Thank you for the recap. Although there were a couple of key points I would have added. Also bunchy didnt kill the robber of the store he only crippled him
Thanks a lot for this really appreciate you! One of my favourite series ever I finished season 7 a couple years back and have only just seen there's a movie out!! 🤯
I love this show, cause Ray is a legit tough guy, Liev Schreiber he does such a excellent job capturing the body language and mannerisms, he always comes off calm and collected, but silent and dominant, it reminds me of mystic river when the detective talks about the shoulders body language, great actor and one of my favorite shows
Well that was just a brilliant summary, thanks very much. I'm watching Ray Donovan THE MOVIE later this evening so this was a much appreciated refresher! Mark - Dublin, IRELAND
The show got canceled due to Jon Voight's political stance. He stated on Twitter that Donald Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.. Cancel Culture era unfortunately. But yes one of the greatest TV series in my lifetime for sure ...just finished the movie ..Wow! You're going to really like it! Amazing recap thank you so much I think I missed season 7 was lost a bit in the movie but now it all makes better sense! Thanks again Im going to share
Sucks they robbed us of a full final season, the flashback stuff was great, and they managed a satisfying conclusion in less than 2 hours...the show and fans deserved better.
You mentioned a lot. I stopped watching the show a few seasons ago. You didn't mention the boxing protégé who stole Abby purse, the escort service, Sully crime family takedown, and mickey working with Aremian mafia.
I watched the movie premiere last night, and I'm mournful yet satisfied with the long-awaited finale turned out. The experience the past seven years was nothing but stupendous watching Ray Donovan, complete with the dysfunctional angsts that plagued the family Donovans and the heinous circumstances along with them. I appreciate Liev Schreiber and the producers attended our request in creating the movie after its cancellation two years ago. The screening turned out well as expected, and the cast players were nothing but outstanding in their supporting roles throughout, with Ray's pursuit that Mickey will finally meet his doom for his destructive and criminal exploits that incriminated the lives of his family. I knew Mickey was going to be gunned down eventually by no other than Ray but was shocked Bridget was the intended who killed him who felt Grandpa was the enforcer who destroyed their lives with his manipulating and insufferable plots. Although Bridget had blood in her hands in killing her Grandfather, and the times he savaged himself from getting clipped by Ray and his detractors, the death of Mickey Donovan was the most gratifying as a splendid wrap in this movie. The family, in emotional turmoil, was finally free of Mickey's lethal escapades. But it came with a challenging cost. Daryll left the country after he murdered the son of a Sullivan. Terry, whose Parkinson's' was worsening, needed to be institutionalized, and Bridget will remain a traumatized loner after losing Smitty. But out of all the scowled victims in this group, a happy ending ensued. It appeared Bunchy soon be reuniting with his ex Theresa and daughter. After his death's pursual of Mickey, I was looking forward to Ray would suspend the fixer profession and distant his family lastingly for the scars and upheavals he unwillingly placed upon them and bound to a distant location where he deserved solace and solitude by himself. But instead, Ray will indeed survive from his gunshot wound and spend time behind bars, or maybe permanently, for taking the rap for Mickey's murder. Like his father, who was incarcerated 20 years for being wrongly convicted of killing a movie actor, Ray surrendered for executing Mickey to defend and protect Bridget. What a thrilling indulgence these seven years have been watching this series, and although it was a thrilling ride, all good things have to end regrettably. It's hard to believe Ray Donovan will be no more, and I wish nothing but the best for the cast members, especially Schreiber and Voight, in their future endeavors. RIP Mickey "Scumbag" Donovan. Watching you carried out in a body bag was an exhilarating moment I'll never forget from this day forward.
So helpful - thank you! Was so annoyed Showtime didn’t provide a recap. Could barely remember any of this! Season 7 felt like a million years ago.

Best thing Showtime ever pumped out
I will certainly buy the Ray Donovan collection with the movie
I will however never pay for Showtime ever again
