So true. We, the healthcare professionals, are to translate or deliver our up-to-date knowledge by using our patients’ language so that the medical science becomes understandable & relevant to each of our patients, so that our patients can really choose and make decisions relevant to each of themselves, so that they gain confidence in themselves and then motivate to be “in-charge” of their own health. Ultimately, the success of a healthcare system should be “each of our patients is enabled to take care their own wellness.” We are the facilitators to help our patients to succeed. We need to bring the science closer to our patients... dictating medical instructions to patients has not been working so far, we need to change the outdated strategies to allow medical science become really meaningful to our patients.
