So glad to hear your comment about ignoring the negative press re: Tesla/Elon. I feel the same way. I appreciate these videos as they are a window into EV ownership. The primary advantage of an EV is the lack of tailpipe emissions. If you are lucky enough to live in an area with the required charging and cellular infrastructure an EV might be a great choice depending on your life situation. I can’t imagine owning an EV when I was working like a dog and raising children. I can imagine owning an EV now that I have fewer obligations and more discretionary time.

    All true if the ev owner lives in an affluent urban area with cell service and access to high speed charging. Where we live in rural Vermont, there is very limited cell service an not a single high speed charger for miles. I’ve located low speed chargers at a store or two but the chargers usually have a hillbilly truck parked in front of them blocking access or a snowplow has pushed a bank of snow up in front of the chargers because they figured nobody would need them. Sad but all true.

    Great - in my experience driving gas cars across the Great Plains, driving west into the prevailing winds used considerably more fuel than driving east with the wind. An electric car might use more energy going west and less going east too.

    Tesla Owners: About the blinkers. Just use your sense of touch. There is a line between right and left. Just feel for the line and move your thumb up to turn right and down from the line to turn left. You don't have to look for anything. Keep your eyes on the road and feel the line between left and right. One simple thumb movement instead of an entire arm movement to find the old stocks. Never stop learning new things or you will be stuck in life. You have less than 100 years left. Go to your Tesla, sit inside and relax. Close your eyes and place your thumb on that line. Get a feel for it and its' position. Then move your thumb up, that's the right signal. Slide your thumb back to the line. You feel it. Slide your thumb below the line, that's left. It's that simple.

    I bought my 2024 MX about 2 months before you. I have 8K on mine. It took me about 2 months to adjust to the stalkless turn signals. Now it really makes no difference to me. The raised tactile feature between R&Lbuttons locates the proper button. I still do not like the stalkless Park/forward/reverse/Neutral shifter. I'm tall so my seat is all the way to the rear which means I have to lean forward to touch the screen. With the new 12.4.3 release the Drivers side door pops out when you get close and when you hit the interior oe exterior latch not pops put about 50%--much better. But still not as good as the older MXs. The visor works well for me --I find that as long as I don't latch the visor, I can move it up pr down to shade my eyes regardless of sun angle. I"M very pease with my purchase. I did not know about audio noice cancelling--thanks--learned something.

    I bought this tent last August, we took it out for the first time and the set up was pretty easy. Putting it back on the bag helped us meet lots of sympathetic camping neighbors who felt bad for us.... we all ended up frustrated with putting the tent back in the bag and could not get it to fold up properly. Honestly, you made it look pretty simple. I have to give this tent a big thumbs down. I think I want an inflatable one from Tentsla

    • @Coffee_Cars_and_Adventures
      @Coffee_Cars_and_Adventures 2 месяца назад

      @ToniSexton-z2b sorry to hear about that and I can agree it isn't the easiest to set up and take down. In the first video I did on the tent I listed that as one of the cons to it. I practiced with it a few times in my backyard before taking it camping. I will tell you, I still have to manipulate it occasionally because the flat metal rods in the frame have to pop into the right position. Recommendation is to lay it out in your yard when you have time to experiment with it without pressure. Try to fold it and if you get frustrated walk away and come back in a few minutes. Think of it as a puzzle you know you can solve. :-) Good luck and hope you enjoy whichever tent you select!

    EVs are much more to insure, plus tires go bald alot faster due to the high torque of EVs. And the initial price of a gas car is cheaper. Quit trying to fool people or justify your goofy purchase. Gas cars are cheaper to run/maintain and more convenient. My focus has cost me like 12 000 for the past 5 years. That includes gas, price of the used car and maintenance. Plus the gas station visits have never inconvenienced me. Also, resale of EVs is low, they dont retain value like a gasser.

      My Model Y performance is $120 per month for full coverage. Our CRV hybrid is $80. Prior to the Tesla I drove BMWs. The Tesla is less expensive than the equivalent BMW. Less expensive to maintain? Try again. No oil changes, no belts to change, brakes last >100k miles. And sorry but you can't compare the Tesla driving experience to that of a Ford Focus 😉. Thanks for the comment 👍.
