  • The OLDEST Port Charlotte released by Bruichladdich Distillery yet! This is a very limited release with only 6000 bottles and I got my hands on one! So excited to bring this review to you today, this whisky is absolutely exquisite and a perfect example as to why I hold Bruichladdich Islay Distillery in very high regards. Hope you enjoy the review, cheers!

    I'm lucky enough to own a handful of Octomores, and don't get me wrong they are delicious in their own way, but this 18yr is on another level of complexity. Cheers!

      Octomores are great and yes a completely different whisky. I absolutely adore this Port charlotte 18. It is right now my favorite Bruichladdich I ever had. So good, cheers to you! 🥃

      Completely agree, it’s fantastic. I’m hoping the Octomore 15.3 lives up to the hype in my head or this one will stay on top!

    This is a fabulous scotch! I did the 10 first. It might give you a different perspective now on the 10 having tried this beauty first! That will be interesting! I’m thrilled to have 2 bottles! Cheers!

      I’ve had the 10 a bunch just haven’t reviewed it yet. This 18 is supreme for an islay and brings forth so much extra character, I was surprised on the price for it! The 10 is also great and for $70 cannot go wrong, cheers! 🥃

    Got one on the shelf. Waiting patiently for reviews (thank you) before I open it. $200 is a spicy price, but it sounds worth it.

      Not a problem! I know I’m a small voice in the YT world but I think it’s worth it. Generally Bruichladdich limited releases are much pricier, but this one is also phenomenally crafted. So much depth and it has a silky texture and flavor palate. Hope you enjoy yours when you open, cheers! 🥃

    That must be great whisky. In Poland it is not available yet. Btw, lately a lot is happening on the Polish whisky market. Independent bottler "Loża Dżentelmenów" has released several new single cask whiskies from the Rambler series, and importers have expanded their offer and we have more and more new whiskies to buy. It's going to be a really interesting year.
    Greetings 👍🥃

      That is unfortunate you cannot grab a bottle of this, if you somehow come across it I definitely recommend grabbing it.
      But that’s awesome about the new bottler that sounds like a great year is in store for you and your whisky palate, cheers! 🥃

    Where you get these rare bottlings? I can't find em even in UK and Europe.

      I got this the day it released directly from the Bruichladdich website. I've not seen a bottle in a store around me either

    I hear the older the whisky is, the peat intensity diminishes.

    • @glencairngamer
      @glencairngamer  3 месяца назад

      It’s definitely true. But some peated whiskies that are older might taste peatier than younger ones because of what the distiller does during fermentation on top of a few other techniques. But generally yep that’s true!
