Wasn't expecting a breakdown of susumu hirasawa's music as well. As an audio engineer I find that extremely interesting.
This was probably the best breakdown of Paranoia Agent I've seen on RUclips! It's a hard series to explain lol
I felt so smart thinking I had an idea of what was going on by episode 6, but as always satoshi exposed me for perpetuating the same kind of rumor / theories that made lil slugger into a monster. He always specifically exposes people who think they have an idea. God tier writer and director
Literally anything by Satoshi kon=masterpiece.
This is a perfectly accurate statement.
Note you may not like his works but they are undeniably excellent.
Your essay is a gem! It's amazing, congratulations and thank you for sharing!
This is fantastic! I still remember half-watching the first episode on Adult Swim, sitting down for the second on a whim, and getting blown away. It feels like there'd be a lot to dig into if I watched it again, but even at the first run-through, it left an impression.
Always so sad that it seems like paranoia agent never gets its flowers! Excited to listen to this tomorrow while cooking christmas breakfast 💕
Thanks for helping me digest Paranoia Agent-- I watched it a second time as an adult and it's been stewing in my brain. It's such a wonderful work.
This doesn't necessarily have to do with Paranoia Agent or Satoshi Non, but whenever non-American English speakers look down on American English, I cite your videos as an example of the listenability of American English. This is how smooth and intelligent American English can sound....
Anyway, I have great respect for Satoshi Kon. I would have loved to have seen what he could accomplish when he's Hayao Miyazaki's age.
That means a lot since I'm Dyslexic and stumble over my words a lot. I'm glad you enjoy listening! Japanese pronunciation always throws me off because it's simultaneously more simply and more complicated than I expect.
I just finished the series for the first time this morning. You're essay was excellent and I came away feeling exactly as you have. I need to let it sit with me for a while before I do a rewatch.
Satoshi Kon to this day remains my favorite anime story teller. I wish Dreaming Machine could be made. Praise his work.
i watched Paranoia Agent about a year ago, and i liked it but didnt quite *Get It*. but! the way you explained the themes really clicked some ideas into place for me! the desire to escape from some sort of responsibility/difficulty really is a driving motivation for each character, but i somehow didn't fully connect that until now. i'm definitely going to rewatch the show with your video in mind!! thank you for the insight, and the great video!

I mean, if you care about none of the context, sure
Now, if I can only get you to pronounce Japanese words and names like a Japanese....
Not the rumor weed shout out??? I am the target audience
