    What an amazing episode, I love how Barry realizes and accepts that he’s a terrible person (saying he needs to turn himself in) but gets cut down a second later. If he had realized this any sooner he could’ve changed but by then it was far too late.

      At the same time, it kinda proves Barry's point about having a higher purpose. As soon as he admits fault his life is ended. Such a deep, amazing show. Definitely will be rewatching.

    John didn’t really live in denial because he never got the full context of what Barry did.
    All he knows is that Barry used to killed a lot of people as a soldier and after retiring from the force (as Sally told him) but never got into specific about who are his victims and once he knew it was Janice, it was in the context said by the press and the film that Barry was a victim who got manipulated by his evil teacher Gene to get rid of Janice’s body.
    So in the end, John isn’t really in denial of his father’s actions. In fact, John is proud of what he knows about his dad because it (falsely) confirmed that all those bullshits Barry had been telling him about how he’s such a great hero turned out to be true.

    • @binasweetp
      @binasweetp Год назад +3

      I think it also portrays that Sally never chose to tell John the truth. Like all teenagers he is curious about his other parent and find his own version of truth.

      While being held captive by Hank and his gang, Sally tells John that her and Barry were fugitives from the law and that Barry murdered a bunch of people and she had murdered someone as well.

  • @Panama_Red
    @Panama_Red Год назад +47

    The attack on the house was definitely in Sally's head. If they were actual assassins they would've finished the job, the hitman all in black behind her was about her demons following her. Also, one of them shouts a line like "he's not breathing" about the son, that was her guilt about drugging him just so she could take a nap.

    • @RuFi0000000
      @RuFi0000000 Год назад +2

      Also the repeated "what did you do to my eye?" - she's re-living the stabbing, it's the same audio from the guy she attacked. Also the fact that an actual truck smashes through her house and the entire thing seems to tilt sideways and throw her back, even though a truck slamming through her house wouldn't have tilted the house, it would have just plowed right through. And after all that her kid is still sound asleep. It was a complete hallucination and nervous breakdown.

    • @robbaholic
      @robbaholic Год назад

      Yeah it was just weird that when John woke up and saw Sally sitting there crying, the house was still a wreck. In that moment they should have shown the house looking normal, to show that it was just Sally dealing with the guilt of killing the biker; which ironically she never admits to, even though she tries to convince Barry to turn himself in, saying that’s the only way that you can be forgiven. She is honestly the worst person in the show.

      @ramonoski Год назад

      Hank did kind of admit it but he immediately called off Fuches' deal, perhaps because he doesn't want to be seen as weak or because being "someone else" spares him the pain and guilt. Fuches realized Hank was serious and that's when he opens fire. But not really to kill Hank, rather to create an opening for him to save Barry's kid

  • @Gleem1313
    @Gleem1313 Год назад +12

    I think there is much more to say about those who finally reveal and accept what they are, those who accept who people think they are(Cousineau), and those who think they are one kind of person (Fuchs has no heart), but actually deceive themselves (he shows he does have a heart in saving Barry's son). There is also a ton of symbolism around the Purgatory images at the beach and religious symbolism too. Barry likes to clothe himself in God, "religion," and the Bible to pretend he is doing what God bids, and yet, his actions speak louder than his words (and delusion about being Christian to make himself feel better about his murderous ways). Perhaps this is a commentary on America's Christian Nationalism? Who knows? Certainly, Noho Hank has some of that delusion, not about the love of God, but about his supposed love for Cristobal. Aaaaaaanyway, does anyone have any ideas about what Hank saw before he died?He looked as if he were seeing something or someone terrifying. It wasn't just a simple death scene. Noho Hank is a terrific actor. Loved the show so much. I am glad it ended before the writer's strike.

    • @FurbyCentipede
      @FurbyCentipede Год назад +4

      I think noho hank was looking towards cristobal one way or another. I think its meant to be up to interpretation but i think either: he’s hallucinating similar to barry was when he was poisoned and is seeing cristobal looking at him, judging him. Or in a simpler sense its the statue itself, he looks toward the hand of the man he loved and realizes with dawning horror how/where/when he went wrong. Somethin along those lines is my guess

    • @amandafranklin2901
      @amandafranklin2901 Год назад +5

    Loved Barry great show. But my one gripe is how they clearly changed writers on Noho Hank, completely assassinating his character (pardon the pun). He started as a very eccentric Eastern European, a clear individual type of man who did not understand American culutre or fasion or manorisms, made all the stranger by his alopecia. But in the final seasons, hes just flamboyantly gay.
    And before you ask, whats wrong with that? Id just like to say that there is nothing wrong with being gay. For Hank, in earlier seasons, his homosexuality was one of many many traits which created an interesting indivudal. In the final season its his only characteristic. Poor Hank got gay Flanderized.
