The resolution admittedly really sucks, but considering how brief I see it while driving and how far it is from me, it's fine. It would be nice if the price was just a bit lower, but it's definitely one I would consider.
Such a great design, but once you hit me with the "no wireless android auto", then I knew this stereo wasn't it for me. Sometimes I wonder how crazy would it be if a phone company (like Samsung, etc) actually made a head unit! Would be so up to par with today's technology, and just destroy these units.
I was worried about this, but the volume adjusts pretty quickly, so it just takes a short hold of the buttons to make big changes (just tap the button for small changes). The Pioneer head unit I had before had a knob and I had to spin that repeatedly to make minor adjustments. I surprisingly like the Sony volume buttons.
It would be interesting if Sony finally integrated some permanent memory for settings and radio stations so you don't have to set all settings again after the battery was disconnected for a few minutes.
I was tired a bit of testing these head units. Tried Chinese Android ones, Kenwood, some no-names. Finally I decided to build my own headunit based on the Raspberry PI 4 computer and OpenAuto Pro software. I used 10'' touchscreen, added Crunch amplifier. Finally headunit in my car works like a charm.
If the resolution doesn't look bad then I don't see it as a con. If it looks fine and not pixelated that's good with me. That built in amplifier is seriously awesome though. That's insane!

its VERY responsive! try it before you hate it.
@@mikeh.8155 Agreed. If you didn't know, you wouldn't be able to tell.
A few physical button/knob would be a perfect piece. Like volumn knob(very important)
the “still somebody’s gonna ask” when you repeated that AC and AA aren’t wireless 💀
I get it everyday in the comment section 😩
This is a great-looking head unit that is very compelling but the lack of capacitive and non HD screen, and especially no Wireless Android auto just makes it a tough sell for me.
Also Sony's new XAV-AX7000 is also missing Wireless Android auto and HD screen... these are the only head units that work in my motorcycle. I've been holding out for these features but year after year Sony doesn't put them in... I just don't understand why they can't offer at least one higher end model with more features like this, I'm willing to pay more.
Sony just keeps dropping a ball here with features.
Could have been a must have. Hopefully this video and our viewers reactions will help show them what they need to do
Alpine Halo9 is superior to this in every way. This even looks cheap with that raised bezel.
Halo9 is a great stereo, but quite the price tag
My sony volume knob stuck, where can i get it repair?
Good Boy.
Planning to install this on my hyundai elantra 2017
So....Natasha 🍑 huh?
Just had this radio installed in my buick enclave. So far so good but that glare is horrible in the daytime especially with sun roof.
well that thing cost more than my car :W
lol
If the back was more "sealed", it would be awesome where you could mount it like a factory standard display on the top of the dash like a Hyundai or Mercedes.
Overpriced for what it is. It's not 2014. The average $250 android headunit is more capable.
Amazing! But dose it fit in Honda Civic 2019? Or is there a better option? Thank u
It will fit! You need these parts:

I was just about to make my own comment, but you took the words already lol
Can you suggest me which model I can go with for my Isuzu D-max KB 300 2013 from South Africa
4:13 this guy : Who drives on the left side of the road?
Most of the country around the world :/
Nope
33% of the world actually
75 countries drive on the left vs 166 countries on the right.. yes i googled it 😎
@@tito7021 My dude 😎
You said you need compatible speakers so stock vehicle speakers wont work??? Also... what speakers??? And is there a better quality mic than that??? These are my only question i just got a 2012 volts wagon cc and i was looking for a carplay device and this looks like what i might use and i just wanna make sure this is the right thing to get
@qualitymobilevehicle
You can wire any speakers to this stereo, I was just referring to the power of the amplifier being ideally used with higher end speakers.
It’s still not that smooth!!!
Love this, but the size will interfere with the ac controls and display, can this be connected with the car ac display?
No, it can only interface to stereo controls on the steering wheel.
Would this work for older vehicles like a 79 bronco without blocking other components
Do I have to plug in my iPhone 11 Pro Max in order for the Apple Car Play to work? Can I make and receive calls and play music via Bluetooth?
I always prefer for sony
Present I am using sony xav ax8000
No clarity and expensive also if u go unbranded andriod its give more features and clarity and cheaper also instead of spending lot of amnt to get this system
If there’s no AUX input, can I still use the AUX input that comes standard in my car??
Nice video!
Thanks!👌
I caught a Raiders of the Lost Podcast in the wild…
Lol awesome! Where at?
You do a like their update video on this? How is we link? Is this worthy.
4:12 forgetting sarah marshall. my sister would have loved this reference

does this unit have internal microphone as well? or must it use the external?
Half the time I am unable to see the screen. Sunlight washes out screen. Found visual settings but it seemed to only change the light on control buttons. Sometime useless when using map. Any suggestions?
Adjust the angle, it solves it most of the time.
So clean signal at volume 36 out of 50 max isn’t very impressive.
Is the RCA signal also clean only to 36?
So, I'm forced to over-charge my phone when traveling with GPS because it can only work while connected?
I do think wired Android auto is sufficient. I don't know anyone who uses wireless. .
Great review
Thanks! Personally, I think wired is better too. Most people who want wireless don't realize their phones are going to die quickly
So what do u think about the stinger elev8 or is this better I heard andriod units are not to good what so I think I'm looking for a new radio for my 2018 Altima
From $500-800 we need Hd display and capacitive touch.
Agree
Its funny because now capacitive touch is outdated....wtf its literally 2020 and we don't have 1080p hd screens standard on these cars. Amazon is selling Chinese 10 inch tablets for $150 that they have to purposely handicap to sell more expensive models. Outrageous.
