The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Great performance, I don't think I've ever seen Connie so happy.. obviously had deep feelings for Bobby Darin..Shame it never worked out.

When ever I see Connie Frances singing back in the early 60’s, I get homesick for my youth . Listening to her takes me back to when I was 5 Through 10. I feel anxious hearing her sing now. What a wonderful time the early 60’s were.

Such a talented pair of performers! I grew up on the late 50’s and early 60’s and my father would play such great music on the car radio.
What a snappy happy little number. Bobby Darin was so versatile and expressive, he could perform whatever the occasion called for. And Connie is adorable with her lovely singing voice.

If you liked this duet you need to hear her and Andy Williams duet, their voices blended so well and you can see Connie has a fondness and respect for Andy and vice versa for him. One of the best duets I've ever enjoyed listening to.

Bobby was raised by his grandmother, who he thought was his mother, and found out after she died that his supposedly sister was actually his mother. Francis' father may have had qualms about mafia ties, although I don't think Bobby had any. Early in Bobby's career, Frank Costello offered him a fulltime gig at a popular nightclub, but he turned it down. He blamed Costello for not taking care of his family after his grandfather died in prison.

They most likely would have married, except Connie's father was very possessive over her and didn't want anyone else becoming her #1. He even brought a gun to a movie theater where she and Bobby were watching a movie. He absolutely hated that Connie was dating him. Connie had to break it off, basically, to keep Bobby from being shot. She wholeheartedly believed that her father would kill him. It's absolutely tragic. To this day, she says that Bobby was the love of her life.

From the 1955 movie “Three Little Girls In Blue.” Sung by Frank Sinatra originally and many times in his career. It is a jazz genre song. These two do a good job with it.

I did enjoy the preserved clip.I had enjoyed the few movie you did ,like where the boys are and the remake of girll crazy,I forgot that other title when Carson made an apppearance .All this on Turner classic movies .As with that other singer Vic Damone producers seem to felt that due to their standard of what make a good movie star at that time they felt you were not it ,but ,you were good in those movies.Your acting was good .

They are positively adorable together singing this song!🎶 I always loved Bobby Darin & not as familiar with Connie Francis ( a kid when both popular but my mom had all Connie Francis & Bobby Darin’s albums! My mother literally had hundreds upon hundreds of albums, she played the piano professionally up into her 80’s( at senior centers, Alzheimer’s units, parks with carillon tower etc) so gave me deep love of music! How she loved the two of them & seeing them both here, how full of love Connie so obviously has for Bobby, is just sweet to see. I loved watching them both together & seeing how happy & full of fun Connie is in this video, looking at Bobby. He so obviously loves her too( need to add though I also loved Sandra Dee as a kid & loved her in Gidget!) & you can’t help but wonder how each life would have been so different, if Connie had been allowed to follow her heart & marry the great love of her life, she called him later in life, Bobby Darin.♥️💜♥️💜♥️💜♥️💜♥️
