Welcome back Mallory ❤ Any photography with the right meaning and soul is good. Landscape is my favorite. I will venture into wildlife specially birds. Going back to film as that’s the way I started. Corporate America is done for me after many years…semiretired now! The acoustic guitar in the back looks beautiful…I play some also. Well, be safe and thanks for sharing your life…you are very natural! Cheers..

Thanks so much for your transparency, in sharing what has worked. The ever changing algorithm feels like something out of Black Mirror. And thank you more for sharing professional and personal details so we get to know you better. So many of us are juggling. Bless you for not only sharing what you think is valuable, but sticking with it to prove it's a worthwhile investment of your time. I'm so happy it's symbiotic!

I've tried to do my own thing on this channel... so far it's mostly worked! The balance of algorithm chasing vs keeping it real is a constant struggle... appreciate your kind feedback more than you know!

I'm glad your channel is good. I think that what is followed a lot because they like it a lot are the wildlife videos, for example eagles fishing in a dive, to give an example. Also, for example, whales or similar animals close to humans... Also, I think people like the video more and especially the one that has to do with your day to day, your life. One of the problems of IG is the advertisements and also the photos or videos that people post without control, on any site. 👍👍

Couldn't agree more about Instagram! I never see my friends work anymore bc it's all dogs and travel accounts from strangers! Thank you for the kind words and for following along :) Will definitely be doing some wildlife videos soon!

I like ALL of your content. I am a novice photographer so there is SO much for to learn from ALL genres. I have a Leica Q2 and am still learning the camera. I have had difficulty going out because the 100 plus degree weather has taken a toll on me. Perhaps for the time being; I will start shifting fruits and vegetables

Hey Mallory! I tuned in when looking for Lica Q2 and Sony reviews. But I stayed for your magnetic delivery. I also did my first dark sky photos this weekend thanks to you. Got up at 3:00am and used the dark sky map you showed. It was wonderful. Pictures were awful but I learned so much. You inspire me.

I should honestly share some to show the progression haha. But seriously, thank you for the kind words and sticking around :D Happy shooting, Bruce!

Congrats! And interested in bird/wildlife. I find myself going longer and after a great unplanned shoot with some seagulls with my 70-200 (Nikon), I'm about to pick up the 200-500 that just went on sale and try more birds.

To your question about what we are interested in: I found your channel because I'm thinking about getting the Canon Pro-1000. But videos about that printer are only going to hold my interest if you continue to address day-to-day issues, like the video about the scratched prints. You will also need to start getting into using ICC printer profiles, and maybe even custom calibration, if you don't want to run out of things to talk about with that printer. Sure, that content will be "evergreen" (until Canon stops selling that printer), BUT you will have trouble growing a forest of those "evergreens" if all you talk about is how great the prints come out when you use only Canon paper and let the printer manage the color. Try other papers. Tell us what you think. Update your printer's firmware and start printing 47.244" long prints. Tell us what tricks you figured out to make sure that paper feeds square. What roll papers work best? You might experiment around to figure out the absolute minimum amount of printing (possibly on plain paper) necessary to stave off "The Purge" cleaning cycle. Not everyone is going to have 4x6 photos that they want to print every other day.
Do another video about the costs, once you amortize in the cost of the printer over its lifetime, the inevitable cost of those "maintenance cartridges" averaged over a year or so, and the cost of the paper and ink to perform those "minimal prints" to avoid "The Purge." Calculate the absolute minimum cost per month to own that printer if all you do is "minimal prints" on plain paper every other day.
I have NO interest in the Leica Q2. I have a Sony A7R2, and I might get one of the new a6700s as well.
I subscribed to your channel because you have a practical, no BS style, and you talk like a normal person, instead of putting on a phony "I'm a RUclipsr" persona. AND you talk at a normal, human pace, instead of "Standard RUclips X2 Speed."
But, as someone who also lives in Small Town Texas, I would like to hear about how you find interesting things to shoot out here. There is a SMALL photography club in my town, so I will share your channel with them. I'm sure they would also like to know, or just discuss, inventive ways to do photography out here (without taking 40 flights, all over the country). Yes, even innovative ways to shoot rodeos and livestock (we have a LOT of sheep out here): Who to talk to to get permission and access. Tips about livestock behavior and how to get the best shots. Maybe get into macro photography. We can do that everywhere. How to care for our cameras in the heat, and with all this dust. This is the kind of real-world, practical stuff that lots of people want to know about, but that most (if not all) standard RUclips photography channels never even touch on.
P.S. Even though I have no interest in portraits or studio photography, most of the local photography club is. But they often lament that they can't find good locations around our town for portraits. While you can't name specific locations (because you aren't here), you can go over the TYPES of locations people would look for, what makes a good location, etcetera.

Seriously great feedback, Grant! For the Canon Pro-1000, I have several new paper types I plan on doing some comparisons of very soon! And I most definintely cannot wait to try the new update of 47" prints!
Glad you find my voice/speed/delivery to your liking! I'm just real... I wasn't sure how folks would respond to my style, but glad it's kept your interest thus far.
I love your suggestion about "small town shooting." I spend a lot of time in my community - cycling, hiking, shopping, etc. and I do have plans on incorporating photography into these types of experiences! Perhaps some BTS of composing shots, settings, and to your point - wildlife, macro, etc!
Seriously grateful for your thoughtful feedback here! I hope you enjoy the content that comes in the future because I think we are definitely aligned :)
