I don't think so. He's a well known balladeer, at least here in asia particularly here in the Philippines. Perhaps, he seems like "underated" because he's not so into pop music. He sticks to his roots which is ballad.

His accent in Spanish is pretty good, but he brings some musicality from English: you can tell that's an american singing wonderfully in Spanish!
