I agree!! The 96 Stock Look just had that "motocross" look, its hard to explain and it might have been my age at the time... but it has always been the bike, and the color scheme is probably the most duplicated look of all time (mostly thanks to team Honda at the time im sure)
I purchased it new when it came out in October 2015 and still have it. Looks as clean as yours or almost. When i retire soon ,i will bring back to its original glory.
Well they are amazing bikes! And really fun to restore. I hope your bike turned out better then this one! Keep us posted on how it goes for you and if you have any questions when you do it… reach out and I will try my best to help
its really hard to do it justice in the video, but i hope to get some more shots of the process im going to do to preserve what is there.. they are a great bike. thanks a lot for the comment
Chad its Richard here from Orangeville. This is a sign from above! I talked to my family and I'll be talking to you again! With their blessing they said get it!
Hey Richard. I think you are messaging the wrong guy. But thanks for the comment. This isn’t Chads bike.. but I actually think he might have been the original owner. I think he has another one forsale on kijiji that he had redone or something. But it’s not this bike. Thanks for the comment tho. Hopefully you like the videos and subscribe to the channel
No it was the wrong bike... guy in the video is new owner. I have a 2002 cr up for sale. I was going to keep it but too much power for my 59yr old bones!@jodyellison

i think its really the only way... incase one day i ever want to sell it... probably not going to happen... but maybe it will become a wall mount or something.. never know thanks for the comment
right when i graduated HS my parents got me a 96 cr250. $1200 bucks. ran great for years until the engine grenaded. i was looking deep into forums to see what was a good year and model of a bike and was on page 15 of a yamaha forum and a tuner was talking about how no bike ever felt as good as a 96 cr250. so then i thought, wait, i'll just get another one so i have extra parts for literally everything but an engine. got that one for 2018 and its been running like a champ ever since. redid the top end last summer. this bike is beautiful man!!
Beautiful bike and piece of motocross history!!👌🏼👌🏼 the 96’ has always been one of my favorites from the CR’s lineup. That bike is an awesome find brother, congrats! I own one of these myself that is all original minus the bars and rear fender. Other than that it’s a beauty!
Thanks a lot for watching the video and for the comment! It’s always really good to hear from the people that can appreciate what I was trying to show with this video. Thanks again
Wow… just wow .. my 94 also had the petcock inwards, guess it was the way they came to protect it. Sounds just brand new… Oh and I still wish I hadnt sold mine like 20years ago 😬
well that's good to know, this is actually the first one i had seen like this.. i had a 1991 when i was a kid.. back in the 90's lol but i remember it always being the other way.. Thanks a lot for the info and the comment.
I got a 98 kx250 thats in the same shape if not better all kinds of upgrades plus all original parts even the front brake protector 😮 i was gifted mine from my son in law who got it while working on a plumbing job for free its flawless its hot the Chevy trucks graphics on it
Our newly acquired 96 is quite clean, however not that clean ! That said, just a remark, we had the same thoughts, our RH engine covered is also painted and in great shape. This leads me to think that the OE came this way.
I actually saw that you just got a 1996 cr250. I saw it on Instagram I believe. It’s a really nice looking bike…. Was that the one in Bracebrige ? I was thinking of going to grab that one if it is..
Nicest original condition 96 I have seen. You will see the restored versions commonly but this bike should be in a museum. If you still have the original red front disc guard that in itself is a unicorn.
Thanks a lot for the comment, I think the same thing.. you would be hard to find a nicer all original 96 But I really want to ride it.., we will see I guess
I'm thinking the same thing, but its funny because my 2001 CR250 has the same motor and the clutch case, water pump cover, and clutch cover were never painted.... so obviously had me thinking ?? thanks a lot for the input
There are a few around. I picked up a 1991 that is all original. Plastic, bars, everything except the rear fender was cracked. Took it apart to do the top end as the power valve was gummed up. Original piston and cyl. Not a mark in it. Ordered a ser of UFO plastic so i don't bang up the originals. My favorite had always been my 96.
That’s pretty awesome! I had a 91 in the 90’s. I really liked that bike, something about the graphics with the stripes and the orange red.. it just sticks with me because I had one when I was young Thanks for sharing and for the comment
Well I don't like to talk $$ online. I see you have done a restoration build yourself, so I'm sure you understand the cost of that... so an all original, in this condition diffidently has some value.. I wish I could tell you i found it for a deal. but i didn't get the dream price of $500.00
I Have not ridden the 1996 Yet... I do have a 1993 I'm doing a video series on... I might just have to ride the 93, and save the 1996 Thanks a lot for the Comment and the support. Hopefully you like the rest of the content. if so consider Subscribing. Thanks again
the best looking production bike ever produced imo!!!!

That petcock is absolutely correct Honda mounted them that way so your boots wouldn’t turn off the fuel I owned 2 1996s and they were both that way
Well that’s really good to know. I didn’t know if it was factory Thanks for the comment and the info
Where the hell do you find a gem like that? What a score.
thanks for the comment, Im glad you like the video and the bike
Honda was way ahead of its time in 1996.
I agree they had the best bike! Then for 1997 they showed us how far the Apple can fall from the tree… lol

I picked up a 96 CR250 with FMF exhaust and titanium axles for $600 U.S., runs excellent!
That’s awesome!! I will give you $600 for it ;) but that’s a great deal

it is really nice, almost hard to believe really... that's why i question the clutch cover paint

Inner clutch was painted silver from the factory.
Well i was not sure 100% but I have had a few people tell me the same thing now. Thanks a lot for the comment and reaching out to answer my question.
Amazing machine!
Thanks a lot for the comment, Im glad you liked the bike.
My 96 has the same painted cover. Also the ignition covers are still available from Honda. Good score on the original pipe!
Hey thanks a lot for the info!! I wasn’t 100% sure, but now I know. That’s awesome. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video
