Got the Tentsla and we’re very pleased with it. With a 12 volt DC pump to inflate it, you can get it pumped up in less than 5 minutes and then finish everything else (remaining stakes and shades and zippers zipped in about another 10-15 minutes. Even easier and quicker to pack up.
Hi, yes! Initially I didn't see them but came across them towards the end of the set up and put them in. Instructions would have helped if there were any. :-)
Hi. Yes it can be tricky. I found after you fold the corner so it looks like a triangle you pull the corner into you and at the same time twist it down and push forward. Almost like twisting a bread tie. If you try a couple of times and can't get it, try the other corner. The metal bands in the seams have to flip just right. I had to try a few times before I got it right. Good luck 👍.
John, you might be able to sew a tab on the tent bottom to pull it out a bit. As for the gaps, maybe some flexible magnetic strips, that way you can bend the magnets for a better fit.
The idea of this tent seems fine; not so great in execution. I have a Napier Sportz-to-go tent that I have used the last 3 years with a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq. I have now switched cars to a Tesla MY. I have not tried the tent on it yet. The tent may be a little too small. I will test one of these days. What I found with that tent is that I had to innovate some solutions to various things like gaps (mosquitos) or rain leaking in. The roofline of the Ioniq was perfect for rain to flow directly into the tent; the Model Y has a similar roof slope. I would be interested to see what your experience is with that. I had to create a barrier with a tarp; once I perfected the technique, it just became part of the routine of setting up the tent. Setup typically took an hour or less. We enjoyed it for three years. We'll see if we can use the same tent this year with our MY. I had thought of switching to this tent, but after your review I will be rethinking that idea. Thank you for your effort and video.
This tent comes with a flap that covers most of the roof and is supposed to prevent rain from running back into the tent. We have a trip planned in about 3 weeks and I'll provide an update after that. How are you enjoying your Model Y? We love ours.
We are known for taking 2 and 3k mile road trips. We usually do a combination hotel and camping with the camping reserved for our primary destinations. Along the way through, we enjoy nice hotels. Saves the hassle of loading and unloading the car multiple times. Thanks for the comment!
I bought this tent last August, we took it out for the first time and the set up was pretty easy. Putting it back on the bag helped us meet lots of sympathetic camping neighbors who felt bad for us.... we all ended up frustrated with putting the tent back in the bag and could not get it to fold up properly. Honestly, you made it look pretty simple. I have to give this tent a big thumbs down. I think I want an inflatable one from Tentsla
@ToniSexton-z2b sorry to hear about that and I can agree it isn't the easiest to set up and take down. In the first video I did on the tent I listed that as one of the cons to it. I practiced with it a few times in my backyard before taking it camping. I will tell you, I still have to manipulate it occasionally because the flat metal rods in the frame have to pop into the right position. Recommendation is to lay it out in your yard when you have time to experiment with it without pressure. Try to fold it and if you get frustrated walk away and come back in a few minutes. Think of it as a puzzle you know you can solve. :-) Good luck and hope you enjoy whichever tent you select!
Worst tent ever! Do not purchase this tent or buy from Tesloid. You will be wasting your hard earned money! We used this tent on 3 occasions and on the third time we had windy weather. Despite Tesloid’s advertising it does not stand up to windy weather and was totally trashed! The structure and material is flimsy and easily caves in. We were also left with marks on the back end of our model y! The company did not respond to my email advising them of what happened- very poor customer support!

I'll have to check that one out. Thanks for the comment.
Hi John - 4 plastic t-bars are inserted into the flaps in the inside top corners; do you have them?

Any tips on getting this to fit back in the bag? Super frustrating and feel like I’m going to break it.

Those are great suggestions. We will be trying some different solutions as we use it over the summer. Thanks for the comment 👍.

the Tentsla tent looks to be a better choice once it's available
I'll be interested to see that one as well.
That's because you haven't seen my tent.
@@Daniel_LinYang which model do you have?
This is why I don't camp in my Tesla Y....I just get a nice 5 star hotel room and order room service

More expensive and harder to set-up than others.
Set up isn't too bad with 2 people but definitely harder than our Coleman tent. Will probably improve with practice. Thanks for the comment!
