I share your opinion of this tool. I recently recieved this tool from xtool to review. Good are the free updates and it is auto auth capable but compared to the a30m which is close in price it is Not near as good as the a30m. The a30m has bidirectional controls and free updates and can be used on any phone or iPad for a bigger screen but is not auto auth capable. I wish they would have just have upgraded the a30m to be auto auth capable and they would have had a winner for the value. I also have the D9S pro which is not auto auth capable at this time but I use the bypass cable which can be a pita some times. The newest recent d9s that are out are auto auth capable. I hope for a future update on V7 vci d9s tools for auto auth. Xtool , I hope your listening as I own 3 of your products now and wish for your success, it helps my success as well when I have the tools I need.
what are the other scantools in the same price range youre talking about that youd use instead pf this one other than topdon

I would recommend xtool a30m it offers more functions and goes on sale often.

Yes I agree the a30m offers such a great value for the price and can be found for cheaper than this scan tool. Personally the D5S doesn't offer enough
Make sure you email report to yourself first, then send report to customer from your email account.

With updates, I'm sure it will improve, but as of right now, I would pass on it
Sucks? Why so. It's cheap has free updates and gives a diyer useful data then deletes the engine management light. Seems OK to me for the money.
