I agree with Jackie. The little white dove would look beautiful displayed with the sun shining through your window. If it was possible to have a 2nd favourite it would be the school slate. It has been difficult for many students over the past two years & this slate is a reminder that it was always difficult, yet important to educate the young (& young at heart).

Beautiful finds ladies! I think the hairy pipe is really meant to look like bark on a tree. I really love the little bottles, but I have to vote for the corn to go in the window because it’s so very odd❤️🐝🤗 Oh! And if you get one of those sand scoops with a long handle, you could reach out into the river and scoop things up, also you can put your land finds in there to wash off and not have your hands in the frigid water❤️
@@karleenpage5979 yes, that would work too, but I think I would like the scoop, because it would be so much easier to wash dirty pieces off without fear of dropping them in the river. Maybe I’m just a klutz🤗🐝❤️
MY request for the window display would be an Aqua jar filled with cod marbles ! Ya! Or a strand of painted pipe stems dangling above. Alex and Gail, I just want to say thank you for taking me away from hard things in my life with your wonderful adventures.

I love how you so artfully arrange your wonderful finds in the sun on your table. It makes them even more beautiful. I pick the precious little bird for the window display!
I started watching mudlarking by various people a few years ago probably. But I have got to say- you two are my new favorites! I enjoy watching yours more than most. Thank you for sharing.. I pray God's richest blessings upon you. 😇😊😉
Greetings Gail and Alex. Seems like the bird cake decoration is getting a lot of votes. I would vote for it too if it wasn’t for the white knuckle bone. Whatever wins, I’m sure it will be fantastic. The foreshore is definitely packed with pretty awesome treasures. Thank you for posting your videos on Monday. I really don’t like Mondays. Since you’ve changed days, Mondays are a whole lot better. That sweet little porcelain bird is absolutely exquisite!! To think, it once was a part of a long ago celebration, and through all these years, managed to survive practically intact🤗♥️♥️♥️ Wonderful find!!
G'day Alex and Gail just a short message to let you know how much I love your channel, I spend 14 hours a day driving heavy trucks up and down the east coast of Australia and all over the outback through some pretty remote locations and nothing else relaxes me quite like mud larking videos . every week I look forward to seeing all of you and your wonderful finds. thanks for all of your wonderful videos 🙂

Hi Gail and Alex! I would really like to see the small bird displayed in the window because it amazes me that his wings are still intact. You found some great treasures this week! The bird is a wonderful pleasing icon of grace, peace and joy.
I like the new format. You two always find cool stuff. For the window I'm stuck between the slates and the bird. Both represent so much. Thanks for another great video. 🌞🌞🌞
Thank you so much for taking us along with you as you find all those wonderful things. My vote is for the wee bird cake topper. What a precious find to have survived for so many years.
I vote for the little dove to go in the window for 2022…a symbol of love, of hope, and the dream of a bright future. All the best to you both for the new year!

Hi Alex and Gail, Thank you for taking us out on your mudlark. I love all the things you have found. What a great haul!😍 I like the fact that you give an update about your finds just after you found it. It really makes it come to life. The little bird cake topper definitely deserves it to be displayed in the window. ❤
The little bird is my pick for the window. I have to admit it was a difficult choice with all the great things found in this video. The little whistle is quite lovely also.
Lovely video Ladies and great finds! Your history of the deadly feeding bottle got me looking again at my own collection when I realised I have some of the components, I hadn't known what they were so thanks for the ID. I would have the little dove in the window, it represents love, peace and happiness and everyone needs those 😁💗🕊 x
Thank you Amanda! We would love to find a baby’s bottle too, it’s still on our bucket list. And that’s very true! We do all need more of that in the world. 🕊🥰
My impression when I saw the piece of lead Gail found is that it may have originally been double that size and attached to a length of thin rope. The rope and weight were used for 'sounding' depths from small platforms either side of the bow of vessels at a location described as 'the chains'. The rope usually had knots at intervals of either one or six feet the latter of which comprises a 'fathom'. A reliable and skilled sailor could measure the distance to the bottom by casting the lead weight then counting the number of knots when they retrieved it after it reached the bottom. Depth soundings were relayed back to officers standing with a helmsman on the 'poop' deck who subtracted the known distance from the chains to the mean water level or 'plimsoll' line to derive actual depth. Reliability was prerequisite to the task because repeatedly casting and retrieving the heavy lead weight was tedious and tiring. When some sailors became particularly tired they might occasionally seek illicit respite by 'swinging the lead'. This entailed maintaining an appearance of casting instead of actually doing so hence the use of the term to describe someone suspected of not 'pulling their weight'. As you might imagine sounding the depth was a very important responsibility directly related to the imminent safety of a vessel and everybody on board. Some scholars have suggested the term 'sounding' is derived from an arcane English word 'sund' meaning 'sea, water, or swimming'.
The little wedding cake bird is remarkable, but the children's cup fragment with D and the little dog is also a winner. I think either one would be a great addition to your window.

I use to decorate cake and used the plastic version of my choose to go in your window, the beautiful white dove. My second choose would be the corn on the cob China shard! You girls keep your videos so much fun. All but the targets story of the baby bottles. It was very interesting to learn about but sad to the story. Unlike the story of the Frozen Charlotte that we know was a poem. Please stay safe and be careful! ❤❤
One of the US based channels I watch (Adventure Archaeology) - Brandon brings a potato rake or grabbers when he creek walks so he can reach things that are in sight but the water is too deep/swift. Might be handy for grabbing those out of reach treasures or helping excavate things from the bank. I love the ordinary-every day ness of the slate for the window. I liked the idea that you could leave little messages on it too.
Hello, I love watching your videos. I think the top of the Cod bottle with the Marvel in it would look great in the window and it's such a pretty green and it's sparkle so well. I would love to see Alex cast the bird if it does work out. Both of you ladies are so very talented and all that you're doing craftwice jewelry rise everything. Hope 22 goes better for you. Fantastic finds! My favorite are the baby stone wears. That cake topper bird should be in the window. It’s absolutely amazing. But I love stone wear. Lol Hard choice. Xxx
I want to see the little bird cake decoration make the window. Then the shrews can peck at it. They haven’t made a showing in a while. Thank you for another great video. I like the way you are presenting the finds in the latest videos. Keep up the wonderful work!😊
I thought that top of bottle with a pour spout was so pretty!(4:26) Cut off the rough bottom & hang it! Anything cobalt is a stunner to me! The cod bottle top was my vote for the window! 🤗💖
Just want to say that I love your new format, it breaks the show up nicely. Truly professional & fun. I choose the little bird. Thank you girls. All the very best xno
Awesome finds as always! I think the little bird sitting atop the solid glass stopper would be a grand addition to the window. I can't wait to see what the copper nail is morphed to! Susan L.
Love the bits of history you include on some of your finds! You are so lucky to live where history is all around. Here in the wild west of America I count myself lucky to find an outhouse from the 1890s.
I love the tiny little bird! I vote for either that or the piece of corn cob glass, just because I’m from Indiana. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us!
I have one of those baby feeders that I dug up around 50 yrs ago, it is an Excelsior Feeder which is tear drop shaped with a flat bottom to sit on the night stand. This one is from around 1878 and would have had a rubber stopper with a tube running out. It was dug in an old dump in the town I lived in as a child in Ontario Canada. I never knew the deadly story behind them, thank you for sharing it. What a fantastic area you have to dig.
My vote for the window display is for the bird cake topper. It reminds me of the ones we used to have in the early 1960s. They came attached to a toothpick. It's very beautiful.
I just wanna hang out with the both of you, learning all the great skills you have, and find treasures.. is that too much to dream of lol? Great video ladies, ty!
HI!! I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS, SO ENCHANTING. I LIKE HOW YOU SHOW YOUR FINDS AT THE END AND EXPLAIN THE HISTORY INFO ON EACH ITEM. DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS AND THE SOFT MUSIC WITH THEM. LOVELY!!! MY CHOICE TO DISPLAY IS BETWEEN THE HAIRY LOOKING PIPE AND THE WHISTLE CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A PERSON, OR COULD BE WITH A HAT AND GLASSES.LOL MY IMAGINATION WENT ON OVER RIDE. WELL THANKS FOR SHARING AND MAKING MY DAY MORE EXCITED. PLEASE STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY. 🙏 💓 💕 ❤ 💗 💜 🙏
@21:51, wishing stone! Gail, those slates are great! I rarely see mudlarkers pull them out (I think this is only the 2nd time I’ve seen one). That hematite is huge! BTW, Alex, did you make Willie a citrine thistle? I thought I recognized the big chunk you’d found in one of your other videos. If so, it is really beautiful! I imagine amethyst would look just as pretty, and you could make smaller ones on key chains or necklaces (please forgive me if you’ve got this information in another video or your Etsy store). Anyway, I always love to watch you two genuinely get excited about every find. It’s contagious! ☺️
My vote for the window is the cod bottle top. It would be beautiful in the light and would be the best way to show the marble still trapped inside. Lovely finds this trip. I hope you can find a way to cast that beautiful little whistle. Perfect as a necklace or a charm for a bracelet. Also a sweet little ornament for a small Chrismas tree!
Hey guys I see that you’ve not been venturing out into the mudflats in a while, would love to see you guys venturing out there again and seeing what finds you can get!
The black holey rock is volcanic, you guessed right. You both found a lot of goodies that day you'll have to return. I always look forward to you both and your adventures. ♥️
What a lovely way to end my Monday! The subject of what to put in your window needs a theme… how about children’s artifacts… the slate, the tin whistle, and the little white dove.!.✨🕊✨I wish I was there. Ontario is too cold now.
That foreshore is amazing, if you go wading in, maybe take a bucket with a glass bottom to see what's lying on the river bed. Love the history behind some of your finds. Bottles are always nice in a window but maybe the cup part with the D. Thank you for sharing
Yes, we love this spot! I don’t think we could see through the water without a glass bottom bucket 🪣 Next time we visit we’ll have to take along our waders 🥰
Such a great place for treasure. The river was flowing fast for sure. Maybe a sturdy fishing net, one of the triangular shaped variety, would be helpful to scoop things out of the water. I saw many things l wanted to pick up 😁. A cheeky ask....l would love to see you making a piece of jewellery again, it's so good to watch. No pressure though😘 Thank you both xx

Ohhhhhh...that Victorian dove is gorgeous! Wow!! I love it sooo much! It is amazing it made it! Geesh! ( : I think this dove, a symbol of peace should be placed in the window for 2022! ( : It would be perfect! ( :
We love being with you two! Thanks for taking us all along on your larking adventures! Soooo much fun and always a grand adventure! ( : ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tracy ( :
I love the little bird. What a survivor! But the whistle is so pretty. Little bird is my vote.
Love your videos! look forward to them each week! I absolutely adore the sweet tiny bird and think it should be chosen to be displayed :)
That is a strange sherd! It looks as the dove has won this time though. Thank you for watching! 🥰💕
Thank you for taking me with you on your treasure hunt. Have a great week.
Favorite find.. the lil whistle!! Sooo cool! Ur tennent pipe cleaned up very nicely! Oh n u got a headless. Charlotte doll!!!! 👍🏻
Take care and stay safe
I was thinking the same thing! To give some insight as the object is found is very effective!
My vote goes for the little bird. 😁 I just adore you ladies. Thanks so much.
Awesome finds as always! I think the little bird sitting atop the solid glass stopper would be a grand addition to the window.
I can't wait to see what the copper nail is morphed to!

My vote for the window is the beautiful little bird. Absolutely adore ALL of your videos!
Wow! What a great haul! I love the little stone ware jars! However for uniqueness, I would have to go for the hairy pipe for the window!
I really like seeing cleaned-up pieces throughout the film. Super idea.
Hi lovely ladies, also from Australia 🇦🇺, the almost complete pipe would be my choice for the windows. Much love Sue Gosling ❤️
I love the cod bottle neck with the marble still inside, such pretty glass it would look lovely in the window!
No we haven’t, we do have one or two new locations though 😉
The black holey rock is volcanic, you guessed right. You both found a lot of goodies that day you'll have to return.
I always look forward to you both and your adventures. ♥️
Beautiful finds ! Loving the new video layout too great job
Thank you for taking me back in time. The bird has to be displayed to give us hope for peace in the future xx
Thsnk you for the great adventure along with the wonderful information you shared about your finds Cheers be safe keep creating♥️🇨🇦
Sending light and love to you both. I share you with my daughter in law and grand daughter. Thank you!
Congratulations on the great finds, Loved the Bird at the end , happy larking .
Hi ladies, loved watching you on your watery adventure. Please put the little bird in your window for the year.
Great finds. X
Hello girls lovely to see you again my pic is the little bird and how can it survive such a journey! Peace and love Julie
The cute little bird would look great on a branch in the window. Thanks. You made my day with all the finds today. Hello from Ontario Canada.
What a wonderful Adventure !! Well done Lady's.
