- This is a quick video how to diagnose the MMI malfunction. These are the few steps to follow to see what the problem might be before going to the dealership and spending hundreds of dollars to replace the whole multi media interface circuit board. most of the time it could be fixed by yourself.

THANKS! The reset was exactly what was needed. Saved hundreds if not a thousand dollars by not having to take it to a service centre (where they would have done exactly the same thing but told me I needed a new MMI unit I'm sure)

Thanks, helped. Had my windscreen washer fluid spilled in boot (trunk) at that side. Dried it and worked like a charm. Had a sound like mini sparkles happening on passanger side, I guess the fuse was making that noise, but all saved, didn't have to change anything.
What helped for me after i jumpstarted the car with a booster is, reconnecting the battery so it resets itself.
Mine had the turn on and off loop. Hope it helps for others I did this on my audi s5 07.

I have the same issue for the second time now. My battery voltage is at 11,7 at rest. Could it be the battery? And also please could you explain solved your loop reboot?
Man I got rid of my S5 already, too much money to fix that and time as well, dealership don’t even know the issue I’m not going to pay labor for them to read codes ?

Hey if everyone wants one last ez try, unplug your big fuse that says “40” behind the fuse box, clean it and stick it back in. I also unplugged two square box style fuses that say something like “634” on them and replugged them back in... cancelled my apt to mechanic and haven’t had a problem in 1 month so far.
I think the 40 AMP Fuse was the problem cuz it looked very dirty and I had to clean green stuff of it.
Going to buy a new one obviously but give it a try and reply to my comment if it worked !
behind which fuse box? the one in the trunk? the one in the cabin? or the one in front? did you have the mmi completely turned off? because that's my problem that my screen is totally off!
@@cocinandoconfrancis yes is the one in the trunk, my mmi was off until I unplugged it and cleaned it.

Mine turned off this morning. It flashed sometimes hopefully it’s nothing serious so I’ll definitely try these. I know my battery is almost dead so that may be a factor to. 🤷🏻♂️

Bro we sold it before we got to fix it so i dont really know but I would say take it to the shop that handles electric problems they ll figure it out

Was the original fuse blown ?? The one you replaced was it blow and not connected ?

The battery in my Q3 died at the gas pumps a few weeks ago 😯An elderly gentleman helped me with a jump, but he connected the cables incorrectly. I was sitting in the car and the MMI blinked and hasn't come back on since 😪. I have no navigation, radio, Bluetooth, etc☹. Can someone help me PLEASE? 😊 Thank you in advance!

Find your fuse box and look up anything for the radio like cd player or whatever and check the fuses!!
My screen won't even come on. I reset it then it comes on for 10sec.

@@tonyhernandez7008 you should be able to fix it if you just follow the same steps, check the fuse box on the right side, it most likely is the fuse

Sorry we didn't get the chance to figure out the sound problem, but lot of forums said that you gotta do a hard reset on the receiver in the trunk, disconnect the three cable connectors. might work
