I've not been watching for very long but since I have been I've saved every recipe! I'm ordering your book. Your a master chef & Claire is your master taste tester. Your so funny & she's adorable. Love to watch you guys.Thank-you for sharing.😊
I saw this late in the day on Friday. I showed it to my wife on Saturday. I made it on Sunday, and it WILL be on our regular rotation! We did make a couple of minor changes. Instead of a neutral oil for cooking the beef and the veggies, I used a little chili oil (we like a bit of extra heat). We did add the green onion as suggested.
Thank you so much Aaron and Claire, I made this dish for my family tonight. I got my first wok and didn't think of seasoning my wok so I have to do that haha, but thanks again!
I enjoy your cooking show. So far, I've tried the peanut butter noodles recipe, and I loved it. I appreciate the simple ingredients and how fairly quickly these delicious and economical meals come together. I would like to show support by purchasing your cookbook. Thanks to both of you.
Made this for dinner last night with cheap cut, bottom round and it was DELICIOUS! Followed the recipe to a T and served with Jasmine rice and Egg Drop soup.
Pepper steal was what my mom usually fixed for a stir fry when I was growing up. I've never had a good recipe for the sauce at the end so I've appropriated a couple other recipes and made it into something similar. I also sometimes do it w/ground beef just to make things a bit more affordable. The important thing is the kids lve it. Definitely trying this version out soon tho. Thanks Aaron and Claire
Another fabulous recipe! My friend's Mom adds a little chopped fresh pineapple to her black pepper beef, so I'm going to double your recipe and make half with pineapple.
Thanks Aaron for the recipe.. It looks fantastic and easy to make. I have a question for Claire.. In your opinion was the two bell peppers was a bit much or 1 red or green is enought? Thanks again and everyone.. get the book, It's worth it.
Hi Aaron and Claire, Thank you for sharing your yummy recipes. I bought your cooking book from Amazon here in US. Wondering if you could post some Easy clay pot recipes ? Thank you so much
Looks absolutely delicious and straightforward to make! Does anyone have vegetable suggestions to replace the bell peppers? My wife's stomach can't handle them, but the rest of the recipe looks great!
Aaron has the most unique Korean accent I’ve ever come across (and I’m Korean). Kind of a cross between Filipino and Korean pronunciation. How does that happen? 🤷♂️ 😂
Hello, my bday is coming up in aug, i wondering if you do miyeok guk, I love soup, you made this longtime ago, but no measurement of the ingredient, thx in advance, love your channel
How do you deal with ingredients going off quickly? Sometimes I'll buy vegetables and they'll be unusable within 3-4 days - I think that, besides time/energy, is the reason I don't have much motivation to cook. (Yes, I can freeze stuff, if I manage to prep in in time, but fresh is always way better than frozen)
Aaron, I made this dish, it was ok, but my wife and I agreed it was lacking ummami / beefyness. Your instructions were excellent as usual. I think the main issue with my prep is my wife is allergic to seafood, so I cannot use oyster sauce and I did not have a good substitute. Personally, I thought it was better the next day for breakfast. I will make this again with my oyster sauce substitute.
As a substitute for oyster sauce, you can simply add the same amount of soy sauce. The soy sauce itself is full of umami and it’s gonna season the beef properly, so it won’t be lack of flavor. Hope you try this tip next time! 😁🙌
That is a lot of beef in the wok at the same time. Wouldn't it sear better and caramelize better if you did it in two batches? I always heard that if you put too much in the wok at once, it just steams/braises instead of stir-frying.
I don’t know why but every time I cook beef it just ends up being so tough to chew.. this recipe looks amazing and I’ve myself made the Chinese black pepper beef sometime last year I think and the flavors were all there but the beef itself was really tough to chew.. my poor husband still managed to eat it all up though.. is there a way to cook so that the meat remains tender? I don’t buy beef that often.. I think I’ve cooked maybe thrice with it so far in my life.. but does the cut of beef you buy matter as well? I want to show a beef recipe on my RUclips channel too someday but I want to perfect it first before I post it..
If you've ever had chinese takeout, they use it in pretty much every beef recipe. Pepper beef, beef broccoli, mongolian beef, etc. I don't think the flavor is noticeable, personally.
Just followed this video as closely as I could. I was missing the cooking wine though. It feels like it’s missing something. It’s very good, but maybe I need to play with the spices or maybe it’s bc I’m missing the cooking wine

I made it with shrimps instead of beef and it was sooo delicious. Next time I'll try it with saitan chunks.
You definitely have something here, I made it a second time with oyster sauce and a dash of sesame oil at the very end.
WOW! Unbelievable!
Yay! So glad you enjoyed it! 😁
I made this with ground beef and turned it into an easy rice bowl for weeknight dinner! 👌🏻

Aaron, my knife skills are more like Claire's. How about sharing how long it would take for her to make something?? That would be better for me!!😀

Yummy yummy
Howbdo you get the taste of the baking soda out of the beef? Do you still taste it?

It’s just a small amount, so you won’t even notice it! 😁

Can I use pork instead of beef
Sure! The sauce itself is delicious, so that’s gonna be fantastic, too! 😍

what can i use instead of wine?
You could also use dry sherry or mirin (Japanese cooking wine). Or add the same amount of water. Still gonna be good. Don’t worry! 🙌
Very heathy food
Looks amazing and full of calories haha

Not easy with not common items
Beef really is horrible for stir fried
Its flavor is too strong and the meat too hard but yeah whatever
