Brown your chicken on the stove first for more color then bake or if you get one big pot you can make similar Puerto Rican recipe in one pan but good video it looks delicious
Rosy, thank you for your wonderful recipes and explaining them so well. Im from Cuba so i add sofrito to everything!!! I love how you use simple and frugal ingredients that can be bought anywhere.
You have just given me the ultimate compliment. You are of Cuban descent and you are saying such nice things. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
@@RosieCooks thank you, Rosy! I truly mean it. Love your recipes and your channel. I love it when i see that you have posted a new recipe. You are doing a great job!!!
thank you for sharing this recipe! My mom and I are soon moving to a different state and as soon as we’re done with our 3 day drive, she needs to get back to work as a nurse. I’m planning on using your recipe as well as making some Mofongo so we can have a nice dinner at the new place :)
Hi Rikki, this is a knock off on the delicious food of cuban and caribbean dishes. The mix of spices and sauces make the chicken come out delicious. Good luck with your move. I recently moved to Las Vegas only ten months ago. I know how chaotic moving can be.
Thank you so very much for replying. I appreciate it very much. You went far and above any other RUclipsr I’ve come across in that you gave links for what I was asking about. What’s the Frito what are use for your rice? I would like to go with the one that you made with the chicken. Would I have to leave out the lemon and orange juice? How would you store the Sofrito once it is made because I mainly would like to make it for the rice.
Definitely leave out the lemon and Orange juice if making rice. That is more of a citrus for your chicken. Just put in the veggies and cilantro. At the end of my Sofrito video I showed how I stored and froze my Sofrito. It keeps for a long time if frozen.
Love it, Rosie, I love sofrito! A perfect mix to make the base for any dish. Oh yes orange, what is a carribbean sofrito without orange? Oh my goodness, I am so hungry right now before you even put it in the oven. Your cooking rocks, Rosie!
Good Day Rosie 🌹, I'm allergic to cilantro any suggestions for a substitute. Looks like it would be good on fish too. Sauteed shrimp or a nice piece of Pacific Cod loin. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day ✌💗🌷🌷🌷
Hi Edward, Well I looked up what is a good substitute for cilantro, Google say's Parsely or Basil...humm. They both have their own unique flavor and might work. Or, you can just leave it out. Onion, bell peppers, garlic and citrus will still make a tasty sauce. Let me know if you try it!
@@RosieCooks Good Day Rosie 🌹, I think I'll go with flat leaf parsley and a squeeze of 🍋. Basil leaves would change the flavor to much. Subscribers are growing, you'll be getting that RUclips silver arrow B4 you know it. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day. ✌💗🌷🌷🌷
Hi Edward, I'm sure whatever you end up doing is going to be out of this world. Have a great day. I appreciate every time you pay me a visit. Take care
Hi Jasmine, This is really good chicken. The Caribbean recipes use a lot of citrus and great herbs. This recipe is very yummy. Thank you for the visit!
Hi Juan, This comes out super tasty, but indeed if you marinate it for 1 hr, it will absolutely enhance the flavor. I promise you that if you don't have time to marinate, it will still taste super good. Good luck!
Hi Friend. I made a Puerto Rican inspired rice which includes sofrito. It is delicious. I think you will like it. ruclips.net/video/36thit0TxRs/видео.html
I must be the only one that feels this isn’t Thoroughly cooked. I definitely would’ve cooked my chicken longer!! If you were using boneless chicken I could see an hour or even an hour and a half to cook however for bone in chicken legs I would cook for at least two and a half on 350. Thumbs up on the recipe!
Hi Mikhael, as far as I remember, I do believe that these chicken legs were cooked. Perhaps because I covered them for the 1st 30 minutes. Cooking a little longer wouldnt hurt to try. TFW!
Lol you clearly have very little cooking experience. If you need that long your chicken is ABSOLUTELY over cooked especially at 2 and a half hours😂what do you think it is a London broil ? It’s CHICKEN! You must be one of those people who thinks food isn’t done until it’s hard🤣
Looks delicious.. I'm so going to try this using thighs. What do u think about doing it in a crockpot? 🤔 Thank u Rosie & God bless in Jesus precious name. 💕🕊💕
Hi margaret, it could work. If you made this with boneless chicken breast that would taste good. Anything that has skin on it wouldn't come out crunchy. You could add a couple of potatoes underneath your chicken pieces to create a lift. In a crock pot chicken tends to release a lot of juices, so you're chicken will sit in juices for a while. If you leave it too long it could get soggy. I made a salsa verde chicken using chicken breast and that had a lot of sauce and came out great. I would use something skinless if I was going to put it in a crock pot. The combination of flavors in this recipe comes out tasty. Thanks for the visit!
You need to let us know specifically what your spices consist of. Without that information, the video is practically useless as well as your sofrito recipe is.

Can I marinate the chicken with the sofrito for 2 hours and then cook it ? Will it absorb more flavor that way or is making it right away enough?

What temp do you bake it at ?
Hi Rainbow, in the video I said 400 degrees covered for 30min. Then uncovered until golden Brown and cooked through.
That chicken isn't cooked though
