Speaking as an engineer I found this is a very watchable and inspiring video. The bit that stands out for me is how the guys seem undaunted by what looks like an impossible task, especially given the lack of a decent workshop. In the UK we would just condemn a chassis that was this badly damaged. Congratulations to everyone involved.

The standards are lower in those countries. It’s more like a bush fix than a rebuilt to specs. I didn’t see anything difficult in this one. If it’s damaged, weld some shit on it. If it too damaged, cut and replace with something that fits. Replacing Surface mount components on a hard drive controller is much harder than this for example.

Actually I think welding all layers together makes it to rigid. You want more flexibility especially when the chassis is this long. I would use bolts and rivit to hold the chassis layers together. That way it is also easier to repair.

HSS is high speed steel, very hard, very wear resistant, very brittle, good for drill bits etc. Absolutely useless for a truck chassis! NOT high strength steel!

No gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots, welding leathers...my OSHA rep passed out five minutes into the video. All respect for the workmanship...

Я так понял там оператор дрели - самый мажор - у него краги)
Смотрю на этих ребят и понимаю, что корни у нас Пакистанские...
Да и вообще это какой-то мажорный гараж - краги у сварщика, макита у слесаря) Новые запчасти)

That truck would be in a junkyard here, the cost of doing what these guys do would be phenomenal in the US.

Great video and work and skill. Lovely riveting and ingenious pressure bracing for the heavy duty metal drilling. But please at least wear eye protectors, bit of swarf from a grinding disk or flash material in the eye would be horrendous.

(You are right many times: courage should not cause sinister harm, the blind are not deaf. For example: you can live with deafness. But without the vision, what will you become? It's heavy!! If the workers and their owners could hear us, it would be good and useful.)
