- Intro to my newly built .17 HMaiR mkII. MK as in "Mark" meaning, 2nd version. By now, many if not all of my viewers are familiar with my original .17 HMaiR built off of a Benjamin Maurader .22 cal air rifle. Well, this rifle is built off the world famous AIRFORCE AIRGUNS Condor frame and she is a beast for such a small caliber.
This video is a little long as I get into the details of the build. But its worth a listen! There is even some field performance tidbits at the end. So stay till the very end...........PLEASE😁 Спорт
A real game changer for small caliber air rifles.
I and many of your fans are waiting for the next installment of HM.AIR.
Thank you DH. I'm getting more and more into the small bore superguns. They all have their place but the small stuff is so fun to shoot
This is an awesome project!!!
Thank you Brother! So awesome to see you here.....WOW!
Matt you should talk FX into doing some kind of high powered .17 system. This gun is amazing but I don’t have the time or know how to do anything like this.
@@Tofazfou damn this Project amazing, just what i have been searching for, a .177 for smal - med size game, so im pretty new to PcP, and i was wondering if i could pick your brain, i was looking into gettin a pcp airgun .177 i cant get higher cal due to laws.
im not afraid to mod, and get parts made for me, i was looking to shoot from 16-?Gr for like 20-30 shots.
so iv been looking to get a PcP that can do it, iv been looking a a few models. could i pick your brain for 2min??
Thanks
1 hatsan hercules/bully 1450fps claims 50 MuzzelE - hatsan bull/factor 1200/1300 Fps i heard they are not lying alot whit thir Fps but im guessing it wont hit over 950/1000 whit a slug like the Diablo beast 16Gr nielsen 18Gr
2 Fx impact /maverick compact
i selectet thise guns as i like a semi option
# Recomendations and toughts?? i would like semi option or quick fire option.
So i dont even know my needs really just that start whit i dont need 100+yard Pcp range i would sit in a tree and shoot from 16-30 yards prob max 40.
i would love to hit 1100+ whit a slug the heayver the better idk if i need like your 24 prob 21 could surfice as i cant press my own for now i have to buy.
pricerange would be like 2k$$ max whit mods preferd cheaper. idm if the mods are plug and play whit a few tools, idk if i could get usa guy help me fit it as sending gun to Eu prob pain in the butt via custums
Hats off to you for being a free thinker & letting the juices flow. It’s men like you that Make America Great.
She’s a piece of art!
WOW, hell of a compliment. Im flattered you think so. Didn't think too many people would like the BLUE factor of the gun. But when its all said and done, i'm the only one that needs to be happy about it. So I appreciate what you've said
Work of art my man! Love finally getting to see a full review of this beast!
Very cool 😎 and very unique...thanks for sharing can’t wait to see more.👍👍
That is a hell of a little rifle in any book, the fact that's its a pcp air rifle puts it over the top. The amount of work is fantastic.
Blue must be your color brah - if memory serves me your Disco-Mods (one of the 1st times I found you) was blue - just want to say you boyz out in Cali have really been out front and driving this industry for nearly a decade (big props that go unrecognized - U, Nap, Tob, and Bax were and have always been ahead of the curve) - thanks
Whats up maaaan! Cant believe you remember the Disco Mods.....WOW! that was a minute ago! Yeah bro, we fo sho do our thing out here. Calif has a lot of good airgunners. More than what you see on social media too. But me, Nap and Tob still hang out. Bax hits us up every once in a while. And the blue thing is actually funny cause my favorite colors are green and also orange but, those color look like crap on guns.....lol. So over the years, i've come to like blue more and more.
Excellent Cedric!
Thank you for all that you do to bring air rifle technology to the cutting edge. Between you and Dyotat, you guys have been able to make many of the the things they say can't be done,,, actually become proven!
I remember the earlier days as you really brought out the .257 to the mainstream with your .257 bible post over on the tag.
At one point when I was just beginning to join that .257 club, I had many many questions and you had taken much time to answer my questions with a willingness to put me on the good stuff. Doug was very approachable and helped steer me in the right direction, building my valve and overcome the hurdles involved with at that time newer generation Airforce Spinlock frame with it's newer trigger and safety, it provided many headaches for Doug!
I agree with you on much of the reasons and challenges for doing the things you do with air and choosing calibers and roads less traveled than others.
I had remembered proposing such thing as a .177 bullet perhaps swaged from lead wire. At that time the general consensus was that the bore was too small and would be very difficult to overcome valve lockup.
Of course if anyone would have the tenacity to overcome such a challenge, go ahead and put Doug Noble on it! He just never gives up or will rest on what he has done. He constantly improving and experimenting, determined to overcome what challenges he has before him.
We are lucky to have such great access to such major players on the scene. Thanks for sharing dude!
Southboundsuarez aka dougroundup!
I greatly appreciate your outof the normal mindset. I too desire being different....which does not make someone odd or weird.....just more inclined to gain success through innovation. You in my humble opinion have come closest to bridging to gap between air and powder....grabbing the best of worlds.
If I may Sir?
Awesome concept, finished product and presentation Ced! Thank you for sharing this.
Yup, Doug builds amazing AF guns, he truly is a Master Airsmith.
The 7mm Texan he built me is also amazing. We're lucky to know him.
Doug have a youtube channel ?
Man, I can just imagine your TEXAN 7mm! HOLY SCHNIKEY! I would love to hear more about your setup and what kinds power and accuracy you get!
@@Tofazfou had a mandrel made for 18" twist .284 for lighter bullets more suited to air rifles. TJ's has it if anybody wants to get one. NOE made several 7mm molds for me (their listed in the catalog)
Donor gun was .257 Texan.
Doug made long rear bushing with a deep recess for the CF tube to socket into for ridgidity. The CF tube is super epoxied with some crazy stuff Doug had. Then he slid the match tolerance long forward bushing OVER the CF tube and epoxied and set screwed it in place so the barrel is very stiff and supported.
Doug reworked the valve of course and it's mounted in a CF 500cc bottle with the gun tuned to 3600 fill. His custom spring too matched for this rifle/caliber/pressures.
Using a Maddog Ranger stock, coated Desert Tan instead of black, with Optisan EVX 6-24x56 (Eagle Vision rings on a Maddog Picatinny rail).
Shooting the Arsenal 96gr Bowman (hollowpoint by Eric), the NOE 284-89gr BTHP, and the NOE 284-73gr Flat base HP... All giving very good MOA to sub-MOA at long ranges beyond 100.
Not shooting at max (wheel backed down to 1.5 to 2), the 96gr seems to like 1060 FPS / 230 FPE.
Doug is the MAN!
Hogs fear this air rifle!
What a smacker! Nice work and innovative ideas and actions. Thanks for sharing that journey with us.
Great Vid. Thank You for keeping it "family friendly".
I try. Thanks for noticing and thanks for viewing
Awsome presentation Sir. Well done I say! Well done!
Speechless ,incredible 👏
Ced absolutely dope creation. Very few people have the resources or creative know how to have their thoughts/ideas brought to reality.
Continue forging your own path as it is inspiring.
Best comment ever HAJ. Thank you brotha!
WOW and WOW. You do have the stuff. Beautiful and deadly. With each new build I think you've reached summit then you find another grab and climb higher. You're moving the boundaries of air gunning higher for everyone. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Gerard for noticing. Yeah, I do in my own way try and push limits by doing some things just a little different. Airguns are such a cool platform to test boundaries because no one in the past ever pushed. They just accepted airguns as bb guns and stuck with what they were. Modifying is embedding deep in my nature. Nothing I own, is STOCK.
@@Tofazfou You are the First God of Airgun Tuning Outside the Brand Names.
Fn’ Killer, Sir & Many Thanks for your research and intel 🤘🏻
Wicked awesome. Best place to purchase recommendations. Thanks for amazing videos. Keep up the great work. Thanks for explaining and making it easy to understand for new comers.
WOW great job.. Airgun is a beautiful looking weapon.
The rifle looks 🔥. Very informative video too👊🏾🤟🏾.
Dang that is sweet ! Nice job everyone involved !
Thanks George. I agree with you, I think everyone involved did a fantastic job. From Muzzle to Butt Pad, all work and parts involved are top notch!
Wow, that's a rockin' gun, holy cow the work that's in it.
hahaha, yeah man, im down to just 1 hobby now that I've gotten rid of my crotch rockets. SO whats a boy to spend his money on ya know.....lol?! Thanks brotha!
Finally I found it LOL. I never understood why nobody build an pcp .17 HMR. Amazing project.
Very nice setup boss. Super sweet! Crazy power from a .17 cal! Thanks for sharing. God bless.
The Art of gun smithing..Beautiful equipment!!
Thanks Morris. I will make sure to tell Doug what you said.
Pretty freaking awesome, Doug makes some serious stuff and thanks for sharing.
Hell yeah he does. I was very fortunate to meet him in his very humble beginnings. And we live so close to one another also. Its a huuuuuuge help.
Sweet gun! Can't wait for more videos!
The vid I've been waiting on!! Most excellent!
Thanks 212, I'll be releasing more soon. I already have a ton of hunting footage. I've got more testing to do with slugs also. The GM barrel is picky but moreso, the NOE 172 bullet molds are by far the hardest mold/bullet i've ever casted. And I mean, HARD..... Some of the bullets I make are like FINGERPRINTS, NO 2 ARE ALIKE😂🤣🤣😂 And its NOT ME, ITS THE MOLDS. If i can figure that out, I think I can get that gun to shoot 1/4" groups
@@Tofazfou I know it's been almost a year, but my .172 Condor is almost done!! I can't wait!
Thanks for sharing Tofaz.
I recall your airguns and your post on Airgun Advice forums.
best .17 long range airgun i ever seen. very flat, amazing BC and explosive!! great job
Thanks AXEL. I can't seem to put her down. That's how much I enjoy shooting this rifle.
thanks man, I live in France, this country is not popular with the use of airguns. At the shooting club I am the only "long distance airgun" shooter.
It is gas like you who made me progress and motivate me.
I would give an arm and a rheins to have a shooting companion like you !! Continue to send slugs over 100 yards with unique weapons! it's always a pleasure to watch your video.Bye!
(sorry for my english).
That’s awesome man, great job! Engineering at it’s best👏🏼👍.. love the thinking outside the box and being unique. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome rifle.
Looks so clean and mean.
Hope to see some hunting videos soon.
Love my Airforce Condor! That thing is sick!! Good job 👍👍
That's a beautiful rig Cedric! Well done!
Wow! An amazing project!
OMG! What a Sick Shot! and you built this rifle! off of a AF base! Brother you can shoot! What a shot! Gotta Love It!
Holy sheeeeet! Insane. Just purchased my first PCP, a Talon SS .25, blue of course, and your video came across my feed. Glad it did! Too many questions right now.......
And that’s a home run baby!!!
What a beautiful gun! That gun is amongst the kings of the Airgun world
BRO! Those are strong words. Very strong. And I appreciate them. So, THANK YOU!
Awesome stuff man I really like your content and your videos thanks for sharing bsafe
Now thats accurate shooting. I dont see nobody doing shots like that on RUclips buddy.
Amazing airgun, Like youre vid´s! never seen something like this before. Verry interesting. Keep it up!
Thanks OA. With good idea and a good machinist (lots of AF airgun experience), Pressure is the only limit
Super nice build! Sweet looking air rifle.
Wow all I can say is wow beautiful gun Love to trigger the shroud just love everything about it and keep up the good work very informative video
Bravo my brother bravo you've done it again it looks, and performs amazingly. Take care.
WHATS UP BROTHA FRANK?! Maaaaan, so good to see ya here. I know you too have some new builds and also some in the works.....lol. I look forward to hearing about them when we catch up
Just pure awesome!
That’s a awesome set up Cedric!
I just watched this video again after two years. Sir, you are an innovator. You showed the industry and they were watching. I mean, look at all the 177 slugs on the market today. Please Keep experimenting. We'lll keep watching! :+)
That’s awesome my friend. I love it! One can only wish!
Love the gun! I also love seeing .172 shooting so accurate at 135yards. Great job explaining how and why you choose .172
Got'er dialed in I'd say. Awesome looking rifle!
fantastic !!!
That’s a beautiful custom air rifle.
Wow ! Beautiful gun man.
That is awesome!!! Jp preacher
Wow,air guns have progressed so much. This is an awesome air rifle bloke 👌👍
Always learning from you, and I think I just picked up on something that you didn't openly say that you've been showing across in a lot of your latest videos. Again, thank you very, very much for sharing and doing what you do it is much appreciated.
That gun is amazing. You are an excellent shooter!
Great Job I love my 17 hmr savage!
That’s quite a build! And that ES isn’t bad. You aren’t shooting PRS with after all! Really enjoyed this one!
EXACTLY! If i want super tight consistency, i just tether via an external reg
That's a sweet setup!!
That is one beautiful powerhouse.
Great video Cedric and yes Doug is the best when it comes to Air Force rifles
Very cool gun! Nice shooting.
Beautiful weapon!!!!!
You always come through with something super cool and always great explanations. Your like a mad scientist with air..lol
Nice customized CD, great work
That is one heck of a Gun....Wow....a Son - Of - A ......Gun....Thanks for Video.....
amazing , It's incredible how you get such high efficiency, you made it!
Thanks you. Doug does great work and its not just his machining work thats 1st class, its the way he sets it all up. He pretty much BLUEPRINTS airguns and their parts.
Very nice job. 👍
Thanks JD
👋🏾sup Cedric! Congrats bruh! That gun is 🔥 brotha 👊🏾😎
Love the power man.
Great job on your content...
i had no clue how custom these air guns got. great build and thanks for sharing.
Awesome gun and awesome shooting Cedric
That's what I'm talking bout 👏... probably won't ever have a .172, but I love .177 ... like Tim 'the toolman' Taylor says "more power"... kinda wish FX would make a 700mm slug barrel in .177 😁🤔🙄... take care Ced. 🙂
JD, the 177 is badass and has potential. More HEAVY ammo is out for the 177 now especially slugs. And i'm sure there will be more coming. Couple of guys have tried to get NOE to make a 177 mold based on the 172 but to no avail. Thanks and take care also
Sweet Sweet rifle . The whole set up is amazing. Every feature. That barrel makes it so unique. Great work
a Real gun Barrel Holy Shit.
Rifle Companies Hmmmmmmm? Ch-ching.$$$$$$$ an Unholy
but Beautiful union of PCP and firearm Badassery.
This is awesome. It is a beautiful gun but so many interesting innovations. The long, narrow, heavy slug is an interesting concept to explore. That could be a real game changer. Well done, sir!
Love the odd ball attitude lok
Now that's nicely done 👍👍
The gun is magical, beautiful,,,,,,,,great shoots,,,,,,,congratulations, on your new creation,,,,,,,,i cant wait to get one,,,,,,,👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Man o man! Bruh I'm glad you finally got that puppy finished. She is a looker! And that accuracy is off the chain. Outstanding work fella!
Thanks DUB C A. Appreciate ya brotha and appreciate the kudos. Funny thing is, this little sucker has some serious accuracy potential and she has me on the run tryna figure it all out.
Very cool.
Thanks
Super cool I was thinking of doing a 17 hmr to my condor also. I wound up useing 5.45 barrel instead and I'm using 52 to 60gn slugs. I'm using green mountain barrels also they are great for the price. I built a custom reg for mine with a 130cc plenum regulated at 195 bar makes 100 fpe easy in .22. Very cool well done sir
You are so awesome dude I want to be just like you when I grow up . What a beautiful looking rifle Great video as always my brother .
An old video but somehow missed it. Awesome build dude and you got that same oddball attitude as I do. It just has to be different to be interesting.
I do enjoy watching your videos....i learn a bunch. I also like what you said about the "why you chose airforce, for the base", even though there's isn't much of the original CONDOR left 😂
Such a beast
Very nice! That rifle turned out amazing! Nice how you are able to combine powder burner barrels and incorporate them into an airgun platform.
Machine them down on a lathe to fit the breech block
Great job my man!
Very little muzzle flip. Kudos!
Oh for sure! Yeah, not much recoil due to many factors. One mostly being the HEAVY barrel
That looks sweet 😍😍😍👌
awesome gun
Thanks NICO
great, really good mesmo
This is TOP TIER my man!
That rifle is a driller!! Wow!
Nice shot
Amazing shooting! Aloha!
Awesome
