Airforce .338 AirPua: GROUPS at 110 (.5") and 342 yards (1.6")

- Took the .338 AirPua out for a quick shooting session. After verifying 110 yards P.O.I., I decided to group the gun at that range also. Then, I blast a few reactive target at 300 and 342 yards. Then, I decide to group the gun at my steel rabbit target while it was at 342 yards!

I know you said its mainly for target not for hunting but you know many of us are curious as to what the FPE is at that range. Deadly im sure because those jugs and cans exploded. That was jaw dropping eye popping. Gotta watch again

Wow! Amazing groups from any gun, let alone an airgun shooting a cast projectile! I'm going to have to back up and look at the other videos to see more on this rifle and your cast. Congrats!

Its so funny how you mention that long range is just inevitable. I told someone the same thing a while ago with my other hobby flying drones fpv. You start out small and close and the better you get the further you try to go. Now I can already feel myself wanting to get some distance out of my air rifles..lol Thanks for the great videos, and wow what a killer group on that rabbit.

That is sooo sweet. The best I've done so far, with my Hatsan 87QE (springer) .22 is a milk jug at 150yds. After getting the aim point hit it 8/10 though, and that was with it's second iteration, UTG droop compensating mount and a Discovery 6-24x44mmAO scope. It's now on #4, with a discounted Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-14x44SF/FFT scope. Hoping to push for 200, with diabolo pellets (Air Arms 16gr).
Oh, it can be done. Hell, im rooting for ya. Lots of ways to get range without boosting fps. A scope with plenty of dots or hashmarks gives you options and also, lowering the scopes magnification helps with extending range also. HAVE FUN BUDDY

@@Tofazfou I thought so …..I lived in Yucca valley about 22 yrs ago ..and my sister is still there ..out old woman springs rd… they have a boarding kennel…in some ways I miss the desert.. since living there I went to Oregon.them Montana and now Kentucky… I do get around some. Thats an insanely accurate airgun. I got my 50 texan and made a 450 grain spitzer mold and have a moav valve with a donny fl suppressor . Waiting for my arken sh4 gen 2 scope. Cant wait to see what it can do with that new round .

That is just incredible shooting! Congratulations Sir! Incredible gun too...I can only envy you as here in Spain the legal maximum for airguns is 24 joules ...better than the UK I suppose. I have a couple that make 40 joules, but your guns are incredible. I saw your pistol shooting too .....wow! Hi i been watching your videos for a while now and just wanted to say i think your videos are very informative very well detailed and sooooo much fun you really are a talented gun builder and a wicked shot to boot i wish we had the law on our side over hear so sadly we cant do the same but until then ill keep watching you do your thing pal with the law set at sub 12fpe we can still take small pests out to 70/75 yards if you are a competent enough shooter but with something like that just WOW once again your so entertaining keep the videos coming and keep building pal 😎✌. Nothing more to say..1" thick barrel, a texan and mad dog stock..solid gun a lot of tuning, sending lead long range..I will start my builds..thanks the path has been shown.

Man I love what you did to your gun especially the barrel who did the barrel work for you or did you do that yourself? Plus the wood or synthetic stock that you put under your texan and the but pad where can I get that stuff online,gun store, or someplace else? I want mine hydro dipped with viper snake skin 😀
Incredible accuracy, high precision build. Are you casting these slugs? I bet the bc is over 400. I'm thrilled when my hatsan .25 does 3/4" @ 75 yds, or my maximus does 1/4" @ 25. Thanks for the inspiration, I watched your channel before I bought my first pcp years ago. Daydreaming about an aea challenger 357 next.

Man! It's been a lil while since I have been active in the air gun hobby or kept up with you and Doug's adventures. As I had originally said a few years ago, ya seen 'em come and ya see them go.... Glad to see that you keepin the light on and moving forward. Looks like the Texan has turned out to be a winner platform from Airforce and you certainly have shown here that you can build upon it.
I took out my .257 the other day and certainly didnt seem as pleasant to load as the Texan is with its side cocking mechanism and the ease that you so effortlessly chamber those heavy 338 bullets!
Great work! How does the .338 ballistic coefficient compare to a .308, 7mm or .257???

Just found this comment. Sorry for being late to respond. But, great to see you hear. Well, the .338 ballistics Coefficients are pretty good compared to small calibers. One advantage it has over the smaller calibers is that it has more weight. Even if the BC's between the 338s and the other calibers where similar, the 338 still outweighs them and weight helps with travelling downrange in conjunction with BC. And yeah, a lot of people left the Tag Forum due to OVER POLITICKING

Dang I believe that 338 may be as accurate as my Remington model 700 Custom in 7mm mag at 500yds. Dam that is impressive.

AirForce: The most convenient air gun! Sometime you don't even have to pull the trigger. Just disengage the safety, and it goes off!
NEVER EVER HAD THAT HAPPEN and I have 4 of them. Can't speak on what someone else has had happen.......... Once you've been in the business as long as I have, you see and find out some of the CRAZIEST things have been done to airguns. Thats why I NEVER BUY USED AIRGUNS

My AirForce airgun was purchased new, and I've had it happen several times.
The standard solution from the blogs is to remove the safety, which is a pain anyway because it engages automatically each time the gun is cocked.

Do any of your slug air rifle have a choked barrel?
GREAT QUESTION! No sir. My custom guns actually use powder burner barrels which are not choked. This barrel is the same for a .338 lapua magnum except the twist rate is different.
