it's true that sweden doesn't have a government-mandated minimum wage, but this is because labour unions have such great influence that introducing one may actually reduce the salaries of some workers. salaries in the lowest decile in sweden are some of the highest among european countries.
Is it still being like that nowday?
This is a very charming city, I hope I can visit again sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Very straightforward no nonsense informative video. Just what I was looking for. New subscriber.
Thanks mate, appreciate it
Thank you for putting the time and effort into making this video.
Glad you appreciated it ☺️
Best review i seen in a while.
Thanks man :)
Nice video! The quality keeps getting better too!
I wonder if you can do one about Luxembourg City / Country.
Thanks man! If I'll ever go to Luxemburg I'll make one for sure 👍
Nice video! I have to visit Stockholm !
same, one day if that happens for me that would be interesting for me.
it's been too long since your last video bro, another great video!
Really enjoyed this. Im from Melbourne Australia and its very similar in prices
Beautiful place and an amazing video
Great video! Tack så mycket! 😊
Thanks Man! Tack!
That's really informative thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Wow it looks really beautiful 😳 I should visit one day!
Great job as always dude 👌
Thanks mate!
Living in Sweden is so depressing!! I lived there for ten years! So many countries are better!!
It looks picture postcard nice for a few days of the year...the rest of the time it is very depressing and grey!
Stay at home, indiyan
thank u for so much information about
Good effort in presenting the coat of living in Stockholm.
Next year I am planning to visit , if everything is fine
Thanks
Ah du bisch us de Schwiiz😂 geile Siech, ich lueg fasch alli vo diine Videos👍
Bloody awesome city to visit! The old part is out of this world man! The archipelago is a natural wonder. So much to see and do.
One of my favourite cities in the world.
I’m so excited to see this in my recommended
Nice!
it would be nice one day to come to visit, but the prices are definitely deterring.
Services like hair cuts / colours particularly grooming for women is a lot more expensive than you let on here. Eating out is more expensive than anywhere in EU I have been lately (Paris, anywhere in Italy, Amsterdam, Berlin for eg) - think closer to $7/8 for a beer & its hard to find a glass of wine for less than $12.
Very similar cost of living to Melbourne Australia even after converting USD to AUD.
Interesting
Es hermoso este país yo viví en ese lugar durante 2 años me dijeron que aguantaría por el frío ya que soy de poza Rica Veracruz ahora radico en México saludos
Demasiado frio verdad? Jaja
Awesome !!!! Welcome to Stockholm
tack!
Hey! Nice vid- interesting and informative. Your info on the cost of housing is a little simplified and misleading, however. I have an average rental apartment, comparable in size to your example, centrally located, which costs $730.00/month. I do have a long-term contract, which newcomers would have little to no chance of obtaining. For them, your quote of $1,500.00/month is within the range of what they'd have to pay, because sub-letting largely happens on the black market and extreme price gouging is common. So your statement is true from the perspctive of newcomers but not representative for the populace as a whole, if your aim is to compare cities, rather than the specific situation for newcomers.
this video is very stockholmcentric. the rest of the country is entirely different. go to any other city and it will be atleast 1 or 2 dollars cheaper. but i still liked it
Yes i only covered Stockholm. I can imagine other smaller cities in Sweden will be completely different
Greetings from Sweden :) I hope in the future you can make a video about Vietnam!
That would be interesting!
Hello Susan
Why vietnam? Its third world and why would anyone be interested in going there?
@@c3realK1ll4h Because Vietnam has beautiful nature, plenty of culture and interesting places to visit. Also historically Vietnam has never been considered a Third World country.
@@sizelka it is third world, plus ho min chi looks like india
Good job! It's really interesting to know about a place you haven't been. I see it in Russia, and by the way, I shoot the same thing about Russia. With love from Russia
Thanks, I'm very interested about russia man.
Hey Guys from Russia, I am Andrea's brother. I am sure we'll do one in Moscow at some point.
the people friendly easy language and high quality to live ...i think I'm good to live around the city:))

I hope I can go to sweden
I've seen apartments go for alot cheaper. Anywhere between $800 and $1400 a month in Stockholm.
Oh where?
$800 dollars in Stockholm? Where/how? I live in a "small" city in Sweden and you can barely find any rent for 1 bedroom apartment for 700 unless you wanna live in the ghetto.
@@zoom5024 Apparently someone deleted my link. But there's definitely apartments from 5,000 sek to 8,500 sek a month.
I don't agree with "it's easy to get a student apartment". To get one from SSSB (the Stockholm student apartment foundation) you have to be in the queue for 4,5 years, so if you only study for 3 years (a bachelors degree) it's impossible to get one. I got my apartment via another housing company that have about 100 student apartments in total and that took me over 1,5 years in the queue and the rent is much higher.
Well my friend decided to go study there and they organized him an apartment in a few months so yes, I'd say it's easy if you know how...
I am coming to Sweden soon, the cost of living is super high! So I am looking into other cities. I saw Malmo and Guthenberg are cheaper, have you lived in those cities>
I have lived in Gothenburg for 4 years and really liked it there. Yes, its quite much cheaper than Stockholm but the weather is even worse since its closer to the sea. Its always windy and rainy. But its more laid back than Stockholm and maybe the locals are friendlier. The public transport although regular is time consuming.
Same. Coming in April. This will be my 4th visit. Staying in the region of Dalarna, about 2.5hrs north of Stockholm. Plan to move permanently before end of year.
@@maheeldabarera coming from New Zealand, I found Swedish women quite matter of fact sensually. Of course, when in Rome.....
Excellent presentation! I'm confident one can cut back on monthly expenses there or anywhere by cooking their own meals and going out less, except for Fika 😉
Yes Fika is pretty important 😋
How do prices in Stockholm compare to Zürich? Like for having a beer, eating out, shopping groceries? I have visited Basel and I experienced it as more expensive than Stockholm (and the rest of Sweden) for the tourist kind of things.
I would say that in general Switzerland is between 10% to 20% more expensive for everything. For example a coffee in Switzerland at a bar/restaurant is about 6 dollars where in Sweden it's about 4 to 5 dollars.
Hi! I am thinking about moving to Zürich or Stockholm. Can you help me compare them?
Canada or Sweden... which country is more colder?
wow its amazing city.
Yes it is, but expensive hehe
How much they pay for internet and electricity every month in dollar?
This is how you do, like subed
Thanks 👍
how much space does that rent money get you?

Hungary:500(and this counts our good Lőrinc who gets millions in seconds just by being the prime ministers friend)
😂
Not worth it to me Thailand though the prices have gone up a lot since I moved here twenty years it is still very affordable.
What work do you do there ? When you say you live in the Tayland ,is it in the capital of the country or in the coast ? Are the locals friendly with foreign people ?
@@georgekiosses6800 Nope not at all not friendly
Can I afford to live in Sweden if my pension is only $1,200 a month?
If one has a residence permit in Greece, can he move to Sweden and live there instead?
If you have the 5 year epimacron permit yes
Rent with 1570 $ is for like a 3 bedroom apartment in the heart of Stockholm with about 100 m2.
The worst thing is wind blowing on ur face while cycling? Awwwwwww..

The worst thing is probably getting rain in ur face while cycling lol

I wanna visit ...
It's nice but maybe 2020 isn't the year to visit. I'd suggest go in summer next year
cost of living is very simillar to LA

What’s the average pay for a new grad?
I don't exactly know but I guess it depends in which field...
I can't believe that Stockholm is cheaper than Tel Aviv lol..
selam to Turkey
Breakfast $16 but monthly food costs $300.
It doesn′t add up.
That's when cooking and eating at home...
Wish US had health care cost like that.
You can pay $600 per month for insurance here, still pay $20-$40 per visit and have a $2,000 deductible per year.
Yeah, the us are known for their costly healthcare system....
Pay half of every paycheck and it's yours
We count kronor=euros not dollars.. 🤗💞
Yeah but this video is mainly made for foreigners (not europeans). You can always calculate in your currency from dollars.

What about employment?

How much would you say the average cost is to purchase an apartment there?
It's expensive for what you get. Many other better places! I am Australian. I lived ib Sweden for 10 years. I left my Swedish ex husband because my life in Australia was so much better!! It is extremely hard to get ahead in life there compared to many countries!! Taxation system is horrible, you work for nothing!! It is socialist!!
@@mbr369 I'm glad he left you.
@@SuperMarkusparkus lol!!!🤣🤣🤣 it was me who left him. The idiot is still trying to come here!!! He has hired lawyers etc. I told him in Sweden, Australia is far more selective on who they allow in
Sweden allows any criminal from any country come into it's country. That is why Sweden has sooo many integration problems!!!!
Superkrabben, Sweden is no longer the country it used to be in the Seventies!!! Perhaps you should move ahead with the times!!!
@@mbr369 you're right. We shouldn't have let you in. Your values are incompatible with Swedish way of living.
Keep in mind the extremely high income tax.
Anybody recommends a website for rentals? And also if Im gonna work in Arlanda airport, anybody knows where in sweeden should I look for a house? Thank you!
NYC > all other cities.... Tbh I won't die here, I'll move back to Europe, buy for my 30s....yeaaaa imma stay here hahahah my $ is amazing, my rent Is only 2200$, (I make 67k) Im JUST starting my career after addiction for years and cyber crime
Anywhoo, yeah I've visited all over the US, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, (I wanna try London) maybe for 36.5-40 I'll move there to start my end journey.
Wow, what a life :

You're such a beautiful woman and I like the cute smile on your face. I would be glad to have you as a friend. 🥰🌹.
Why converting to US dollars? That is rather out of touch. Euro would be more valuable.
I do it because almost everybody knows how much a dollar is in their currency, i wouldn't say euro is as much known as dollars... And my viewers are mostly Americans, English and Indians so yeah...
hehe... Swedish corona :(
The coincidences 😅
Why they don't accept cash ? Can you work there without to speak swedish ?About housing ,I think is the same everywhere in Europe where there are jobs ...
They accept cash but it's not a common thing to pay in cash... I don't know if you'd be able to find a job without speaking swedish. It's a very international City so it will depend on what kind of job you're applying for.
@@pattifilms7858 thank you for your response . It may be possible for people who have IT skills, engineers, mathematics or in other sectors ,but from my experience, I don't think a person with my professional background ( medical ) for example can work anywhere in the world without to know well the local language . In general I believe that you are right : it depends on the profession .

Hehe, probably most of the people who earn below average or average share an apartment anyway.
I dont know how the average salary can be $1500 when a cashier takes home $1500.
Basically, if you’re not rich don’t even put it in your head to move to Stockholm.
