  • This is a Trouble Shooting tutorial for chrome application. I'm using Akzentz Shine On, but the info in this video will be applicable to pretty much every top gloss and chrome powders.

The knowledge you dropped here is amazing. I haven't dabbled in chrome powders yet, embarrassing I know, but when I do I will be so prepared now. Thank you SO much!

Great information! I had trouble with this earlier this week. When I applied the chrome I had spots that didn't have anything. So I guess I over cured it. I'm definitely going to try some different times and top coats. Thanks so much for sharing!

    A very useful guide!
Although I seem to have a problem with the final gel top coat… for some reason after two days it kind of peels off in a thin film, leaving the powder exposed.

Excellent video with such great explanations for the how & why! Lesson learned is that every manufacturer no-wipe topcoat/powder produces different results with different cure times and you need to experiment with your topcoat/powder combo.
Robin, Would love to see you demo more common powders too such as Born Pretty & other brands found on eBay & Ali Express. Also please do a video addressing how to make it long wearing w/ no chipping. Thx :)

I cannot, still for the life of me, get the chrome not to chip- I dont have a problem with cure time, its adhering perfectly- just the overall wear of the chrome manicure without being hard to the nails. Ive watched a few things regarding non-acid binders. your thoughts? Help please!! :):

such a great informative video! thanks so much for this my holo pigment was sticking in certains places and not others. so did my mermaid powder or does that need a tacky layer? xx new subby

without knowing what products you are using, it's hard to answer your question. most powders work on your partially cured tack free to gloss.
