their save to be destroyed. It takes 2 seconds to copy and back up the save. Rather be safe than sorry. ;-)
why mods now do not work like when i open my inventory my arrow got stock.
Alot of moods have not been working with the latest game updates.

@@JohnFreAk02 Sorry to hear that. I personally try to avoid too many mods that will take away from the main vanilla game. The game is a wonderful game even without the mods. :)

I'm not sure since I don't know exactly what you are doing on your end. Be sure to follow each step. The nexus mods website also provides full written instructions on how to install everything.
same with me , after extrack bepinex then launch the game , load save file and exit the game , there is no other file show up like plugins folder on bepinex folder
@@kuroneko1189 Be sure you are downloading the correct version of Bepin. It should be the Unity Mono x64 version linked in the description but updates may come out. There are also links directly to it in the specific mod pages under requirements. Depending on when this video was posted the Bepin file in the description may or may not be up to date so be sure to get the current version as directed by Nexus mods. ;-)

Listen, I paid ONE time payment of like $80 up front in what, 2016? for a lifetime premium account on nexus mods and i've never looked back (For Fallout 4 modding back in the day) . Absolutely the best money I've every spent on the internet, still getting it's money's worth in 2023. 10/10 nexus mods

HA! I came here to say that I just finished installing the zip file.. and when I loaded my game so the mod folders could be made.. YUP It was a JADEMIST loading photo ;) how ironic is that hahah.

I had done this successfully on my PC in the past, but I cannot get the BepInEx folder to populate on my Steam Deck to save my life. I'm ready to pull my hair out! Does anyone know why it might not be working on my SD?
