I always start foaming at the bottom of the car as my OCD can’t stand the streaks running down the panels 😂. Thanks for the video and your evaluation.
Hello Bruce! Love your videos, as someone who doesnt have access to most of the products you test, its nice to imagine how they would fair against the ones I have access to. One point on the Koch Chemie GSF is that, from what I understand, they recommend, its 20mls, for a foam sprayer, like an IK, not for a foam cannon, still looks like a nice product. I would encourage you to try out vonixx’s v-floc, its very similar to incredible suds, from what i can tell, and its very competitively priced over there in the USA. Again, love your videos, thank you, and keep it up.
So many factors in play here. Results vary from cannon to cannon. pressure washer to pressure washer to pressure washer, area to area ( hardness of water varies). I have used all of these and carry two of them as permanent stock. Personal preference too plays a part, do you want a product that floats dirt off as it falls, or do you want something that clings waiting for you to blast it off. This video reviews 4 top products, no doubt about that, and gives a basic guide as to how each performs, so really useful to help informed choices. Just want to put it out there that there are variables!
Great video Bruce, but I couldn’t help but notice your foam cannon’s output. I have never gotten such poor foam from any of these (minus Clean, I haven’t tried it yet) as you did from your cannon. I know we have pretty much the same setup, so I’m curious what happened here. My MTM cannon always underperforms compared to my MJJC but it definitely produces thicker foam than yours.
Thank you! Yep, I’m going to rebuild my MTM. But I also remember I was using 30 ml of each with 970 ml water. Do you use the same dilutions? When I used 60 ml of Shampoo+ and GSF all looked normal.
@ I always do 1oz if it’s half a cannon, 2oz for a full cannon no matter which soap I’m using. Even 1oz with a half cannon gives me piles and piles of foam with say, Shampoo+. What shocked me the most was incredible suds not giving you a thick blanket at 1oz, which is what led me to believe it was your foam cannon.
Good stuff… really good stuff my friend… I’ve been using ADS Shampoo+ for a year now but tried Pan’s and became a fan. Has slightly more cleaning power than ADS using 2 ounces. Also a little more lubricity than ADS. I have a gallon of both. Also a fan of KC Gentle Snow Foam; especially love GFX. Haven’t tried Incredible Suds. But like you said, they are all good solid products.
Hi Bruce. Respectfully, I have to take issue with your impression that Clean, at 1 ounce, was a high performer. Unless your video clips were out of order, there looks to be a significant similarity (not to imply exactly the same) between Shampoo+ at 1 ounce and Clean at 1 ounce. I would temper my observation to say that Clean was not quite as runny, thin and “rejected” as Shampoo+ but I perceive much more similarity with their foaming and cling performance than you do. I’m not sure how to explain this.
@@WashandShineGarage Thanks for sharing your view. The overall experience from CLEAN was very good - ease of use, foam, and cost all were decent. Now, I love foam, and Incredible Suds did foam more at 1 oz. But CLEAN definitely did better than shampoo+ and GSF. I still think it performed the best, overall. But definitely can be argued otherwise.
Hi Bruce!! Great video my friend. I’m curious if you use warm water when mixing up your foam cannon? Pan mentioned that it makes it easier to mix the shampoo with the water when using thicker formulas. I’ve been using Incredible Suds for years, and just purchased CLEAN. Shampoo but haven’t tried it yet. I’m a big big fan of Adam’s Polishes Max Foam in the cannon. I’ve considered trying a medical syringe to dispense the Incredible Suds as it might put most of the product into the cannon.
Good suggestion. I don’t typically use warm water, but my water comes in from basement supply and is generally reasonably warm. Thanks for sharing the idea. Might give that a try sometime. Thanks so much.
Wow! Great video and transparent review. Keep up the great work! Would love to know which has the most slickness? Also, which removes the most dirt with the contactless pre-wash?
I really appreciate your positive feedback! I’ll definitely consider your questions for a future video. Stay tuned for more reviews! Thank you for taking time to watch.
@ sweet! Welll consider me a new subscriber! Any plans to do a similar comparison for Rinseless washes? I’m almost out or DIY Detail and I was thinking of buying ADD Hero, Clean by Pan Rinse-Less or Koch Chemie Rrw. To me what is important is 1st slickness to avoid scratching/marring, 2nd would be cleaning ability to remove dirt, road grime, oil and bugs and 3rd would be scent and 4th is cost.
@ Thank you so much. I don’t have plans on the Rinseless front as I’m not the best on testing those characteristics. They are subjective and require similar dirt/bugs (Yes, I’m a bit of stickler for methods), etc. Plus, while I love using Rinseless when I can’t do a full wash, I tend to mostly use foam and regular contact wash vs rinseless. I need to change my ways 🫤
@@Bruces-Garageha. No worries! I have bought a lot of products and have my pressure washer and multiple car shampoos/soaps from DIY, CarPro, Koch Chemie, Adams and more. I’m excited to try Pans stuff, he’s getting way too much hate for pursing his passion and creating products with quality ingredients. I will tell you that CarPro Lift is terrible! 😂 I’m not going to lie though, washing a car with “rinse-less” is much less work. lol. I also don’t have a super sweet setup at home, I have to get everything out and set up every single time. So I’m sure that if it wasn’t for that, it would be easier to do the traditional foam canon. Which is definitely more enjoyable, but for me just a lot more work. Having to go connect the hose outside the house and set up the pressure, washer and blah blah blah. Haha
Bruce, there are MANY conflicting opinions regarding foam thickness correlating with cleaning ability. I like thick foam but am under no false impression that it cleans any better than a less thick foam.
Thanks! I do have Reset and used a couple of times, but not enough to have any strong opinion, but I’ve had several people say the same thing. Seems very popular. Thanks for sharing what works well for you.
Curious if you were able to test the ph level of each soap before and after mixing it with water out of the foam cannon? i know the ph level wouldn't drastically change im just curious how much it changes. And what PH level they are not base of what the manufacturers claims.
Unfortunately I did not test. I do know there is a range that is considered neutral and a pretty good estimation of dilution impact with the proper formula. But I did not go down that path.
Thanks for sharing. Foam also serves as key factor in lubrication prior to the contact wash. I typically don’t rely on most pH neutral shampoos to do much of the “cleaning”. I tend to leverage an alkaline pre-wash foam if I’m expecting the soap to clean. Appreciate you adding your perspective and what works for you.
Great video, but good piece of information would be type of pressure washer, psi and gpm .. Those factors can have an impact on foam production as well
Great point! Active 2.0. 2gpm around 1000 psi. I think I did say that in one part of the video, but it probably got cut (It was a long video). Thanks for watching.
That would require a dirty vehicle 😀. Seriously, yes, cleaning is important, but I don’t use a pH neutral soap for its cleaning ability. I use it primarily for lubrication before a contact wash and to remove/loosen minute amount of dirt in surface. I tend to use an alkaline soap for cleaning.
Great video Bruce! An honest and transparent review. Thank you for including my shampoo in your test. 🙏🏻 These are four excellent shampoos sonyou really can’t go wrong. I will agree with the boys from Armour Detail Supply in saying there’s likely an issue with clogged filters in your foam cannon as I have used them all and they usually all perform much better in my conditions. As good as the MTM used to be years ago, perhaps also give the MJJC Foam Cannon S V3 or Foam Cannon Pro V2 a try. ;) Your explanations were clear and your video was super well filmed. Continue your good work!
Most of these brands were started by detailers and made for detailers and enthusiasts. Regardless of them being popular on RUclips they all work incredibly well. A lot of people actually like supporting "smaller" brands like this vs the big ones like chemical guys or meguiars. Have you tried any of the soaps in this video? If not, I think you should because they may surprise you.
Great info. Thank you. I still LOVE ADS, as a hobbyist, a bit more cost isn't a big deal to me. I like GSF, but it is a bit weaker and not as slick under the mit on contact wash as ADS and DIY. DIY is really nice, but a bit thick as you mentioned. The grape Kool Aid scent is a bit much for me, as is the Cherry cough syrup of GSF... As for Clean, I am not a supporter of Pan at all for any reason...
i never know how to conduct these tests. i feel a full load of water in a foam cannon will always require more than 1oz of shampoo. where as 20 oz of water 1oz will get that thick stuff we all want. but will 22oz in the cannon make it all the way around a large suv or truck like a small suv or sedan. and in the moment am i going to 2 bucket method or foam rinse foam, the latter requiring more product 😜🐿️💨 also a great tip for thicker more viscous products, use a long spoon i.e a teaspoon for mixing tea’s. i like using the marked mixing cups. measure your product out add a bit of water and stir well to get every atom of that product into your cannon, bucket, sprayer. it also helps to pre dilute so it doesn’t all sink to the bottom of your containers in a big clump 😜
Great ideas. But a pain in the butt (IMHO). But it also sounds effective. I usually do a foam-rinse-foam with a full cannon and it works without need to refill.
@ but that‘s not what the respective brands claim. They claim those products are pH neutral in the concentrate, which is factually not true. A pH value of 8 or 8.5 is alkaline, and there is no two ways of looking at this as the pH value os absolutely and clearly defined in chemistry and science.
I suppose you can take it up with them. They are both branded as pH neutral and honestly that is only slightly alkaline and as I said when mixed, are going to be lower. I certainly would not compare these soaps to those that are marketed as alkaline which have an even higher pH.
I’m not promoting, merely restating how the manufacturer labels. I’m not a chemist, I didn’t test the pH, nor did I include anything related to pH other than how they are materially categorized by manufacturers. Sounds like you have a beef with them and suggest you take it up with them.
How it compares with car pro reset ?bc pan loves the reset and I suspect his shampoo is similar to this maby better I don’t know that’s why I ask you if you can compare them pls sir
In my condition 3D SUPER SOAP foams better then DIY incredible suds. Does it cleans better? I don’t know. The reason I bought 3D soap because I use only half of ounce.
Your gsf foam looks really really wet and runny, I get more of the lathered type of foam . I only mention this bc I feel it’s not a good representation of how the soap functions for me Thx
Yep. How much do you use in your foam cannon with how much water? I used 30 ml GSF and 970 ml water. When I increased to 60 ml it was definitely thicker.
@ I’m on the higher side of what you mentioned, more like 50 than 30. I use the boss foam cannon from griots, kranzle 1122 , but the prob most important factor is my water is low 30s to mid 20s ppm , without di.
if i may be so bold to request, i’d love to see your take on foaming on quick beads in a foam cannon. i’ve found 1.5 to 2 ounces in 20 to 22 ounces of water is more than enough to foam on a small suv (bronco sport/mazda cx5). and to be honest that maybe a bit much, i can make it all the way around the vehicle and back to use the entire load in the cannon. after the rinse off the drying process is nothing short of amazing. the benefit of quick beads getting into and providing protection in the cracks and crevices where normally protection products don’t touch is also great 👍🏽🐿️💨
@@Bruces-Garage ha! me too. i also had qb streak on paintwork and pretty much used it only on wheels. curiosity got the best of me and i’ve used it in a foam cannon 4 times now with no issues except it’s amazing 😜
7:31 why in the world are you foaming a car with obvious ceramic coating. It won’t coat properly nor will it cling. Watch it … it just runs right off. Waste of time .. sorry.
Foaming a coated vehicle is normal practice. You still need lubrication. Why in the world would you NOT foam a vehicle before the contact wash? I always foam and never have an issue - except when using such a small amount, such as 1 oz. Incredible Suds and CLEAN both foamed well at 1 oz; GSF and Shampoo+ both foamed well at 2 oz. May I ask how you would propose safely washing a coated vehicle? I typically foam-rinse-foam to contact wash or if I’m using solely rinseless, I pre-spray with rinseless.
@ Cleaning a car is not the focus of this video. It is to test the quality of the foam and how long it clings .. then lubricity etc. Foam will not ‘cling’ to a coated car. Of course you take that into consideration and can still ‘clean’ the car, but that isn’t what is being tested here.
@edjack3364 Agree to disagree. It will not cling in the same way as it does with a non-coated car, but yes it does and is expected to cling. What I was testing was how each product foamed and clung under the exact same conditions, using a coated vehicle and 1 oz of foam in a full foam cannon.
Personally, I would have performed the test on a non-coated vehicle. When it comes to cost/oz, I think it’s irrelevant to the DIYer. If we foam our vehicle 2/mo, we are talking a difference between the four products of about $2.00/month. And based on sales /promotions that are always offered by these companies, it becomes even less relevant . Well above cost ( when products perform similarly) I choose based on the channels that educate! DIY Detail does a great job as well as Pan. Sharing of knowledge is worth a lot more to me than saving a couple dollars a month.
@OCD-Detailing Excellent points! I chose cost as a factor because several viewers raised the issue when I first looked at Pan’s shampoo, so this was sort of a follow up. But you’re right, we don’t look at cost the same way a business must.

Thank you. Yes, someone else mentioned the foam sprayer vs cannon-I feel stupid! I totally glossed over that. Thanks again.
I’m getting similar foam with 1 oz of ADS shampoo that you are getting with 2 ounces when I use my MJCC 2 Pro foam cannon.
Yeah, everyone I’ve spoken to says 2 oz is the sweet spot and it worked well when I did that.
Nice test 👌🏻 here in the uk it works out the opposite. We tend to pay a lot for your side of the pond products.
Good point. Logistics and shipping is a big difference. Thanks for noting. Is KCX GSF the lowest cost for you?
So many factors in play here. Results vary from cannon to cannon. pressure washer to pressure washer to pressure washer, area to area ( hardness of water varies). I have used all of these and carry two of them as permanent stock. Personal preference too plays a part, do you want a product that floats dirt off as it falls, or do you want something that clings waiting for you to blast it off. This video reviews 4 top products, no doubt about that, and gives a basic guide as to how each performs, so really useful to help informed choices. Just want to put it out there that there are variables!
Absolutely accurate points for consideration and thank you for sharing. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and share those comments.
@jbalinski sounds like my cannon is part of the issue, but I bet if foam was 30ml with 500 ml water foam will be thicker. I’ll try that next weekend.
What size is your orifice?
@ 1.25
Excellent video Bruce!
Thanks!
Thanks! Appreciate you sharing and watching.
Great video, Bruce! Very comprehensive. But, IMHO, the music is terrible, very annoying. 🙄
Thank you! Sorry you didn’t like the music. . .I try my best. Some like it, others don’t.
What ceramic coating do you have on the 4 Runner? I was pretty impressed with the way the foam reacted to the coating.
I have Koch Chemie Ceramic All Around. About 1 year into the coating.
I’m not going to lie though, washing a car with “rinse-less” is much less work. Haha
I understand. That’s why I’ve got my pressure washer wall mounted and hooked up to water in the garage. It was life changing 😂
Car pro reset is my go to
Glad you have something that works well for you!
Bruce, there are MANY conflicting opinions regarding foam thickness correlating with cleaning ability. I like thick foam but am under no false impression that it cleans any better than a less thick foam.
True.
I have used several ph neutral soaps and Carpro Reset is the absolute best.
Thanks! I do have Reset and used a couple of times, but not enough to have any strong opinion, but I’ve had several people say the same thing. Seems very popular. Thanks for sharing what works well for you.
Well done, thank you!
Thanks!
My favorite soaps are American Detailer Garage: Fuzion, Turtle Wax Slick and Slide and Lithium Car Care: Double Tap 👌
Thanks for sharing. I haven’t used those, but great to hear what everyone likes.
The best cleaning power is what matters to me. Foam is irrelevant if it does nothing to paint
Sorry, but your coating on the car took all my attention, which one is it? What an amazing hydrophobicity
Koch Chemie Ceramic All Around
Great video, but good piece of information would be type of pressure washer, psi and gpm .. Those factors can have an impact on foam production as well
Great point! Active 2.0. 2gpm around 1000 psi. I think I did say that in one part of the video, but it probably got cut (It was a long video). Thanks for watching.
@@Bruces-GarageI’m glad you forgot the lubrication aspect because my issue with incredible suds is the thickness .. they will prolly come up with a V2
What about adding another category namely how well they actually do their job, clean? Isn’t that the point?
That would require a dirty vehicle 😀. Seriously, yes, cleaning is important, but I don’t use a pH neutral soap for its cleaning ability. I use it primarily for lubrication before a contact wash and to remove/loosen minute amount of dirt in surface. I tend to use an alkaline soap for cleaning.
So I'm not a ph neutral kind of guy so I use active foam. I love it!
I love AF as well! Thanks for watching.
Great video Bruce! An honest and transparent review. Thank you for including my shampoo in your test. 🙏🏻
These are four excellent shampoos sonyou really can’t go wrong.
I will agree with the boys from Armour Detail Supply in saying there’s likely an issue with clogged filters in your foam cannon as I have used them all and they usually all perform much better in my conditions.
As good as the MTM used to be years ago, perhaps also give the MJJC Foam Cannon S V3 or Foam Cannon Pro V2 a try. ;)
Your explanations were clear and your video was super well filmed. Continue your good work!
Thanks. I did order a rebuild kit and I’ll give that a try.
I have to order Diy and clean
I have used adams,ck,car pro, cg, ethos, sud factory
These are popular RUclips promoted brands not overall popular brands. It is all about chasing the latest on RUclips.
How do you determine “popular”? Available at WalMart or other consumer big box stores? These are all well known and frequently used brands.
Great info.
Thanks for sharing! Appreciate you watching. All are really good products.
I think using ads is wrong here as it shampoo with protection so not really meant to be used in a foam cannon
I don’t believe Shampoo+ has protection and even so, would be safe to use.
Which coating was on this vehicle? It was doing a good job rejecting the first round of soap. Good comparison Bruce
Thanks! I have Koch Chemie Ceramic All Around installed about a year ago.
A foam sprayer isn't a foam canon correct?
Yep. Someone reminded me of that point. Think of those handheld iK type foamers-that’s a foam sprayer.
Yeah so adjust your ratio's accordingly a foam canon is going to increase chemical x 10 on average.
i never know how to conduct these tests. i feel a full load of water in a foam cannon will always require more than 1oz of shampoo. where as 20 oz of water 1oz will get that thick stuff we all want. but will 22oz in the cannon make it all the way around a large suv or truck like a small suv or sedan. and in the moment am i going to 2 bucket method or foam rinse foam, the latter requiring more product 😜🐿️💨
also a great tip for thicker more viscous products, use a long spoon i.e a teaspoon for mixing tea’s. i like using the marked mixing cups. measure your product out add a bit of water and stir well to get every atom of that product into your cannon, bucket, sprayer. it also helps to pre dilute so it doesn’t all sink to the bottom of your containers in a big clump 😜
Great ideas. But a pain in the butt (IMHO). But it also sounds effective. I usually do a foam-rinse-foam with a full cannon and it works without need to refill.
So many choices. As long as it cleans effectively, I use up the bottle, and then move to another manufacturer if necessary.
Amen! Have fun and enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
Neither Clean by Pan nor DIY Detail are pH neutral - see the MSDS
They are considered pH neutral shampoos, particularly when mixed.
@ yet you are also promoting them as „pH neutral“ which is factually and chemically not correct
I’m not promoting, merely restating how the manufacturer labels. I’m not a chemist, I didn’t test the pH, nor did I include anything related to pH other than how they are materially categorized by manufacturers. Sounds like you have a beef with them and suggest you take it up with them.
Imma stick with my Shine Supply Hot Shot
Good for you. If it works, no need to chase something else. Thanks for watching.
The other piece to keep in mind, foam cannon vs foam gun will yield different results.
What coating is on the 4runner it’s crazy
Koch Chemie Ceramic All Around, about 13 months in
Been using mequiar's gold shampoo for many years, works great for me and cost less
@@jameslong4453 awesome! Glad you found something that works for you. That’s awesome and Thanks for sharing.
How it compares with car pro reset ?bc pan loves the reset and I suspect his shampoo is similar to this maby better I don’t know that’s why I ask you if you can compare them pls sir
Thanks. I do have Reset, but it’s been a while since I used it. I’ll give that a shot in the future.
I love the smell of gsf over the rest though 🍒
Cherry 🍒😊 But I will say Incredible Suds berry fragrance is nice too 😌
In my condition 3D SUPER SOAP foams better then DIY incredible suds. Does it cleans better? I don’t know.
The reason I bought 3D soap because I use only half of ounce.
3d super soap is amazing
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never used any 3D product. Glad you have something that works for you.
Your gsf foam looks really really wet and runny, I get more of the lathered type of foam . I only mention this bc I feel it’s not a good representation of how the soap functions for me
Thx
Yep. How much do you use in your foam cannon with how much water? I used 30 ml GSF and 970 ml water. When I increased to 60 ml it was definitely thicker.
@
I’m on the higher side of what you mentioned, more like 50 than 30. I use the boss foam cannon from griots, kranzle 1122 , but the prob most important factor is my water is low 30s to mid 20s ppm , without di.
Thanks so much.
Very nice. 🙂
Thank you! 😊
if i may be so bold to request, i’d love to see your take on foaming on quick beads in a foam cannon.
i’ve found 1.5 to 2 ounces in 20 to 22 ounces of water is more than enough to foam on a small suv (bronco sport/mazda cx5). and to be honest that maybe a bit much, i can make it all the way around the vehicle and back to use the entire load in the cannon.
after the rinse off the drying process is nothing short of amazing. the benefit of quick beads getting into and providing protection in the cracks and crevices where normally protection products don’t touch is also great 👍🏽🐿️💨
Hey Franko-Thanks for the suggestion. Seems like a great idea. However, I don’t use QB except occasionally on some wheels. I’ve had streaking issues.
@@Bruces-Garage ha! me too. i also had qb streak on paintwork and pretty much used it only on wheels. curiosity got the best of me and i’ve used it in a foam cannon 4 times now with no issues except it’s amazing 😜
First!!!!!!!
*sigh* Another detailing youtube channel to subscribe to.
I’m thankful for you subscribing. 😊 I truly appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving.
@Bruces-Garage happy thanksgiving to you too!

Thank you!!
Bilt hamber auto wash!!
I’ve never tried it-but I love Touch-Less. Works perfectly.
@Bruces-Garage so is the auto wash
