@bosniansenad I got no sound if I m using radio, but if I use media over my bluetooth connection sound is back.lol it's not perfect but at least I got my screen on and I m using my phone for music and everything else so I m good thx again
JUST bought an 09 A4 Avant. I have EXACTLY this issue. Ill be getting to work on this ASAP and this was the only video I found with my exact issue. Thank you in advance!!!
@@Spawn931unfortunately no it didn’t fix mine but I’m glad I purchased the fiber optic loop as it’s handy to troubleshoot things. Any luck with yours? My MMI acts like it wants to turn on. I can put a cd in and it is playing but I can’t hear it and only black screen. Any ideas what it might be that you can guess? Thanks and good luck with your issues.
Thanks for the info. Have a 2015 audi Q7. MMI was working. Wife went somewhere, shut off car, took care of business, got back in and nothing. The CD will still eject and load, but no screen, Buttons don,t work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did just order the loops.
I’m not sure, I have not replaced a mmi yet, but I believe it may need reprogramming. If not then check all your connections again and also check fuses. If you replaced your mmi because it stop working then also check for water damage in the truck as well as under the glove compartment.
Most of them up to 2014 with have a similar layout and location. It’ll either be located on the left or right side of the trunk or under the glove compartment.
I tried putting the loop on what you showed but nothing however I put the loop on my CD changer optic port and the buttons and screen turn on for a few seconds. Any ideas?
Dude I’ve done this it worked to fire up the MMI but I’m not able to use the media or getting any sound at all, I know the radio will not work but why isn’t the other functions like the SD card etc
Thanks a bun h for this video. Got same issue with my Audi A6 2009 sedan. I noticed in my back trunk the compartment is different than yours, do you kno where to access these Fiber Optic cable in a sedan 2009 A6? Appreciate in advance
It might be located under the passenger dashboard or behind the screen itself. I say passenger dashboard because a few Audis have had a known water leak in that area which damages the mmi. Check for mold or water damage underneath carpet I’m not entirely sure where exactly it would be though.
Hey sir, we are having issues with a 2005 audi A6 3.2L v6 quattro we just got last night and we cant figure out how to get the mmi system to unmute. Nothing we tried will work. (Replacing fuses, looking through the actual audi manual, pressing the volume knob quickly and to left and right, unplugged the positive terminal to the battery, baby reset the mmi, hard reset the mmi, bypassed the mmi amp with said fiber optic cables, nothing.) You seem knowledgeable on audis, this is our first time,, please can you help us out. We dont really have enough money for a diagnostic where we are from (ducansville, PA)
Bro i put the bypass cable from Amazon, the screen doesnt shut off now but there is no sound nothing.. not available. What can i do? To get any music out of the speakers? Thanks
Check the fuses Make sure there isn’t any water or mold near your amps. Might need new amps. You may need to replace your mmi controller. You can either replace the whole thing or take it apart and replace the circuit board insides.
Me either, I've looped out everything in the trunk, seems to me like everything is getting power and the optical signal, but yet my screen and MMI buttons still don't show any signs of life
Check to see if there are by blown fuses, also issue with your battery can effect the mmi as well. I will be posting some more methods to try later this month.
Thank you for this video 🙏 you literally saved my life. Had same problem and got back my mmi. Work's perfect. The only problem I still have is no radio and 5amo fuse on the right side in the boot keeps blowing off don't know why. Any ideas?
Check for water damage in the truck as well as under the the glove box and passenger seat carpet. Could be corroded connections somewhere. What ever the fuse is for, check the area where the components it regulates is.
Make sure you check your fuse box for any blown fuses. Also make sure the aux wires are not the issue. You can also try unplugging all the systems in the back and replug them in. Another issue but not likely would be your mmi controller is damaged.
Hi there boss Martin I wanted to ask you if you can possibly steer me in the right direction. I have an Audi s5 2011 b8 and have the dreaded black screen. I know the system acts like it’s working fine other than a black screen and no sound. I can turn on music thru cell phone and it’s playing I just can’t hear anything. I put a cd in and I can hear it like it’s spinning and still no sound w/black screen. I did purchase the loop and had no luck. The only problem I had was a coolant leak in the manifold coolant union (right near firewall behind manifold) which was a problem for several months but is now replaced (I don’t know if hot coolant could have melted a wire possibly? That may sound ridiculous but I just can’t figure this out. Thanks for any help.
Definitely check the fuses as they may have blown somehow due to the coolant leak or other factors. Also check the condition of your battery. A weak battery can cause many systems of the car to not function properly.
I haven’t seen this issue on a 2020 a4 before, but check for any water damage in the trunk or glove box area. Also check your fuses and replace any of them that might be blown.
Ciao amico io ho un Audi a 5 del 2011, ho un problema con l’audio dello stereo non si sente più, solo se metto un cd si sente a tratti , ma il resto delle funzioni funzionano tutte
You can find an amplifier for your car on eBay for a used one ECS tuning may have one for your car. I’m not sure if it’s plug and play, I think it may need to be recoded by Audi to work. Not sure though.
Was wondering if you can help me out ? I have an 09 audi a4 s-line : everything works turns on as should ; just no audio at all. Nothing from gps or radio at all. Doesnt even show the volume knob being in use.
I would suggest taking the mmi apart and cleaning around the volume knob, it may not be making contact with the board. Does the volume control on the steering wheel work? Also check for any blown fuses.
Definitely check the condition of your battery, you can bring it to auto zone or local parts store and they can check the condition for you. A weak battery can cause many systems in the car to malfunction. Also check for any water damage wherever your radio and amplifier is located.
If this video helped you out, please help me out by subscribing, I’m trying to get to 2k subs! 💪🏾

Also check for any water damage wherever your radio and amplifier is located.
