Quite a different version from my childhood, when I sang it in the basement of the little Methodist Church I went to at the time! It's a little complicated for young people to sing (especially acapella).
very good, but i heard a lot of “chu” instead of you. but it’s all in the style! my director didn’t like the chu, but it’s all up to the director! :D good job!!
It is funny what ignorance brings. If most of these people knew what the song really means, they would ban this song from the annals of society. It was mistaken to be English sung by the slaves. English it was not. Interested, look it up. Research... :)
