Over 2 decades later and this game is still a blast. This is one of my favorite games of all time. This makes me more of a Castlevania fan than I ever was.
Alucard's name was originally Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes. He changed it to Alucard himself to be the "opposite" of his father in every way. His father, Dracula, is Vlad Tepes, of course... Though some Castlevania games (Lords of Shadow) give him a different name, so his lineage gets complicated if you want to connect Alucard to anyone besides his parents.

i am loving this game. with simon and richter’s announcement in smash i finally decided to check out the series. Super IV was really classic and cool, but this one blows it out of the water. i recently played almost the entire metroid series and this is a perfect combination for me right now
I do come back to this playthrough every once in a while, lots of highlights. Also, it did take a long while for it to happen, but there at least now actually is an English translation patch for the Saturn version. Good for a repeat playthrough. New areas, some new items, different version of Maria from the PSP Dracula X Chronicles version/PS4 version.
I can understand bad voice acting. I can understand a bad translation. But which english speaking voice actor just goes ahead and speaks the line "What do you here?" without telling their colleges that, you know, maybe they should look at that script again... just a thought.

Polnareff's Long French Baguette its a hybrid of sorts. it has both bonus areas + redone Maria (who plays similar to Rondo Maria.) Dracula X Chronicles is worth picking up if you have a PSP for the unlockable original Rondo of Blood and SoTN alone.

35:04 - If you're ever looking to speedrun this fight, use the knife. This is the one boss where that item is useful, and you can seriously kill them in seconds by rapid firing it.
Vinny recommended a multi-part SotN documentary that went room by room pointing out all the trivia in the game, but I have looked for years and have never been able to find that documentary or the clip where he talks about it again. Does anyone know where i can find those videos?

50:00 i get sick around once a year because family didn't bother mentioning it until after i saw them... i'm also allergic to grass which makes it really bothersome when someone brings wildflowers or sharing rooms with pets that just came in, but i'm apparently not allergic to flowers so it's fine to bring things that grows in grass indoors. i'd rather just stay outdoor than that, think it's just a lot more air out there or atleast it's not nearly as obnoxious.

This probably isn't relevant anymore, but try to pick up some 99% (or close to that, 91% is about the lowest safe) isopropyl alcohol, a couple q-tips or a soft bristle toothbrush, and a small enough phillips screwdriver to open the controller(s) up. The alcohol is perfectly safe for cleaning electronics, and it'll help clean the gunk up. Provided the controller and rubber contact pads aren't damaged, it should help with your crusty buttons problem.
Dont blame me I've only seen the first part of the episodes, If he had done the LCK code, if he used the last Warg in the room before Death he could've let the Warg big toss him (leap at him) and with the LCK it will cause Alucard to be sent flying past Death without getting his shit taken away, I honor his choice of not doing the glitch but im just saying he could have avoided the hassle of having to do the glitch the hard way.

Vinny should really use XEBRA for every PS1 game he plays. Controller support with rumble and (Almost) 100% of compatibility. The only downside is that it's a little cryptic at first to load a game, but once you do it, it runs absurdly fine.
The glitch to keep the items is just holding left when you enter the room where death is after you trigger it. Yes its not hard but if you delve into this games glitches some of wich are sub-pixel nonsense wich shouldnt be doable in this game and figure out that they can be done by anyone randomly just trying you might be amazed even more
