I would love to see much more study on how Tortie/Calico and Orange Cats track to normal female/male cat behavior respectively. Given the overall nature of the environment I would (personally) assume that to be the case.
I did not grow up with cats, so I was never familiar with any stereotypes of cat breeds. I found out pretty soon after getting my tortie that she has some attitude😂She frequently starts fights with my tabby when my tabby is trying to nap or cuddling me. My tortie is super loving, only with me though, so I don’t she likes me giving my tabby attention. i’m her safe space, she needs lots of cuddles and pets from me or she’ll get that attitude. bad attention is still attention with her.
I had a beautiful, regal diluted tortie for 17 years. Gentle, loyal, passive giant. Worst resting bitch face I’ve ever seen. 😂. I loved that cat more than life. She hated other cats and only loved dogs. She was an angel on this earth. I love you so much, Dooley. Thank you for loving me so hard.
I am wondering if enough samples (tortie cats) were used for the study. Of all the cats (pets and strays) that have somehow been a part of my home (inside or outside), torties have consistently displayed more attitude than other breeds. The jury is still out on this...

One of my torties has a serious case of rbf but is very even tempered and is a one woman cat. My other younger tortie is a floofy flirt.

We would definitely like to have a larger sample size. We're working on some follow up surveys to address that.
