Small hint, if you ever need to translate something into German and the umlauts (Ä, Ö, Ü, ä, ö, ü) and the sharp s (ẞ, ß) are missing: Umlauts are actually shortcuts for putting an e behind the vowel. So if ä isn't available, it usually gets replaced by ae. For the capital versions, it's Ae and if the text is in full caps, it's AE. If there's no ß, you can use ss instead.
Anyway, great job! Now I regret using the English event a while ago :D

As a person who almost exclusively plays Pokémon in Japanese, I’m eternally grateful for this.

I absolutely love your work - Europe especially missed a lot of great stuff. The only pre-gen 4 distribution events in Italy were at an amusement park during the "Pokémon Day" celebrations, and I could never go there.

I've never been so mad that the e-reader never got distributed in Europe. I had to get hold of an Xploder to gain access to the Eon ticket and the other afk event-only items. Great video Blisy, thank you. ❤️
I actually made a comment on the last video talking about how I own all the games in Japanese, so I was wondering how or if the e-reader events would work for me. This video almost feels like a response to that comment.

A lot of the time, people don't tend to even consider languages other than English, especially for niche projects like this. You've already gone way past my expectations.

Could you do a video on printing and making these cards so average Joe's can get an idea of how to do it successfully. Thank you for the hard work and it's great to know that pokedexs in these games can be completed!
For a event what about adding other legendary pokemon or unique battles with trainers such as former champions or professor oak in unique locations in the games. Would love to be able to battle professors or former champions from other games or old rivals.

There's a LOT of links in the description... I'm struggling to find where I go to just print the e-reader cards off? Printing is mentioned in the video but I don't think it's specifically says where we find them
I've had a look on the github, but the only thing I can find under "printing" is one of the celebi cards, and it doesn't have the dot code on it... I get the impression from the videos maybe you need to print the dot code separately? It's pretty hard to follow, even as someone happy to go to silly lengths for this kind of stuff, haha.
A short video walking through how to access all the files and print one at home would be INCREDIBLY helpful. Or if anyone wants to sell them pre made, I'd be very keen
Amazing work, years ago I just hex hacked the text for the differnt language files, this is in a whole other level.
It was bizarre seeing the thumbnail for the Flying Beagle album in the corner at 1:51, as a person that listens to that album way too often in my car. Great work on all of this, it's fantastic to see other people creating their own 3rd party addons for these games two decades later!

When people say that Pokemon events will be temporary I love to send them toward your content. As long as our love lives so do these historical treasures.
Never had the chance to properly grow up playing the video games nor the anime, so when I bought with grifted money for my 22nd bday my very first 3ds to finally play all the games more legitimately than a mobile phone, it definitely felt like experiencing a childhood I never had. Wish I had more classic consoles to do this with!

Gosh dang it Blisy, that localization joke got me so bad.
funny thing, up to the ps3 generation, around 2008 there was little to no games oficially released in portuguese, so i literally had to grow up, playing games in english, while not understanding a single word of it.
when i did play hacked/pirated copies of the games, that did include a ptbr translation, it was really badly done, with english text appearing mid portuguese sentences, or worse, the entire game was in english, but SOME cutscenes had portuguese subtitles.
the worse offender was nintendo, because while they did sell and ship units for the brazillian market, it was ALL in english.
so it makes me kinda happy to see this kind of work, even if it doesnt include my language, people shouldnt go through the hardship i went through...

Speaking of Regi-Dolls e-reader card, is it possible to translate it to non-jp languages as well?
Record mixing between Ruby and Sapphire is language locked unfortunately. You can send it to English Emerald but it cant pass more than one degree of separation so it can't go to nonenglish Emerald from there

I don't even play Pokemon, I just watch these videos for the technical stuff.
As for the Japanese text issue, I think pre-DS games used a dumbed down encoding for Japanese characters. So it wouldn't register kana properly because it's technically outside the character range.
In some fonts, the Latin characters get replaced with kana. So it might just be needing to figure out what letters are tied to what kana.
It’s shift Jis encoding but my compiler doesn’t have it defined so I gotta manually do it

This is great, but there is something I'm wondering if you knew how to fix.
Due to the Card e Room being dummied out in the international releases, three Shadow Pokémon that were exclusively obtainable via e-Reader cards are not available in the localized versions. The Shadow Pokémon distributed via e-Reader cards were Mareep, Togepi, and Scizor.
I'm not sure how the e-read worked with Pokemon Coloseum. you were also supposed to get new arenas as well.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but where is the download link? I distinctly remember downloading an e-Reader savefile half a year ago and using that with a e-Reader rom.

My guesses for why the text is wrong.
1) Typo; : and " are right next to each other on most QWERTY layouts. So maybe they just never bothered to fix it.
2) The person making the card didn't have any reference for how text was typically displayed and they just needed someone to write the text for it, so without the context that in Pokemon games the characters have : after their names wasn't told to them and the localization team figured it wasn't that big of a deal since the ereader wasn't exactly flying off of shelves.
3) Maybe in an earlier version of the game's localization the symbol for " was : at one point, but was changed later in development and no one bothered to check since this particular part that needed to be done was already being printed.
I don't know how many pre-release copies of the games we have, but, all of the Pokemon game development that we were never meant to see is always so interesting. Although, I'm not too thrilled that a lot of what we do know was obtained illegitimately. (as opposed to people finding a random cartridge they had with a pre-release on it, and instead, the data coming from unauthorized access to Nintendo servers.)
Oh, and version 1.0 copies of Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green had a typo issue where the Pokedex entries wouldn't display the full Pokemon type. Pidgey was just Tiny Pokemon rather than Tiny Bird Pokemon. This was addressed in later revisions.

I've seen your short about it but some details don't quite make sense to me, and I'm not sure how much of the Ruby and Sapphire video applies to the Emerald one

Any chance of getting your events for emerald?
Unfortunately, the Nintendo E-Reader functionality was removed from Emerald, so the only way to get e-reader information to Emerald is to use the link cable to share data between Ruby and Sapphire (and this can only be done a certain number of times before it just doesn’t work).
Chuggaaconroy explains the process in one of his Pokémon Emerald bonus videos when he did the Eon Ticket event. I believe it’s bonus episode 2, if I remember correctly.
