Sometimes if I am running the SVDS, I would carry the suppressor on me and have it off when on the move, then slap it on for long range engagements when target is unaware or just holding sniper positions.
For the loud version, I think the modernization kit is also worth mentioning. You can make a 50.5 ergo / 114 recoil or 54.5 ergo / 119 recoil build based on stock preference.
Also, an SVD with the mod kit is one of the best-looking guns in the game. It's the firearm equivalent of a dane axe; big and heavy, but not as unwieldy as you might expect, and utterly deadly if it connects. 😂
its so awesome seeing you over the years develop into a beast in pvp. been watching you for forever for info, now youre on of my favorite to watch for pvp, you just have a real knack for strategy and outplays that no one else in the streaming community ive seen has, they are just good at head taps (not that youre not). you always make me wanna jump back on tarkov, im not out of it i just have been playing other games but you just make it seem so fun.
i use an unsupressed svd w/ the viper. and exactly as you said, i leave scavs alive and move bush to bush, but my optics are the swampfox 3x and the deltapoint. its my favorite squad wiper since 12.12
The SVD is still my favorite gun. Personally, as stock, I like running the GL-Core. It's cheap, it has a ton of ergo and you don't really lose recoil using this compared to a lot of other ( especially ergo- ) stocks. Plus the buffer tube can even some things out. Since I'm a bit more of an Ergo guy on this weapon anyway, i tend to run it unsupressed. Meanwhile the ammo kinda does most of the rest for me.
I got a 98 recoil with 30 ergo (with a huge hit from the thermal and mag) so you can def have a recoil and ergo build. If I remember I'll post the build tomorrow and see what happens when I take the thermal off
I play the SVD like it's a big AK. That is pretty much the design philosophy of the SVD originally anyway. It was created in order to give an infantry squad the ability to defend itself or begin attacks at 800m rather than waiting/maneuvering the enemy to within 400m. Guard for a guard tower or overwatch position without sacrificing a fighting rifle in exchange for a snipers rifle. It was actually designed and manufactured by a guy who specialized in building rifles for Olympic rifle competitions.
Never really had an issue with the SVDS. Is my all time favourite in the game so I basically spend every wipe farming them from players until I have a huge case full. The DRG laser mount under the barrel is something I always use - I find it has a super tight line with the barrel and I think that helps this be basically the most OP point fire gun in the game IMO. I am never worried about close range combat with it, I just hip fire spam and it absolutely wrecks people. Typically all I add as a minimum is the suppressor, DRG with blue laser and the SAG low profile dovetail mount. That is genuinely all you need, you can add whatever you want but the amount of times that minor change will mean life or death are pretty minuscule. I would never use without the suppressor once they added it to the game, simply because I know if anyone is like me, they'll stop what they are doing and go and 'collect' that glorious gun :D
There are better DMR alternatives with SVD being so expensive, but there’s something about it. I love the feeling of holding the first DMR ever created that saw real combat. The round selection is okey. Once you do the Punisher quest line, BT is just too good
I just run it unsuppressed and get close to people. Use the cheap dovetail sights if you want for a reflex or zoom, and place your shots right. It’s a 54R for Christ’s sake, it hits like a tank
Unsupressed and the GL-core stock makes the ergo on this gun super snappy. You're running an SVD, you WANT people to know you're shooting big boy ammo lol
Currently with how recoil is in the current version of EFT I think going for max ergo is the way to go. If you are using any keymod handguard in the game you should just run the +10 ergo grip. Saves on weight of adding a rail to mount a grip and is beat in slot for ergo. I really wish they would add the SVU (the bullpup SVD) to the game, i also don't understand why there aren't any different muzzlebreaks for it other than the standard break. On most maps I just run the 2x scope, until LPVOs can actually function properly it's the only 2x sight in the game and feels perfect for 80% of gun fights, my dream optic is just a 2x with a 2x magnifier.
Yeah but after 50 ergo the difference is barely noticable from say between 55 and 75 is almost the same. Honestly i go ergo first then start subtracting with recoil parts till I hit around 50 to 55. Now the difference from 40 to 50 is almost night and day and you feel every point under 40. I been doing a lot of test on this. Try running your guns around 55. They really feel great and you realize you need much more so long as your stay above that 50 mark
huh?? He literally ate like 3 shots at most lmao(which makes perfect sense assuming he was wearing a t5/t6 plate w/ class 3 aramid))...not all of those rounds hit him, and pretty sure at least one of those was an arm shot. If you dont aim center mass and shoot people directly in the plate, then theres no issue.
my favourite svd build is an unsuppressed full ergo build wtih a viper pdw stock, sag chassic with the MVF keymod grip and a specter. Absolutely nukes people up close and at a distance.
svd is a beast at cqb, i run it with an eotech, are, moe, se-5, suppressed with the modeenization kit. spamming bs or snb and everything dies instantly :D
vertical recoil does not matter at all. There are few stats for the weapons that are not in the description that really matter. For example, the time from the shot to zero center the gun after it. That means that vertical recoil with the gun that is zeroing faster can be ignored. For example just try same stats ergo and recoil on Adar and tx15 - you will understand what i mean. Same stats but using and firing weapons are completely different.
exactly, and its not a svd map in my opinion. if you want to run it, you need to adopt your play-style to the gun you want to use. if i run a long dmr i’m not running around like a madman or go into close combat if i can avoid it (or i bring a kitted-out m4 as a second gun) , so ergo doesn’t even matter all that much. you find a nice spot, observe and pop some heads from distance.
I'mnot a huge fan of how this series has turned into "here's how to turn this cheap build into a meta build". Yes, I know the Vudu is objectively better - but outside of SPT I will never buy one because it's way too expensive. I'll use the Elcan (or more probably the HHS) because I can actually afford it. And the 1-4 LPVO isn't cheaper by enough of a margin to make a difference. Same with the suggestions to swap out the foregrip for the SE5 or whatever it was - yeah, no, it's like 60k. I'll pay 15k max for a foregrip.
@@OutCome5 If the person whose weapon he picked up doesn't have a meta weapon, then there is a reason for that. Possibly he is one of those players who does still run somewhat budget conscious builds. Initially in this series he made sure to keep the build similar in price and function to the weapon he picked up. Essentially, he explained how to use the same amount of money to build the same type of weapon for the same use case, but better. That was useful. Just using any random weapon he picked up as an excuse to make meta builds defeats the point of this series.
@@grizzly6153 Believe it or not, quite a few players are actually struggling to collect money and gear, and so they don't run meta weapons. Last time I ran a meta weapon was probably in 0.9 or 0.10, before thousands of ubersweats - and cheaters, from what I hear - found this game and turned me into the rattiest of rats, and eventually, with the help of BSG itself, pushed me to instead start playing SPT. Besides, making meta builds isn't very complicated. They're easy to figure out, and easier yet to google. Making the best of a limited budget is a different story, which is why the original premise of this series made sense - improving guns within the budget of the original, whilst also keeping the original purpose.

the viper stock increases ergo tenfold to the point with a suppressor and big scope it sits around 40 ergo
which is good for a sniper
