An amazing thing happened to me the other day. Watching your videos has inspired me to go trash picking for myself so I was going around the neighborhood seeing if anyone threw anything interesting out. I came across a nice looking entertainment center that someone was throwing out. The lady noticed me looking at it and because it wouldn't fit in my car told me that her husband would bring it over to my house when he got home. The next day her husband shows up to my house with a brand new entertainment center that they just decided to buy for me a total stranger they didn't even know. Apparently they've been feeling compelled to do nice things for people because there's so much negativity in the world. It meant a lot too because I'm a broke college student that could've never afforded the nice entertainment center they bought for me.
That's crazy! Glad to hear it all work out, people are amazing
Wow! Impressive!
Jaded Fox what a nice couple 👍💓😆
Made my day reading this. Made me very happy 😃
Ur a college student in this new world. U don’t understand that era of ppl going out of their way to help. That’s typical for their generation to give or help.
It might be shocking to ur generation, but if u don’t model after these types of ppl, u will live in a negative world. Do the same and help others back so that U become a role model too. I have seen ppl come out with collectibles for free when they saw curb pickers. Older ppl don’t need the stuff anymore and r happy to see it go to good use. I am 35 years old and I constantly help ppl. I have always been that way and so is my family. It’s always a pleasure for us. Millennials r too about themselves. They need to notice others needs too.
To those from outside the US, your seeing small town USA. Not all communities have curb side trash pickup like this town. many towns now use bins/ large plastic containers that trucks lift and dump. No labor except for driver. Taco is hardworking polite guy making a go collecting other people’s junk. --- Corks are worth selling at flea market. People use for art / decorations.
Mike Z Well said!
We lived in a small town back in the late 60s and early 70s, we understand. You can see from the videos that the people putting out their trash are setting it out in a way that's easy for folks to sort through for the useful things. It's Good that stuff is getting recycled.
Hey Taco, never gets old seeing the fabulous houses and the lovely yards. Here in Arizona we don't have much of that. Absolutely beautiful 🌻🌼😃
I agree! That's a big part of my enjoyment in watching. And, Taco is such a kind and hard working young man. He brings us treasure hunting with him
The weight at the bottom of filing cabinets is to weight the cabinet down, so if the upper drawer is full/heavy, the cabinet won't tip over when the drawer is opened.
That rusty wok means it's made of steel, apply a brillo or steel wool pad and it will be just fine! My cast iron skillets rust easily, a metal scrub pad and a little elbow grease and they are good to go.
I bet the garbage truck people are starting earlier to take advantage of the early morning coolness.
Yep - rust means it's a proper wok that wasn't properly maintained. Steel wool and some oil and she's off and running.
Love the neighborhoods you drive through.
They add charm to the blogs.
Glad you still found treasures not just metal!!! Always fun!!!!
That Mell-o-Rich pie tin goes for about $25 on ebay.
In my town when it’s going to be over a certain temperature in the summer , the garbage men start an hour early. My guys are picking up at 5:30. Crazy. Wakes up whole neighborhood , but it’s so hot they need to.
OMG Taco Stacks enoying all you do. Hugs and kisses for Queen Salsa. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!!!!
I'd pick up all kitchen stuff, especially dishes and cups, for flea market or garage sales. People buy them to create garden decors.
I really enjoy seeing the older homes in your video.
I wouldn't be surprised if the empty doll boxes are worth somthing on ebay😂
they are and also there are a ton of FB groups that buy/sell that stuff for good money
In that old long wooden box, put some wine glasses in it and sell the metal wine cork holder together with it. Maybe you can get more for it.
You make it look easy Taco. Such a good channel.
I was reading other people's comments, and I'm only going to say, have a great day Taco, thx 🐾
Great video!!! Can hardly wait for the next one. Thx.
U can easily scrape the rust off those woks, then add cooking oil inside and let it absorb. Always treat ur pans anyway, never leave them dry. That is an old pie dish!! They sell well on eBay. The rattan wicker chair is a collectible, it can sell high in the right store.
I’d love it if you started every video with Salsa! I really miss having Golden Retrievers...they are the best, the sweetest, the most beautiful!
I’ve gotten old and must have a “little” dog now. I love him tremendously, but his personality is very different from all the big calm dogs I used to have.
Nice scrap day. I enjoy the opening scenes. Ceiling fans are pretty easy to replace, just like a normal light, but most people don't do the balancing which can wear out the fan quicker. I have only really replaced a Ceiling fan a couple of times. However, I have switched out some normal lights for fan/lighting quite a few times.
Taco, I work as an archaeologist. Have monitored the removal of a landfill dating from 1956-1960. Landfills seal each layer of trash with soil, and the result is that little air or water gets in. As a result, paper (newspapers, phone books, greeting cards) were preserved also perfectly. I even saw a recognizable banana peel.
People throw stuff in the trash because they don't want it anymore.
Our city harvested our landfill a few years ago to extend its life. They removed all the metal, tires etc.
Best Find...Antique Pie Pan 👍😎👍
I bet the a/c works well. Many ppl change them out for more BTU’s or get central air. I bet the washing machine and weed wacker works too. Those oil heaters in ur van usually work too and give great heat.
That broken wooden box will be perfect to hang on the wall with artificial flowers. Maybe sit it on the side and just drop a few of those flowers you picked up in it. They don’t have to be arranged or fill the box, just as a hint to the buyers what it can be used for. 🇺🇸 love your cap!
I love old boxes ... So much history !
The Brass Planter is nice!!Will bring you a few dollars...the OLD greenish wooden box will find his FINAL home..Lol😃
Your such a good guy, I'm really suprised you didn't pick up that trashcan you grabbed the weed eater from. Oh well, so it goes. Have a groovy day and enjoy.
Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!😁☀️
We have 7 ceiling fans. Couldn't go without them, even with AC constantly in Houston Texas. We often can fix one, but we only replace rarely, usually change the capacitor. Have them in our Athens Greece home.
Good eye on that pie tin. I looked it up on eBay and it’s from the 40’s. Various prices for it but def impressed that you knew it was that old. I was going to be sick if you had left that old wooden box! I would kill for it. That will sell easily-broken or not! Good day!
We've had the same ceiling fan for 25 years and it's still running.
Ours is running 24 hrs a day since 1987, because we have a vaulted ceiling and just let it run. Still fine, only the little chains sometimes tinkle against the light fixture glass so we change the speed for a few seconds.
Really like how so many of these homes are so close to the street it’s pretty cool most of the places you go through man I really kind a like historic looking nice middle class neighborhoods old school
I love hearing the mourning doves in the background.
Qq
Wqqqwqqqqqwwqwwqwwqqwwww
I was going to say move your truck nearer so it will make it easier for you and you did bless you and take care ❤
Another great adventure with you - thanks Taco - KEEP living the dream :-)
Nice traveling along with you on the scrap, recycle, repurpose journey..
I love to watch Texan picker. He like to watch your videos.
I love your videos taco love your entrio music don’t change it watch you all the time glad you save stuff going to the land fill
Thanks taco for another trash picking adventure! Peace!
Another great score for you, Taco! I love watching you pick up stuff for Renee too. xx
I am always amazed at the amount of fake flowers that you find.
Take those Easter eggs there might be other stuff in the box ! Take those old wooden boxes people love them to decorate with . I see money money money (gas money ) pick up some of those other things you normally don’t take and try to sell them ! The planter was great ! People will put a flower in an anything that’s interesting ! Keep livin the dream !🐄🐎🐖🐈🐇🐓
Keep saving the planet, one item at a time. Fun stuff
People can use that toolbox thing as a planter and put plants in pots in it , that would look cool
Really good pickings!! Good decor items & plenty of scrap!! ✌️
Hey, Taco. Just an FYI when you find empty American Girl boxes, you may want to pick them up. People pay pretty good money for them😉
I always want to pack/repack your truck for you. LOL😂
Ceiling fan installed in 1987. Still there. My brother saw someone in his area regularly trash picking but didn't think the guy had a YT channel.
Ha, ours is from 1987 too. Works fine. It might outlive us, we're in our 70s now. 😁
Man I love these vids. Doing this in my area leads to a lot of sketchy situations.
Those shelves would be perfect to put stuff on in your storage building, like cleaners, rags, WD-40 that kind of stuff so when you’re fixing or working on stuff you know what I mean.
Oh Taco. You could have taken that nice wall clock as replacing the battery unit is like a dollar or so in any Walmart or craft store.
I have had great luck with my 4 Hunter ceiling fans, more than 20 years.
I really enjoy your adventures. Thanks for the hats and shirts. Look forward to more videos. Take care and God Bless
Glad you like them!
the corks make a nice tabletop embedded in clear resin.
The only tricky thing about replacing a ceiling fan is getting it level. Especially in an older house after it's settled some.
When you picked up the artificial flowers for your friend they seemed to be in pretty good shape; however, you kept piling heavy stuff on top of them - I wonder what they looked like when you took them out?!!
They survived :)
I thought the same thing and it made me chuckle. :)
Fake flowers can go threw a lot and still look nice !
Right! They're already broke down.
Great trash picking video Taco.Watch you everyday.
Taco. Listening to your landfill reference, I felt compelled to share.
In Egypt they have found ancient wood working tools, the metal is completely gone while the wood remains after centuries. Of course it is a dry climate. Just sharing, Peace Tom.
Does a museum get the woodworking tools?
Awesome haul Taco that pie pan I do believe it might be old you and Salsa have a great night 😊
You need a dolly. You could have sold the plastic eggs at the flea market. In our town we go garbage picking in the evening to avoid the trash truck.
MAN THAT WAS ANOTHER GREAT TRASH PICKING DAY - BUT SOME OF THE STUFF YOU PICK IS ****NOT**** TRASH AND CAN BE RESOLD AT THE FLEA - YOU HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR THINGS - YES - PEOPLE THROW ANYTHING OUT - AT LEAST IT'S NOT GOING TO LANDFILL - WELL DONE AND PLEASE STAY SAVE AND CHEERS FROM AUSTRALIA !!!!
Why didn't you sit the trash can upright?
Distracted this time.😊
I thought the same thing, but I notice he takes what he wants without disturbing or making a mess . I think he just did that without thinking.
I was wondering the same. Taco always puts things back the way they were or better.
HIGHLY FAVORED Wow!
I always tell my kid that you should leave things the way you found them. Not trying to make excuses for him, but even when a light is left on somewhere, there may be a purpose to which you are not aware. Maybe the light is on for a reason, so unless he was the one to knock it over, it is wise for him to leave it alone.
Yea Taco and the princess Salsa! Nice mixture of treasures.Agree with poster should of wrighted that trash can because the home owner might think you did it.Just sayn.👍😀🙏♥️🇺🇸
The wok just needs a good cleaning then oil it down really well and it will be great. Like an Iron skillet, you need to wipe it down good with oil every time you get finished just wipe it down good. But you have to use the right amount of oil when cooking in them also. Then before you know it you won't have to treat them with oil anymore. people use ceiling fan blades in crafts also those corks.
Should gave grabbed the clear pie as well oh well peace
Those clear pie plates sell fast... especially if they're Pyrex or Anchor Hawking !
You do like to walk.lol Thanks for another great video. Enjoyed Taco. Always a Fan.
The filing cabinets have a weight so they don’t tip over when you open the drawers. Files can be very heavy.
You should get a dolly for heavy items like washers, stoves and such
Love watching you before work...Thanks 😊
I'M ALWAYS PRAYING YOU FIND A LOT OF SCRAP,METALS,IRON....
Great vlog Taco, always like to watch your adventures, have a great weekend pal stay safe and all the best from the UK near Liverpool
My dad was a mechanic all of his life and he had mostly snap-on tools, he told me that the snap-on drivers have at the minimum 2 million dollars worth of tools on there trucks at any one time.
Those American Girl boxes at 9:40 are worth about $20 each plus shipping if they are in decent shape. Empty boxes sell really well.
What do people do with the boxes?
Good ceiling fans last a long time so it's worth it to spend the money. I've had to change light and fan speed switches but the motors just keep going.
The American Girl boxes, if in really good condition, will sell on eBay, maybe FB Marketplace! People who sell dolls like to ship in boxes!
Up here people aren’t putting out stuff the likes of what you find. Keep at it👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙂
Over here people dont even have the likes of what you find never mind throw it out
Taco I'm surprised that you did not stand the trash can back up. Normally you would. Because your a nice guy.
You left the hexagonal fish tank...that's an easy 10 bucks at the flea market.
Taco you should do a video of the items you pick up in the trash if they work or not.
KEEP LIVIN' THE DREAM***PEACE!
the wooden box contains a car radio holder for oldtimers. I think it is worth around $ 20 . Greetz from the Netherlands, Groningen
Just an FYI, if you don't already know, before you scrap those A.C.'s , take off the side panels with the frames and sell at the flea market. I am looking for a set....they sell, new, depending on the model, for $50. to $80. I went out picking Wednesday night and Thursday morning....not one AC to be found!
Those wine corks can be used for a lot of different craft projects.
I think it was a good bet to pick up the old wood box. Someone is going to decorate with it once they have had fun cleaning it up. Let us know.
I like the wooden boc, it's unique looking. I'd buy it at a flea Market.
Taco love to watch your videos. The chair u picked up could be a keeper not scrap. If we lived closer id buy it off u in a hot second! Good day my friend.
Hi Taco Stacks. Play the odds. Washer it’s been a why’ll. 2 air conditioners .fun garbage day
A Steel Wok will rust but u can remove it with Ajax then dry well & oil it. Rust on steel or cast iron pans can provide iron in your diet.
Taco ceiling fans sometimes last a long time
@@samanthab1923 Ours is from 1987. Still works. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Nobody sees it but us, it's 15 feet up in a cathedral ceiling. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway. 😊
Lol I figured you would stand the trash up where you got electric weed eater
looked to be broken
I'd have taken that box too--wiped down, cleaned up, looks like it would have a place on a cabinet or table w/jars of jam, jelly etc etc
The place you found the first aid kit had a box of antique toys.
Test the heaters once it cools off $15-$20 all day long
Taco, ya did well today
I would love to buy the wine wall decor with corks
"Is that rust? I wouldn't want to eat off that."
I have ceiling fans in my boys room that have been there and work since the house was built 30 plus years ago.
It is mrs. smith pie pan old my brother’s used to work there in Pottstown pa. 1970’s
I also am in the Houston area and I agree about needing a ceiling fan. It is a necessity here in Texas.
What a day so much trash collection
