Good to know a lot of these details. Sounds like all of the usual issues people run into with the MD Juan tubs. It seems that they haven't fixed a lot of the things people have been complaining about.

Thanks - yea the firewall by far is really disappointing .. with my amateur skills I really had to hack it up something ugly to make it work. Hopefully if more people draw attention to the issues they will take the feedback and implement changes.

I really enjoyed this video, I'm restoring a 49 willys and having hood aliment problems and you gave me some good ideas on bending the corners in! Great job thanks for the info!

Good luck with your project! Glad this was helpful. Yea the hood was tricky but it came out pretty good just had to tweak it in the right spots, just a little movement will go a long way

Bear in mind the hood block on drivers side is off set farther than the passenger's side to clear the vacuum wiper motor when windshield is lowered onto the blocks,if you are going to use the original vacuum wiper motor!Good job getting it to alighn up!

I have already added a past comment but I have one more Item to add. Since you are adding to your experience in repairing your '47 Jeep. I felt it necessary for me to say that it will be necessary for you to both mount, balance and have your jeep's front end aligned on a periodic basis. Alignment simply means to attach equipment for alignment, measure caster, camber and toe and then compare and adjust to Jeep's 1947 specifications. Unfortunately, many Owners of Jeeps overlook the alignment process and their tires quickly wear out. This can easily become expensive. My very best to you and success to you and to your '47 Jeep.

Caster and camber is preset with end of axle housing to steering knuckle with king pins and bearings, the only alignment I know of is toe in!

Thank you very much for your input regarding the work you’ve done. I’m impressed, you may wish to consider making your restoration program on jeeps as an Occupation. From what I can see, you definitely have had a great deal of experience. Thank you very much for sharing your challenges.

    Great video. Thanks!
I too had to make many of the same mods with my M38 repro body and mounting on a 3A chassis.
One thing to watch out for and you might need to tell your paint guy is how that black primer from MD Juan just flakes off over time.

Glad you found it useful! Yea I had them sand most of the primer off just to be sure as I have heard mixed reviews. From what I gather the red primer is worse but who knows. It’s all painted up and ready I just need to post the final video - hopefully soon.

Ive got the cj5 body for 78. Seems the transmission tunnel is off quite a bit. Dont have it figured out yet. Good video and looks like yours is pretty close.

That’s a bummer - I know others who have similar issue with cj5 bodies. Frustrating that they sell bodies that are so far off I can understand small adjustments but major miss are hard to understand. Wish you the best on yours - 78 is a great year!
