2006 caravan. Ramming into a trailer hitch. Radiator/Transmission-cooler AC Condenser of the EGR valve. Alternator and AC connectors. I replaced radiator, condenser, fan assembly. Thanks to youtube videos like yours. I disconnected the AC. Hot wired the dual fan unit. Took the top off a EGR at pullapart. Runs great. Temp is just left of center. 5 volt modulate pulsed signal was a big learning curve for me. I am going to try today. Thanks for the caveman skilled mechanic like myself.
Hey man nice video! The walkthrough process was perfect. Didn't over explaining everything taking forever, yet enough details for anyone watching to get it done. Wish they were all this simple. Appreciate your time and contribution
0:02 Great Video ! Was wondering if my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L V6 also has a Fan Relay like yours in addition to the fan relay which sits in front of my battery screwed on by a screw, which just hang down on the frame ! Please advise! Thank You!
nice video...how ever it looked like you were not on the correct pin at the last part when you commanded it on with the scan tool and showed the light working....looks like you were on the regular ground and NOT the signal wire
Should both fans work at the same time? I don't overheat but when I have been driving and then stop and turn off engine, a lot of coolant bubbles out of the overflow. I know the fan on the passenger side comes on when I turn on the AC. It is in the 90s and humid just so you know. When sitting in traffic, the gauge moves up to about halfway but never higher. If it isn't the fans I believe I have a bigger problem.
what is the tool at 4:49 ? i replaced the fuse and relay, that cleared my code with the FIXD app and scanner, but the fans don't kick on. I want to see if I can jump the connection to test the fan.
ty for the video. what about if only one fan is kicking on? For my van, the condenser fan comes on but the engine cooling fan doesn't. No issues with overheating, but AC doesn't get as cold when it is really hot outside.
2004 caravan 2.4 liter 280K miles here. just had plugs wires cap and distributor replaced, right afterwards i noticed the cooling fan wont go on, did they disconnect the fan switch to install the diatributor and then forget to reconnect it maybe?
This relay isnt near any of the components you replaced so not sure why it would be disconnected. Check to make sure they didnt disconnect your fans for some reason and forget to plug the connectors back in.
Great video. I changed out my fan assembly, fan relay and it worked for a day. I noticed when I went to work the fan didn’t kick off and my battery was dead when I went to start it after work. Have any thoughts?
@@rileycpo definitely it happened to me. That relay can make you car seem possessed. Once I replaced it everything went back to normal with fan operation.

I thought so to he has to get a better angle to see it clearer

Yeah usually just one fan with ac off depending on the car I believe the caravan is one fan without AC.
I'm getting a non constant power to the relay..any ideas?

Power probe
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for doing this video, now I know what to look for 😅

I would check and see if that fan bad. Put 12 volts to it and see if it runs
@@HooptiesGarage mechanic said it was getting voltage but wouldn't turn on. The fuses checked out fine.
@@jdustan if the fan is getting power down at connector to fan and it won't turn on then the fan motor is bad
Best most well explained video I've seen on this subject thsk you[
What about the coolant temp sensor? Doesn't it play into the equation?
Yes it can its helpful to have a scan tool with live data to monitor the temp and see if what it's reading makes sense
@Hooptues Garage, which scan tool are you using?
Launch v431

Where do you get the jumper cables from?
I got a collection of them on Amazon. You can make your own but they are cheap online
@@HooptiesGarage do you have links for it. I just have the same problem but can’t them

Might be a faulty/stuck relay even new they can be junk
@@HooptiesGarage I was thinking that as well. Could that cause the fans to stay on after it’s been shut off?
@@rileycpo definitely it happened to me. That relay can make you car seem possessed. Once I replaced it everything went back to normal with fan operation.
What scan tool can I buy ?thanks my van is dodge caravan 1999 v6 3.3
Really depends on your budget both autel and launch make scan tools that start about $200 or so on up
Helpful, thank you very much.
What scan tool is that?
Launch v431
Are relay switches expensive?
Depends usually not too bad
$ 70 dlls at Autozone on line $ 30 dlls dealer much higher $150 dlls plus
Great job thanks
So I did the bypass and the fans kick in bought a new relay and still won’t work ?? What do u think it is
You may not be getting a signal from the HVAC control on dash, time to get out a test light and start checking.
Did you figure out whats wrong with it, Im having the same problem.
@@Tengs27 after I drove the car I shut it off and turn it on and it automatically started working don’t know what’s happening
@@trxpem7789 It's a Chrysler. lol!
The fan should turn on when you run it long enough
They won't turn on if you have a bad relay like shown in the video
When should the fans turn on
Thanks
Thank you
Do you think the problem is ecm When take off heat sensor. It turning fan . New heat sensor plug in. The fan not turn over heating
