People who are extraordinary are the ones who are able to inspire men like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr along with spending days in areas affected by violence (without any weapons) in order to establish peace (which Mahatma Gandhi did in Bengal).

@@MrPeaceGuy54 In 1960, South African police killed 69 black protesters in the town 40 miles south of Johannesburg; amid the crackdown that followed, the government banned the ANC. As the ANC went underground, Mandela became the head of the military wing of the African National Congress, Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation), also known as MK. In 1964, he was convicted of sabotage and treason, and wound up imprisoned until 1990. TIME later described the group’s activities from 1962 as “low-level guerrilla war.”
Defending the shift in strategy as a last resort, Mandela said in one of his interviews from prison, “‘The armed struggle [with the authorities] was forced on us by the government.'”

@@SniperDizzyJohny "I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence... I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honour than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor.
But I believe that nonviolence is infinitely superior to violence, forgiveness is more manly than punishment. Forgiveness adorns a soldier...But abstinence is forgiveness only when there is the power to punish; it is meaningless when it pretends to proceed from a helpless creature....
But I do not believe India to be helpless....I do not believe myself to be a helpless creature....Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will."
      -The Mind of Mahatma Gandhi
“In a world driven by violence and strife, Gandhi’s message of peace and non-violence holds the key to human survival in the 21st century, said Mandela.
“He rightly believed in the efficacy of pitting the sole force of the satyagraha against the brute force of the oppressor and in effect converting the oppressor to the right and moral point.”

@@tcdrx So, RUclips has decided to remove my comment for some strange reason. Perhaps it had an issue with the excerpt I had included in the comment. I will try again and now, instead of including a lengthy section of the articles, shall mention the headlines. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
People who want to make themselves look like victims without really wanting to be them would not spend days in areas affected by violence without any weapons for the sake of restoring peace. Sardar Patel, India's first Home Minister (who is often portrayed as someone who was not close to Mahatma Gandhi), talks about the value of the Mahatma's efforts in his 1948 address to the nation.
Mahatma Gandhi's ideas evolved with time (which, unfortunately, isn't something that is true for many). I acknowledge that some of his earlier views could be considered problematic, but I don't believe that this analysis is a complete one. As limited beings, I don't see any justification for believing that greatness requires perfection. Martin Luther King Jr, Desmond Tutu, and many others were also influenced by Mahatma Gandhi.
The following articles on Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela might be of some interest:
      1. "Nelson Mandela death: Examining the backlash" by CNN
      2. "Thinking with Gandhi on racism and violence: A letter to a friend" by ABC
I fear that the true manipulation and evil lies in disregarding profound goodness. This ultimately stems from, in my opinion, an ignorant perspective that can cause immense harm. Hopefully, a holistic approach will be preferred.
