that Depends on the crop factors some say 0.78 other say 0.79 and i've heard also 0.80 that means some say 24-50mm other say 24-51 and 25-52mm but there is only one truth
Thanks for this Damian. My Fujifilm GFX 50S is on its way to me via FedEx. I got the 45, 63, 110, 120, 250 and 32-64 lens. Will use it shortly for my up and coming VOGUE shoot. Can't wait! Your images look amazing with this lens.
the GFX system is expensive, but when you try the gear yourself, you cannot avoid the conclusion - this is the exquisite gear of any (!!!) sub-10000 usd gear today. this lens is no exception- before owning it, i had no idea that optics could be like this - and i own several nikkor high end lenses as well ( 105 f2 DC, 300 mm f4 PF etc...)...
Depending on your needs I would argue the 32-64mm is possibly the best GFX lens. Personally, I think the 110mm f2 is up there too but it has a more specific purpose ie. portraiture.
I just sold my last Canon lens yesterday and only have my 1Dx body left, so I'm considering switching to the GFX50S (or R)... and this lens as well as the 110mm would be my go-to options. I tend to do more studio work than anything else. Thoughts on those two lens choices?
Nice review and images, this lens seems to separate the subject nicely and would be well suited for landscape and street photography. Also the. Range is 25mm to 51mm.
Damian Brown it happens to all of on YT at times, thinking about photography, the lens and shooting a video and the sound. It doesn't stop it being a great video and lens.
Thanks for this review man! I am looking at picking up the GFX100, and this seems like a flexible option for wides! I mostly shoot portraiture for work but I love to shoot wide-medium for personal photography. I will also be getting a converted Minolta Rokkor 58mm 1.2 for artistic portraiture and lowlight performance, and the 110mm F2 for high end portraiture and some candid live event stuff! I am excited to move into the medium format world!
Lenses don't "suck in light". An f/4 is an f/4. The sensor is responsible for taking in light and 50MP on a sensor that size is why it does a good job taking in light while using an f/4 lens. Secondly, the random snapshots you showed don't really do this camera justice because they're just that; snapshots, and unedited ones by the looks of it. People looking it buy these cameras plan on getting it for the increased resolution and dynamic range, neither of which was really explored in this video
It's an expression, not a scientific term. Lenses are necessary for a controlled passage of light to the sensor. Yes it doesn't work in the same way as a vacuum, but then there are many idioms in the English language that are fascinating in their flexibility with reality. All my images for consideration are untouched because you could edit many a file to death and put them on RUclips only for the compression to reduce them to the same. I wouldn't expect somebody to buy solely based on my videos, no chance. If I were more technical in these kind of videos yes I could measure and demonstrate the extremes of the dynamic range etc and that would be appealing to some for sure.
@@DamianBrown I understand you don't mean it literally. My point is the lens has nothing to do with light performance, but rather how the sensor gathers light. 50MP on a 43x33 sensor is the reason it does well in low light. That's a lot of real estate for that many pixels so those pixels are enormous by comparison of the same amount of pixels squeezed onto a FF or even an APSC sensor. Larger pixels = better light gathering performance and better color rendering. That's all I meant
25-51mm (35mm Equivalent) OOPS .. and GRR. I knew this... why do I love 21mm so much?!
I got it from www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/gfx/fujinon_lens_gf32_64mmf4_r_lm_wr/features/
See, not my fault :P
Just a small correction, you said 21 to 51 equivalent in the beginning, I think it is 25-51mm equivalent.
Grr... and to think I'd double checked it as well... 0.79x was never my best timetable run!
Do not worry, even Fujifilm makes the same mistake :-) www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/gfx/fujinon_lens_gf32_64mmf4_r_lm_wr/features/
You know... this is where I got it from!!!! Thanks. I knew I read the official page :D Blame Fuji :D

I'm sure you'll get way better images on your shoot! Thanks for commenting, and enjoy!
Thank You Damian! @@DamianBrown

Absolutely. I'm dying to get my. hands on the GFX100S now.

I do need to use the 110 a lot more but general purpose, you could be right.
I mean the 32-64 for general.
Me want.
Next video... nifty fifty... gfx style :D
This video is so sharp i thought it was 4K
What's the music in the background please???
Something random from the youtube audio library

I think that would be my route too. Like you I'd try it all out first because it's a bit of a jump but really the quality is superb.
this v 63 f/2.8?
I'm gonna get to that :D video is lined up and ready to unleash :D
one stop faster, sharper yes but slight by tiny margin
Nice review and images, this lens seems to separate the subject nicely and would be well suited for landscape and street photography. Also the. Range is 25mm to 51mm.
Quite right, I even checked on the official site and still got 21 stuck in my brain. I'm getting too old for this :D

SoundsandImages I really appreciate this. Thanks

That minolta will be fun!
I’m watching your video in the United States we use a different unit of measurement here.
Good point Earl
More like 24 to 50mm.
25-51... Not sure why I'm so fixated on 21 :D

Thanks for the video, but... I can't concentrate at all because your nails! 👀
I'm going to guess you've never played sports or worked in a stressful job if that's throwing you off.
