It's okay to love something and be a little biased. Everyone has their favorite. That's good! The price is always just a question of how much we want. Good luck with the channel!

Picked up in Texas for $160 before tax. Worth it imo. I’d rather have this than 2 bottles of Glen Moray 18. This is a solid tier better. There isn’t many 18s that are better for significantly cheaper. Most of the contenders have gone up massively in price (Bunna18, Glendronach 18) and cheaper ones are significantly worse (Glenfidich, Glenmorangie, Glenlivet, Loch Lomond, Glen Moray)

That is a fantastic price!!! From the comments, it seems like Texas is getting better deals on Scotch than other places (also there seems to be an abundance of single barrel Edradour bottlings there) and I am jealous!

It's not easy talking about price but I really feel like you're reading my mind. For the reputation that Bruichladdich holds sub$200 is a relief and an honest temptation.
My feeling is they are honestly showcasing the unpeated barley more than any other distillery. This follows that trend very nicely.
If my finances were a little better currently I would have been able to pick one up at $179.
Unfortunately, as a whisky club of one, therefore more of a collector, all my 18 year olds have been opened and enjoyed at least a dram or 2. I would be nice to have this silly little blue jacket sitting there next to them.

I understand the struggle. Luckily this should be a regular release so hopefully someday soon you can snag one.

Excellent review... Could you please do reviews on Octomore line and Black Art..

I did one on the Octomore 12.3. I may pick up one of the new ones this year. I haven't bought a Black Art since the 4.1 edition, but I'd love to have another bottle one of these days!

I started drinking whisky 4 months ago. I've spent my free time consuming info and am currently up to a bit under 20 bottles of Bunna12, Talisker10, Glencadam10, PortCharlotte10, Arran10, ClassicLaddie, etc.
At these prices, i havent tasted anything 15 years or older 😅 because a few hundred dollars has better utility elsewhere for me personally.
Youentioned that "I don't want to talk about price" yet spent the whole video doing so, and thank you! It's a very hard topic to sidestep with whisky. I dont want to sip and be mainly focused on the cost of the dram I'm sipping.

Yeah, I figured I would talk about pricing in depth now and try to get through some of the tough conversations. It is impossible to ignore, but I always enjoyed content that just focused on the whisky and looked at things from as positive perspective as possible. We will see how it goes though, lol.

How were the first couple pours? Mine were….disappointing. Closed, a bit boring. But the 3rd dram has given me hope.

I really liked the first pour and then it felt like it tightened up a bit, but once I got some air in the bottle it seemed to blossom. We will see how far it goes!

I don't think this Bruichladdich 18 is worth what the going price is. I do love Bruichladdich so I wasn't expecting to be disappointed. I doubt I will buy another. I am seeing a number of whisky channels with the same opinion, I am about half-way through the bottle and it hasn't improved to the point that I'd buy this again. It was interesting - not nearly complex enough. 7/10. I can afford expensive single malts but I care about what I buy and pay for. It has to be justified. I love scotch but I don't need it so if prices continue to get more and more insane I won't throw money away! I also don't want to be part of the problem. I boycott some scotch expressions because the prices are just insane. I did recently pay a lot for the 5th batch of Ardbeg's Traigh Bhan and it was well justified - far better than this Bruichladdich. Loved the recent Port Charlotte 18 release! A very gentle, well meaning suggestion is to be more economical with time in your videos. Cheers.

Good to know in regards to the Ardbeg 19. I have always heard mixed reviews so I never dove in on one of them.
