I know this song is meant to be a critique of this kind of attitude, but I can’t help but feel like the line “We fight for justice, in a forgotten place, fulfill our duty, then vanish without a trace,” is vaguely inspiring. It’s like the motto of a professional soldier who truly believes in what they’re doing.

Obviously in the case of MGRR, they’re fighting for a mutant senator to take over America lmao, so the message of the song is certainly negative in that way. But still, I just find the idea of a soldier, so willing to sacrifice not only their lives but their status as an individual, all for something they truly believe in to be deeply moving. But as I said, whether it’s the right thing or not depends on what they’re fighting for.
I feel like aside from you and I there are very few people that actually find something inspiring and, dare I say it, positive in this song. Every single comment I've seen thus far about the meaning of the song says how it's criticizing the nature of conflict. And while I don't disagree with that (and certainly don't think these people are wrong), I personally can't help but be inspired by the song - the struggle, the devotion, the patriotism. Man, its 2024 and This soundtrack holds soo well, the pacing, the way the lyrics are used, the way of how EDM and Indutrial/Heavy metal mixes, honestly Best Video Game Soundtrack ever created and ever produced, and this is one of the many songs that proves how great this soundtrack is

What I like about this soundtrack is that it's literally patriotic music, so it makes a lot of sense for it to be epic and haste unlike some of the other Metal Gear Rising soundtracks. Nonetheless, it's all some of the best music I've heard in gaming in it's entirety.

Do you have the Beta Music for this game? If I could remember correctly every beta song is available in the game's files except Bladewolf's and Khamsin's beta theme (the one with less synths and robotic sounds)
Khamsin isn't exactly a "cyborg" like the others, he is more like a tank. The axe is presumably designed to smash through any UMG, or even multiple at once, in one hit rather than to actually beat custom cyborgs in a straight fight, and the primary function of the giant hull is to just about be able to control the axe. Even Blade Wolf, canonically the weakest boss that Prime Raiden goes up against, takes him out pretty easily because the agility of a post-SOP-era custom cyborg is shown to easily outmatch larger opponents. He would have been strong if the only threats on the battlefield were basic soldiers and Gekkos, but is out of place in a world where human-sized cyborgs can easily take out RAYs. This is possibly the theme behind his character - even though he is kind of evil, he possesses ideals of freedom and stewardship, which are liabilities for anyone who wants to be a soldier post-SOP. Maybe in the lore, he is the missing link between mecha and cyborgs: before single mercenaries could throw around buildings and take out entire armies with swords, there were mech-warriors like Khamsin, who used size rather than technique to dominate the battlefield. I think an unmanned version of the Khamsin mech, a "Sabre" equipped with a flamethrower and railgun, would be a good miniboss enemy for a sequel.
Who would win? A highly advanced alien mech hellbent to destroy and accomplish on the takeover of earth. Or A sentient and very angry M48 Patton tank from the 50s.
