The general context in which you find this song makes it even more impactful. The song tone is in stark contrast with the rest of the Deltarune ARG, which is overall weird and kind of interesting, and the page where you find it is harder to find because you have to manually change the URL instead of clicking on a link. Thus, hidden in a web page filled with darkness beneath the oddities of the ARG is a lone guitar playing an emotional, mournful track that is destined to be unheard and never found by people, just like Dess, and just like Noelle's pain for her disappearance as she tries to hide it and keep a positive attitude while trying to just hold it together.
And, if Toby's metaphors and allegories are anything to go by, it seems like we'll have to find her without using Kris as our vessel. Looking forward to the cast finding out Kris is literally on life support of a soul that doesn't belong to them.
@@RetroLeavesPlease don't be harsh on him. Remember that music is great because it can evoke many different concepts in different people, even if seemingly unrelated. There was already plenty of evidence for Dess being just missing instead of dead, but it would appear that Toby saw that a lot of people just missed his hints for some reason, so he spelt it out for them.
Just because one is missing doesn't mean they're not dead, though. It can be both. Still, you are right. I don't think Toby is the type to let characters die not by the player's hand in some way.
This theme is not only more sad than Lost Girl but is also very mysterious sounding as well unlike Lost Girl, it also makes the name for Lost Girl make sense as before I was so confused why it was called Lost Girl considering it's a theme associated with Noelle. But now it all makes sense, Noelle isn't the Lost Girl, Dess is
I'm still strongly for the idea that Dess was caught in the middle of a snow storm that may have been caused by Noelle. Something must have happened to trigger her to go into that very specific catatonic state. Remember when we told Noelle to use snow grave. She aggressively told us that she didn't know what we where talking about, completely denying it. Like a repressed memory. Why would Noelle "freeze" during the spelling b if Dess simply dissapeared and Noelle had no idea why. Whatever happened in the forest, Noelle had some involvement, but went on to repress the memory entirely to keep herself together. Now anytime her sisters full name is said. December. She becomes still. Or when she is forced to remember something she desperately is trying to forget, she goes into autopilot, half conscious and following her basic survival instincts, like some alternate personality made solely as a defense mechanism. And what does the player do? The player, we, take advantage of that trauma and use it for our benefit. It's easy to detach yourself from what happens as just exploring the game and saying you or them to the entity controlling kris. But we are the one who somehow is able to get secret access to noelles darkest triggers, and force her to fear for her life, and give her a way to overpower that fear in a destructive way, by giving her a false sense of power, so she can plunge even further into denial. id say if it was a command, it would be in full caps because the goner maker was in full caps, and that was done by the guy who started this experiment in the first place
I did not, actually. Might be intentional, Toby is a Yume Nikki fan and has also turned one of the fansongs he made for it into the theme of the "Man behind the tree". Waltz of Seccom Masada I mean, right here: fwugradiation.tumblr.com/post/20325508850/made-up-yume-nikkis-dark-tunnel-amphitheater
That's what I think, the cruel twist Toby has in store. Especially because the fake error message in the Sweepstakes when trying to get on her page says she "cannot be found", not couldn't, with the error message further using language like "removed".
Oh please. It's far more likely that the character in 'UNUSED' and is channeled by Spamton is Dess, not to mention all the weird things in the Dark Worlds that appear to relate to Dess.

To me she died. And maybe Noelle feels responsible or blocked it out. I really believe she went into the bunker with Kris and Noelle and never came out. She’s missing and dead now, but Noelle could never really move on. I feel like we might find out what happened to her. I don’t think she’s alive. Deltarune has always had this dark undertone.

@@leedlelel2373 especially if the sister is named Noelle
it's funny because I am named Mari, and I am friends with a girl named Sunny isn't that interesting? Especially since she plays violin :>
@@LouieHocotateand have a father named rudolph
Watching the guitar slowly fade into the darkness is one of the saddest things I have ever seen.
every time i listen to this it reminds me of where's casey from nitw. mostly the sad tone and the context of someone going missing
My precious tomboy doe! LOST FOREVER!!! *_AUUUUGH!!!!!_*
We are literally being told to find her.
-Fanon!Mayor Holiday, the mother of December and Noelle Holiday circa 2024 CE colorized 😔❄ 💔 ;-;
This is peaceful and sad at the same time, like a friend or family member you haven't seen in a long time which seems to be who Dess is
Also being the Tyler simp I am the first couple of notes remind me of Answer which is also about an absent family member, except it's about Tyler's father and not a sister
it sounds desperate and longing,, some parts determined
@@nvtmegg9618Determined you say
Dess is missing because she falls into the depths, just like Gaster.
I really wish I knew guitar so I could play this
Same here.
Unfortunately I'm very musically inept.
Already love this track
"December Holiday"
I'd like to think that both Asriel and Dess are trapped in a dark world and trying to find a way out
Maybe the person talking through Spamton is one of them, more likely to be Dess, because puppet strings which and guitar strings are very similar.
i personally think asriel is missing to find her
asriel’s at college though
It really gives you goosebumps, it's like time is gaining and you only have days to find her before something happens
Was just gonna play this but then I remember that I broke the B string
Doe brainrot music
I believe in Doe supremacy
I wonder if we'll see Dess in any of the future chapters. Just lost.
such a wonderful song
Imagine you go to the police station and there’s an option to tear off the papers stapled to the board, until you find a really really old missing person poster for December
2:10 This part sounds like Noelle theme unused version..
Bruh its a leitmotif noelle has going for her themes, its literally in the og lost girl and a bit of "girl next door"
leitmotifs are a huge thing with toby fox,, can definitely hear this in girl next door
If you kill a murderer, does that make you a hero, or just another murderer?
Take a long look at yourself. Realize what you've done.
What's that got to do with anything here?
if you kill 2 murderers tho
If it's makes you to become another murderer, the loop will never ends.
@@AngraMainiiu Excellent question.
Anyway, it's time for me to ascend.
@@AngraMainiiu never said it had anything to do with this
For some reason this really creeps me out, its probably not intentional but this version of the track sounds pretty unsettling to me
Maybe this isn't a hint, but a command?
id say if it was a command, it would be in full caps because the goner maker was in full caps, and that was done by the guy who started this experiment in the first place
I got a guitar ad on this😭
has anyone else noticed that the beginning notes sound very similar to "martian underground" from Yume Nikki?
I did not, actually.
Might be intentional, Toby is a Yume Nikki fan and has also turned one of the fansongs he made for it into the theme of the "Man behind the tree".
Waltz of Seccom Masada I mean, right here: fwugradiation.tumblr.com/post/20325508850/made-up-yume-nikkis-dark-tunnel-amphitheater
I need this right now
AHGGGG WHERE ARE YOU DECEMBER HOLLIDAY
greetings fellow mae pfp user
i like this song very much
Some say Dess is missing, not dead. These aren’t mutually exclusive. Who’s to say she isn’t dead AND missing?
That's what I think, the cruel twist Toby has in store.
Especially because the fake error message in the Sweepstakes when trying to get on her page says she "cannot be found", not couldn't, with the error message further using language like "removed".
Oh please. It's far more likely that the character in 'UNUSED' and is channeled by Spamton is Dess, not to mention all the weird things in the Dark Worlds that appear to relate to Dess.
I just realised that the screen gets darker
To me she died. And maybe Noelle feels responsible or blocked it out. I really believe she went into the bunker with Kris and Noelle and never came out.
That’s just how I see it, which makes this song sad because to me it’s a reminder of a mistake, horror, sadness, and times of the past. She’s missing and dead now, but Noelle could never really move on.
I feel like we might find out what happened to her. I don’t think she’s alive. Deltarune has always had this dark undertone.
Ah yes my favorite fun gang members kris susie -gaster- noelle -dess-
