Hi Vanessa! My husband and I thank you for grooming Max with the care and patience that you showed, it would have been months before he would see his regular groomers and we appreciate you seeing him so quickly! For anyone wondering, we honestly did not know he had fleas, he never scratched himself or whined or reacted in any way. We never noticed them when bathing him, and the vet has never pointed them out to us. We contacted our vet immediately after his groom, and he is now on medication to get rid of those nasty things, and we are making sure to clean our home as best as we can. We are truly sorry for any problems they had caused during or after his groom. Both my husband and I are truly grateful for your work, especially given the trouble we may have caused. I’m sure everyone will be happy to know that Max is much more comfortable and livelier since having been groomed, and he will be getting all the pats and belly rubs he rightly deserves! :)
Good luck getting your home de-fleaed! I expect it's like your human kid coming home with lice. No one's fault, but makes you feel icky anyway. Enjoy your sweet old boy and his fashionable new hairdo!
These things happen. I found giving everything a spritz with a 50/50 mix of plain vinegar and water helps to repel fleas. The smell doesn't last long, and it doesn't stain. I live in rural Texas, and fleas come inside just walking into the house from outside. I even stay my shoes, ankles, and pants legs. It helps.
Congratulations to keep Max ok for SO MANY years and taking good care of him even when he is not that super healthy and easy to care puppy anymore. This is real love! He is adorable! Vanessa was very assertive and informative about her relationship with the fleas, but we all understand that's not a neglect case. ❤
Great job with Max. I have a super-senior (16+) Chihuahua mix who whines like this much of the time. He is 95% blind and about 70% deaf. I rescued him when he was 2. I've started bathing, lightly de-shedding and trimming his nails myself because venturing away from home stresses him out. So grateful I don't have to clip him. I appreciate your calm approach to every dog. This has helped me to try to remain calm and confident while grooming/tidying my dogs. Thanks for all you do.
We recently said good bye to our super senior shih-tzu. Having an ancient dog is so stressful when they need grooming…and it’s so true that in the end, the groom becomes one of function….you shave the dog down so the next appt is in 3-4 months instead of 4 weeks and all you care about is whether they get nicked or not. I did all the sanitary grooming and bushing in between. Our dog was blind and deaf as well and had to have the same groomer for her last 2 years every time, because she knew her and what scared her and made her nippy (she had like 2 teeth at the end). My husband booked with someone else one time and she was put in “time out” for “aggression.”
I have a chihuahua senior too, tho not senior, she's just turned 9 and we've had her since she was a puppy (sadly when she was about 4 weeks since her mother turned aggressive in depression). Ever I give her baths and she's a good swimmer and accustomed to the bath, I have to use the drummel (?) on her nails since the nail clippers are too rough and because she has a dislocating leg, her ears are always clean by themselves, unfortunately not the best dental (we can't do dental work since she has a severe heart murmur) but we try to help her do the absolute best and work with what's the least stressful for her. Luckily, she never had problems with change and is very good with grooming, but I have to remind myself that it could change if her leg gets worse or if she develops arthritis or ankle pains
Rescues are awesome had many over the years my sheltie kicked my butt LOL he had problems from spending first 10 months in crate and owners that kicked him thankfully my black lab was awesome with Merlin chaos
I lost my 15 year old powderpuff in June. His groomer was amazing, even though he was super uncomfortable his last few visits. We did as much as we could at home, but she knew how to take care of him the best to minimize the time and discomfort of his grooming. We knew he was getting close to the end when he wasn't tolerant of even gentle brushing or snuggles that he didn't initiate. Pet parenting the elder gentlefloofs is hard, but they're 1,000,000% worth it!
YT forcing creators to use pseudonyms like “unalive” considering some of the absolute vile crud that’s been in my feed is the height of hypocrisy. Thanks for your tender care of this elderly gentleman.
Lmao, right? I get videos of actual violence sometimes. We all need to put some more effort in, to make the algorithm give us more innocuous things, like fart videos.
It's ridiculous that we can't use words like "dead" or "suicide". Yes, those words carry heavy meanings with them, but pretending they don't exist doesn't negate that the things those words are connected to do exist. It just means people have to find other, more ridiculous and roundabout ways to say essentially the same thing. It all sounds incredibly stupid and immature. YT treating everyone like small children when it comes to use of common linguistic terms while allowing utter depravity is mind-blowingly idiotic.
Hey, GWTD, don’t ever stop talking a deaf or blind doggo. ❤ They feel the vibrations from your voice come through their body from sound waves. They can feel your breath on their fur and eyelashes and delicate ears. They smell you when you get closer as you speak to them, so they do know ❤. Don’t stop!
If in the middle of no where on a boat alone I’d never but with experienced back up in an a specially equipped boat I would. Not to say there’s no risk or it doesn’t take guts. But I won’t go into a cage alone hung in the water with a massive grey shark slamming against the bars. OMG that’s insanity. Maybe that’s on her bucket list? 😂
As someone who works in a veterinary clinic, it’s so upsetting to see things like a flea infestation and a large, painful tumor. I always appreciate your pro-vet pro-treatment approach!
Our family had a toy poodle that lived to be 25. We got her when I was 5 so yeah I literally grew up with her. She was blind as well but as long as we didn't move the furniture she was fine. I was gutted when she passed to say the least but she had a good life and I still have many good memories.
That long!? I don't know what the world record is for the oldest dog, but a dog living for that long should mean that it was taken really good care. I can imagine how heart broken you would be for your dog to pass away. But since that's way past the normal max age a dog could live, it only names sence to feel a bit at peice that your dog lived for that long in a healthy life style. It was only time for them to eventualy go from old age or some kind of sickness that emerged from old age. I remember when my dog passed at the age of 14. He was in pain from some lumps on his body and hearing him whine is too sad. But since he's old, we felt more at peace and relived that he is no longer in pain and lived to the max dog age. Compared to the first dog that passed away at age 7 unexpectedly do to cancer, it was an easy goodbye since we did not expect our 7 year old to jave to be put down early in life
God, that's incredible. We got a toy poodle at an estimated age of two, though he could have been older for all we know. He lived to at least fourteen, going blind and deaf. Love poodles! I bet you were gutted... My little sister was three when we got our now eight-yearold standard boy, and we had puppies right after her tenth birthday. They're her best pals, she spends so much time with our parade of poodles, so I know she'll be crushed as my parents and me, or ev, more so, when anything happens to one later. She has loved thinking of the fact that the youngest should still be here when she's entering college and maybe even beyond😄
I can hear your frustration with the fleas; it sucks that you have to disinfect the whole place. You showed tremendous compassion to Max and his owners.
He reminds me of my boy, Tipper. Tipper was my Grade 8 graduation puppy, and he lived long enough to know both of my sons before he passed at 19. He always pranced after his grooms because he knew how handsome he looked! Sweet Max did really well.
That huge defeated sigh of flea contamination at 5:32- ugh Vanessa I feel you. Great job with him, I know how overwhelmed you felt in that moment. Fleas are no joke😭
"This flea survived.. *jerk*" LOL You tickle me I swear!! You did such a great job with Max, you understood him, his age, his issues and knew perfecly how to work around them. I love watching you groom but even more so with animals like this!
You're an Earth Angel for dogs such as these. I am continually fascinated with the human drama being lived through our pets lives. I've been Blessed twice in my life with dogs that lived to the ages of 17 and 18 respectively. ...those girls were with me through a LOT of my own life changes and stages of life. They were such good dogs. Here's to them, Tipper and Scotch ~ lovely memories.
@@tammystratford7079I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful fur baby Tammy. The grief is so real and í still miss my souldog Daisy every day as she died from an aggressive mast cell tumour aged only 5. I wish they all lived forever 😢
The fact that they pack so much love into such short little lives is the worst part of pet parenting and I'm so sorry you're going through it. They leave gaping wounds in our hearts that never really knit completely closed, but they're so worth it! I hope your good memories of Mimzy bring you comfort ❤
Thank you for being so compassionate and completing the groom even after seeing the fleas. I was thinking all the things you eventually talked about as far as elderly pets and keeping fleas off. As stated, it does as much or more harm to leave fleas as opposed to preventing them especially for very senior pets. Also not fair to not tell you before bringing him in your shop. 1 hour 40 minutes to groom and, although not said, I’m guessing 3 hours to clean and disinfect shop. 💕💕💕
Well with a coat like that the owner may have not noticed the fleas. They would not notice the flea unless they are brushing the dog and even then you need to do some hunting or use a flea comb. Meanwhile I am sure they get dogs in with fleas all the time. With small short hair dog you can get by not using flea prevention by just brushing and running flea comb though them everyday.
Even if your dog only goes out to do their business, you never know if other animals have dropped off pets for yours. Please help prevent travelers from inhabiting your fur baby.
@@JAM661 You mean a bright white coat? Honestly with a dog having so many fleas on its HEAD where I would suppose you'd be petting the dog the most, how can you not notice? My dog has a massively dense coat, ticks never get to her because of her fur but this one time I spotted a flea on her and I directly treated the entire house and dog. Flea infestations are a horrible pain in the ass to deal with. This is the same as going to a barber shop with your head covered in head lice. You just cannot do this, it's a health hazard. And as a pet owner, you have a big responsibility to keep a close eye to your pet.
It's hard to say when we don't know the situation at home. Maybe they are seniors who can't see well, have mobility issues hence outsourcing the groom, or are just overwhelmed with first managing the cancer that is more pressing. The key point is that the owners are doing something and this dog seems to be doing relatively okay for his age/sickness, as compared to so many abused, neglected or abandoned dogs. Vanessa always mentions about giving the benefit of the doubt and not to lay blame, so I think we can do the same here too.
I love the way you broke down the facts and the knowledge of what happens when groomers deal with fleas in theirs shops. Ppl do need to recognize that it isn't their fault. As well as needing to do that research on flea meds and to get them so they can protect their pets and homes from fleas. It is important. Like other meds dogs are on to help them live a healthy life. He was pretty well behaved for being groomed not knowing where or who was touching him. I'm impressed with max and you having the patience to keep trimming and shaving his face, it still looks great!
I work in a veterinary clinic and our oldest patient will be turning 17 this March and he is also a Poodle Mix!! These guys must be made out of vibranium I swear😂
My cousin's wife inherited her grandmother's poodle when she passed. He was old then, and if memory serves, Pepe lived another ten years! He was completely gray, but never seemed to decline much. I got used to seeing him trotting about looking for treats at Thanksgiving.
@@danielmcgillis110They say mixed breeds live longer, I’m not sure if it’s true. Our St Bernard, Bernese Mountain Dog mix lived to 19 yrs old, our Beagle, Border Collie mix lived to 17 yrs old. Both were rescued by us as pups…
Thank you so much for your videos. My dog was put to sleep today and he loved watching your videos with me. We would curl up on my bed and cuddle while watching. Thank you for giving me that chance
Being deaf is a spectrum, most animals that are deaf have some level of remaining hearing however with deafness speaking louder doesnt work because you are missing the ability to hear certain spectrums of sound rather than things just being harder to hear. If they can't hear you they can still feel it. You can still talk to them and they will have some level of imput. Animals that have hearing loss due to age are likely hard of hearing rather than deaf so if you speak loud there's a chance he can hear you to some degree.
Vanessa, you are truly an angel. Grooming these very senior dogs can be extremely difficult, but you are always so patient and kind, with the dogs safety and well being at the forefront. Those in your care are truly fortunate. I rescued a male Maltese years ago, when I found him wandering the streets. I strongly suspect that his owner died and the relatives didn’t want him. At the time, the vet thought that he was 15 years old. My friend was a pet groomer, and we quickly found out that he was easy to groom as long as I was holding him, otherwise he was nearly impossible. When she retired, I fortunately found a groomer that let me hold him for groom. He passed when he was 22 years old. I will never forget my spicy little Nicco.❤
Poor sweet Max. He must be feeling a lot better after his groom. I hope the owners were able to get Max treatment for his fleas and that he lives the remainder of his life surrounded by love, peace, and comfort.
I laughed so hard when you said trimming around the tumor was nerve wracking when you literally just swam with bull sharks! Girl, I couldn't have done either of those things! And don't ever stop talking to them, even the deaf ones. Dogs don't speak English, but they definitely understand our energy and as humans our words are how we convey energy. Even if he can't literally hear you, your talking to him helped him and all the other deaf dogs you've worked with. 💜
Poor sweet Max. He was such a good boy for his groom considering his circumstances. I hope he has a cozy sweater to wear and some blankets to cuddle under. And after his long well deserved nap, he should have a nice big steak waiting for him. ❤️❤️
Oh Max I wish you all the best! You are like any old grandpa who whines, complains and never really knows what's going on around him but you still feel the need to care and love for as long as he lives - after all he lived to give you all the love he could during his best years asking only in return treats and belly rubs. Bless you Max and all our older pets, those we love and those we still miss forever. 🐶❤🐱
Amazing job with Max. I had a 20yr min pin who passed away this past July and grooming a dog who can’t see , hear , and has tumors is so unbelievably difficult. We had to bath our Jada at home once she lost her hearing and sight it was just so unbelievably stressful for her. 5 ⭐️ for you ! And Max your a handsome ole man pup 😘🥰
Aww poor sweet Max. Even though he couldn’t hear or see and was stressed so understandably, I’m sure he could still feel the presence of your compassion. Amazing job as always!
Awesome job with Max. I have a 15 year old pit bull heeler mix rescue from a dog fighting ring, she is almost 100% blind and deaf. It's nice to see how much compassion and patience you have for dogs that have pain and who are miserable and need your loving care. ❤
You were so gentle and wonderful, and yes he can feel the soft vibrations of you talking to him so I’m glad you did you Angel ❤As someone who is incurably ill and bed bound …I totally feel for this boy and I hope his quality of life is lovely and worth the suffering.😢
Great job! Poor buddy. It's always so sad to see a dog with tumors like that. I hope Max is getting some medication for what ever pain he may be in. My chihuahua had a small tumor under the right armpit area it wasn't anything like this, but it was inoperable. That and her being 13 they said she might have less than a year to live. And they were correct unfortunately. She passed away a few months later. Anyway I hope his human family make his life as peacefull and comfortable as they can for what ever time he has left. ❤
You are so compassionate with all of your customers and the pets! Thanks for that and also explaining about the fleas.. Poor Max, I'm sure that he is a much happier pup now that he is not so itchy..❤
As someone with a 16 year old dog, who is also deaf and blind, I really appreciate my groomer prioritising her comfort at all times. They even have a special pillow for her! They usually do her first or last, so it is quieter and she can get home soon. Really, with an old dog you appreciate everyone's kindness towards her and hope we get the same when our time comes.
My 16 year old poodle passed away a few weeks ago, and this was just so bittersweet to watch. But also really comforting because of the nostalgia. Aramis looked just like Max, except for being black. And had about the same opinions about being groomed. 😄
My poodle lived to be 19 before she just got too much life quality issues once she got dementia. I always wondered how much longer she would have lived otherwise, I love poodles !
I was cracking up when you made the lipstick comment, I've never heard that before. You still did a great job, even with him being up in age and fragile, he looks so much better.
I had a Boston terrier that was 14 years old, deaf, blind, and senile. He was also arthritic but still loved sunbathing and belly rubs. He, too, was a nipper because he never knew what was going on. As long as he could smell his people, he was fine. He'd gone everywhere with me his whole life, even travel nursing, so the place never mattered. But he would definitely bite if he couldn't tell what was happening and none of his familiar smells were around. I had to let him go last November, and I think of him everyday❤
We enjoyed your groom of the Marvelous Max, incredibly fit old man! For having a painful health condition, I can tell you: we usually don't mind being in a situation that is uncomfortable (almost everything is!!!) as long as we feel better after, and I'm sure Max would agree!! He doesn't itch anymore, you've been patient with him, approaching his face a couple of times so that he doesn't feel too overwhelmed.... He's clean and has a nice fresh haircut to enjoy pets at home, a good bed, the fire in the fireplace ^^ all good things in life LOL
Being a groomers assistant for 35 years I’ve seen a lot of what you have. When a dog came in and had fleas we would put them in the tub and hit the hiding spots before water. Fleas detect water and run for those spots, so the spots we hit are, around the ears, around the mouth n nose. On the butt and feet. Then apply water and when the fleas run lol they run into death. We never put inside ears nose or mouth we were always careful.
Armpits are also a hiding spot along with groin. Hit them with the flea shampoo and you can let it sit without them being soaking wet for a little bit and then when you do scrub them down, it wipes them out.
One of my westies, grandfather to my current very fit and well 14 year old boy, lived to just shy of his 19th birthday. He was still pretty mobile though also deaf and blind at the end, and he had some dementia…would walk into a corner and stand there unable to figure out how to walk out again. He got quite grumpy about being groomed, I just shaved him eventually. It was mostly his front legs he objected to being brushed. He developed an osteosarcoma on his jaw, and the day he refused both his meals…normally he fell on the food lol…I called the vet out. He wasn’t a very affectionate dog like his grandsons…I kept two…but he was a helluva character and very clever, could do high level obedience and lots of tricks. When he felt like it lol.
Thank u for taking such good care of the sweet little old dude. I bet he felt so much better when he got home. Your genuinely kind heart does not go unnoticed by me.
Well done, Vanessa❤❤ Now he’ll be more comfortable for the holidays. I would think the extra hair, etc. would be even harder to tolerate when your other senses are not in working order.
Poor baby; blind AND deaf. 😢 My sister and brother in law drove three hours to adopt a blind and deaf senior dog from a shelter. He had a wonderful 3 years with them until he passed away.
You honored Max with the gift of feeling a great deal better. The only regrettable thing about loving a dig is easing them into old age but its a package deal, puppy days thru senior days! You have a sweet soul Vanessa,.💕💕
Another compassionate thought for the owners is that they are 18 years older too. They got this poodle to his 18th year so far! We are differently abled throughout our life physically and financially. I had my bichon for 12.5 wonderful years. She got diabetes and I got severe osteoarthritus in both knees in her last 3 years. WALKING WAS PAINFUL BUT I still walked her twice a day. I could afford her meds, special food and grooming because I still worked ($6000+ year) . I currently do not have a dog due to walking disability and retirement income. It's my hope one day after knee surgery and recovery that I can rehome an old rescue small dog. In my Esme's last year the vet did not want to give her vaccines or flea medication due to her delicate condition and she was blind and becoming deaf and loosing hair. I brushed her daily and kept a watchful eye, and due to our increasing disabilities walked her only once a day. I loved her dearly. It was hard to end her suffering but I was with her to the end. Thank you GWTD for your care and kindness because I know his pet parents are extremely grateful. ❤❤❤.
Agreed, caring for senior pets can be hard on the pockets. I have an elderly cat that's on medications for hyperthyroidism and early stage kidney disease, and visits the vet regularly to manage her conditions. We love her dearly and have had her for 16 years, even though the yearly tally on vet bills and refills is no joke. But we can still afford it, and will keep caring for her until she's having fewer good days than bad.
Max is looking very handsome after his spa day. Both of you handled today's groom wonderfully. Max needs hugs and pets from his owner. Thank you for sharing.
So glad Max is well. Thanks for the update. With dogs with thick coats it can be hard to spot fleas especially if they aren't scrathing, whining, or acting itchy. You are obviously caring fur baby parents and I hope Max stays happy and comfortable.❤❤❤🐩🐾
My Bitsie, a Teacup Poodle, lived 17 years. At the end she was blind and deaf and her quality of life was deteriorating. You handled Max so well. Awesome job on a pup who obviously means so much to his family.
So happy this sweet old boy is receiving such loving kindness in his advanced age. He must feel like a new pupper after his warm bath, trim, dry & shave. Thank you lovely pet family for sharing this little boy with us.
My cats are indoor only so I didn't worry about fleas. We got a nightmare infestation anyway, so I know how it happens. Now I give them topicals during the summer and not during winter to give them a break from the pesticides. Max is adorable and his age is a testament to the care he has. Those old man growls are the cutest!
You have such a beautiful heart, and I absolutely love how gentle you are with him, but then you are always awesome with every client. He left your salon looking absolutely handsome. ❤
You’re so good with animals of all ages and sizes. Max looks great and will have a much happier life now that he saw you! My schnauzer was groomed by the same lady her entire life. It was so nice because I knew that my pup was in great hands. Funny side note is that she later became my mother in law!
Having grown up in a house with parents that had AKC Show level Standard Poodles, I'm not surprised that Max is a sassy old man. Poodles seem to become more characters as they get older. For Max compound that character with the sarcoma, blindness and deafness, and it's surprising he's only sensitive about his feet and face being groomed. As always excellent job Vanessa. Hope the disinfection of your shop wasn't too exhausting.
I know it's because of years of experience, but it never ceases to amaze me how this wonderful woman can both shave an animal trying to make sure she doesn't cut them while also watching for signs of aggression. Just seems difficult especially when you factor in all the unpredictable movement.
My black lab x rottwieller Grace lived to nearly 17 years. Ancient for her breeds. She was the absolute sweetest dog ever. Max’s little old man growls were adorable.
Great comfort groom!!!! I would still talk to him too. He can feel the vibration of your voice and when you touch him he can feel your calm and assertive body language. That would reassure him. I hope he will be comfortable and spend this time with his family.
Oh thank you for taking great care with this old fellow and know you can double the time to groom for clean and sanitize long day for you thanks for sharing !
Max is such a handsome old man & I'm amazed how he's survived at 18 yrs old, evening with all of his health struggles. All the best to Max. Great job on his grooming, Vanessa!❤❤❤
You are kind and compassionate to animals and people. Thank you for not blaming/shaming and for honest advice. Sometimes you have to see the veterinarian. Thank you protecting the next client.
Vanessa, I discovered that a flea comb dipped in rubbing alcohol killed adult fleas instantly. I'd dip the comb, then run through my dog's / cat's hair. I did that as an immediate response until I could bath them in flea shampoo, bomb the house, etc. At the time I had my dogs, cat, and my mom's dog, the flea preventative wasn't around and all we had was flea spray - which was horrible as they'd be able to lick it. No idea what rubbing alcohol does or doesn't do to eggs. My question - have you ever used that method before the bath (when you can moisturize their skin to counteract the drying effect of the rubbing alcohol), and generally what are your thoughts of that as a quick though temporarily effective action? And what do you do to prevent fleas from hitching a ride on you, and into your house?
Forgot about this, something we did in the 70s, using a clean old plastic butter tub with a lid, filled with alcohol, and a flea comb! This was before all the topical they have now but worked very well!
@novampires223 makes sense - if enough rubbing alcohol gets to them. Presumably combing with the flea comb dipped in alcohol could do the trick. I just never saw eggs, didn't know to look for them. I tried to use the alcohol sparingly. Interesting thing, the flea problem wasn't resolved until my dad unwittingly treated the lawn - he hired a service, because he wanted a nice lawn. Never said anything about fleas to them - because the fleas chomped on me & mom and left dad totally alone. Anyway, whatever they used, it did the final trick.
Hi Vanessa, you are such a wonderful person. You are so gentle and patient with disabled animals. And you respect them and their feelings. Keep up the great work.
Hats off to you for helping an old guy out !!! The fleas have been terrible here in the States!! Using RX flea topical still doesn't kill them all even using every 3 weeks and all my felines are indoors only. Also no carpet and constantly cleaning everything. One live flea makes millions!!!! They are truly a menace!!!!!!
Awe Vanessa thank you for being the best choice to help this sweet little man in his hour of need. My husband & I adore you & Max both! You are an absolute goddess to dogs & cats the world over! We love you!
I have cats and often times they always have a chance to bring fleas by accident! I learned that it isn't a "once a year treatment" it is a once a MONTH treatment which you have to keep reapplying every single month on the same day to keep the pet protected from those nuinsance bugs! It took me half a year to have the fleas cleared and we regularly cleaned the entire house but we managed! If you don't want your pet to get uncomfortable, itchy and have infections and diseases please give them monthly flea treatment, it will save a lot of stress and a lot of work you have to do around your pet and at home, besides fleas can hide in warm and dark areas even when its cold! Spot-on treatment you put on the neck is a better, stress-free choice as your pet doesn't have to eat tablets and the liquid gets absorbed through the skin.
Max looked so much better at the end of his groom. Nice work. It's also interesting to know why RUclips content creators are saying "unalive" instead of "dead" these days -- at this rate, RUclips might change the words we use when we talk to each other.
Hi Vanessa! My husband and I thank you for grooming Max with the care and patience that you showed, it would have been months before he would see his regular groomers and we appreciate you seeing him so quickly!

Deaf and blind...I can't imagine how scary it was for him. You both did great.
don't forget dogs' crazy sense of smell!
I bet he plays a mean pinball, though
Good to hear of older dogs in such good hands. She must have been well cared or feisty to make it that age. Thank you for sharing.
Nor being able to say the word dead on You Tube is so stupid. You are right. They certainly allow all kinds of real crap online. What hypocrites!
I was wondering why that term came around. I think it is in the realm of the most idiotic stuff I’ve ever heard.
Lmao, right? I get videos of actual violence sometimes.
We all need to put some more effort in, to make the algorithm give us more innocuous things, like fart videos.
and yet people can post actual pr0n and animal abuse videos and that's apparently fine.
Don’t stop!
Vanessa even if he’s deaf he can feel the vibration of your voice through your hands and touch. Keep talking to him.
Not only is this woman the most compassionate groomer, she swam with freaking bull sharks!
After Chihuahua's, everything's safe!
😆@@lulumoon6942
If in the middle of no where on a boat alone I’d never but with experienced back up in an a specially equipped boat I would. Not to say there’s no risk or it doesn’t take guts. But I won’t go into a cage alone hung in the water with a massive grey shark slamming against the bars. OMG that’s insanity. Maybe that’s on her bucket list? 😂
She is wonderful!
_Not only is this woman the most compassionate groomer, she swam with freaking bull sharks!_
Fortunately, the sharks did not require any grooming.
18 years old, wow that's a long life, when shaved down, looked like a lamb. Bless his heart, it's rough getting old.
He does!
It's rough for humans too.
Wow that's SO many years, your family took good care of her! 👍
Don't be all too sad she's gone. She lived an insanely long and happy life with people she loved. That's as good as it gets.
Compared to the first dog that passed away at age 7 unexpectedly do to cancer, it was an easy goodbye since we did not expect our 7 year old to jave to be put down early in life
@@bigboomer1013 According to wiki 31 years was the oldest.
My little angel just passed on Friday morning at 17 1/2. Mimzy was a great girl!
@@tammystratford7079I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful fur baby Tammy. The grief is so real and í still miss my souldog Daisy every day as she died from an aggressive mast cell tumour aged only 5. I wish they all lived forever 😢
Thank you. I'm sorry about Daisy. We never get long enough with them. I wish dogs lived much longer. I'm selfish.
@@ozgal6929
The fact that they pack so much love into such short little lives is the worst part of pet parenting and I'm so sorry you're going through it. They leave gaping wounds in our hearts that never really knit completely closed, but they're so worth it! I hope your good memories of Mimzy bring you comfort ❤
sincere condolences. I was a total mess after the death of ALL our pets over the years. Each one is precious.@@tammystratford7079
With a white coat, it would be far easier to see the fleas, because they're black.
I can’t even imagine how scary it would be to go somewhere new and not be able to see or hear. He was remarkably well behaved, given his situation
I got used to seeing him trotting about looking for treats at Thanksgiving.
my sister's little poodle mix lived to 18.5!
That's crazy, the oldest poodle I've met was 22
Mine was almost 16. They do live a very long time usually.
I'm sorry for your loss ❤
So sorry for your loss 😢
My sincere condolences on your loss. Yours, Ann
He has every right to not give two fluffs about anything, and he can do what he wants when he wants.
100%😅
Period!
Sweet!! I agree!!!
He has earned that right!! He shouldn’t have fleas on top of everything else. He’s so sweet and I feel sad for him 🥲
Vanessa, you are truly an angel.
Poor old guy. I'm itching at the mere mention of fleas 😅. You are amazing and compassionate for taking care of him ❤
Poor sweet Max.
Omg, my heart was breaking for that old man. You did such a good job handling him. Now he can go home feeling good.
They also need to worm him for tapeworms. Fleas carry tapeworm eggs.
Sweet Max!!! My heart goes out to old dogs like that. I have a soft spot for poodles, I miss my small poodle mixes 🥺💚💙💜
Poor old guy, shaking and shivering. It's got to be so scary for him, even though Vanessa treated him with the utmost compassion and kindness.
Great job! ❤
Aw, poor guy 😢 You did such a great job with such compassion ❤️
TY, Vanessa, for helping Max. I'm sorry you had extra work due to the flea situation. ❤❤❤
It was hard to watch this one. Thanks for doing this for him. I do hope he’s comfortable and not in a lot of pain.😕
Even though he couldn’t hear you, I suspect he could feel the energy behind “good boy” and “it’s ok”. ❤
What a good sweet boy considering. I think he is just precious.
I never thought of that. Thanks for tip!!!!!
Hit the hiding spots with what?
@@trainer1158I would bet they used flea bath solution, or a flea spray.
@@trainer1158 - liquid soaps suffocate them, iirc, so maybe the shampoo?
Armpits are also a hiding spot along with groin. Hit them with the flea shampoo and you can let it sit without them being soaking wet for a little bit and then when you do scrub them down, it wipes them out.
Poor old guy! Fleas & tumor. Hope he feels better!
I'm glad you talk to the dog, it's a good way to keep calm and on top of the sitution. The doggie smells your mood.
Poor little guy! Thanks for the love!💕
He can probably feel the love in your voice and your aura. So, talking to him is not crazy.
Oh bless his heart! He did so well! I can only imagine how scary it must be to have no hearing or sight..what a sweetheart xx
Well done, Vanessa❤❤ Now he’ll be more comfortable for the holidays. I would think the extra hair, etc. would be even harder to tolerate when your other senses are not in working order.
Vanessa, your loving touch is so appreciated, especially for the more unfortunate dogs. Max did so well under the circumstances. Thank You! Woof! 💓🐩💓
Deaf and blind, Max had my heart today. Thank you for your compassion Vanessa ❤️
Poor Maxie, thank you for helping him feel better🐾🐾💋🫶🏼❣️
Poor darling, I wanna give him all the snuggles and hugs. Max did amazing today!
That was amazing. It's such a "love" language to treat these dogs and puppies. You're such a good mother to all animals.
Poor baby he was such a good boy🥰🥰🥰🥰
You have such a beautiful heart, and I absolutely love how gentle you are with him, but then you are always awesome with every client. He left your salon looking absolutely handsome. ❤
You’re so good with animals of all ages and sizes. Max looks great and will have a much happier life now that he saw you! My schnauzer was groomed by the same lady her entire life. It was so nice because I knew that my pup was in great hands. Funny side note is that she later became my mother in law!
OMG those sounds he makes are so adorable.
I have to say that I am in awe of you! This was the first groom I’ve watched that made me nervous throughout! Awesome work!
I have a mini mix and we say he adds a quirk a day. He’s definitely got a standard poodle sized personality.
This by far is my favorite groom you have ever done!!
I have on many previous videos you are absolutely a gift for animals in need!!❤
I know it's because of years of experience, but it never ceases to amaze me how this wonderful woman can both shave an animal trying to make sure she doesn't cut them while also watching for signs of aggression. Just seems difficult especially when you factor in all the unpredictable movement.
Thank you thank you thank you for stressing the need for preventative and talking to your vet for the best flea care!! 👏👏
Bless You for being so caring ❤. Especially with the seniors. Too bad about the fleas.
My black lab x rottwieller Grace lived to nearly 17 years. Ancient for her breeds. She was the absolute sweetest dog ever.
Max’s little old man growls were adorable.
Thank you for showing us a senior dog. Sending love to Max! ❤🤗❤
Great comfort groom!!!! I would still talk to him too. He can feel the vibration of your voice and when you touch him he can feel your calm and assertive body language. That would reassure him. I hope he will be comfortable and spend this time with his family.
That darling did as best he could. I have to give my pup an extra treat now ❤
What a sweetheart for being blind and 16 and not fighting to much. You both did a good job. ❤❤❤❤
Oh thank you for taking great care with this old fellow and know you can double the time to groom for clean and sanitize long day for you thanks for sharing !
Bless you for taking care of Max when no one else would. You're an angel.
What a handsome elder gentlefloof ❤
Max has the "Give no fluffs!" vibe I hope to bring with me into my golden years.
Max and his grumpy old man grumbles is so cute! You did an amazing job taking care of him!
It drys the eggs out. 😊
You are the best! I understand talking to a blind deaf dog. As with my dog they feel your love and compassion.
Sweet Max! So happy the owner(s) found you! Fleas are AWFUL! Protection is being kind to your pet! 👏👍✨❤😍
It’s so sad when I see older dogs with fleas because you know they’re so uncomfortable but they don’t even have the mobility to scratch themselves
Max looked so much better at the end of his groom. Nice work. It's also interesting to know why RUclips content creators are saying "unalive" instead of "dead" these days -- at this rate, RUclips might change the words we use when we talk to each other.
Poor Max! It was so hard for him to be in a strange place not knowing what was going on. Thank you for handling him with such grace and gentleness.
