I am going to have to make this. I know my whole family will love it. Such a great meal to have in the freezer for when the 'starving' teenage grandson drops in and wants something to eat.
An update on the meatballs. I made them tonight and have frozen heaps for other times. They were delicious. I started chopping the parsley up and thought that it smelt strange. When I looked I had bought Coriander instead of Parsley!! We don't like Coriander. Too late in it went. Turned out great. The flavour was perfect and nobody noticed it wasn't parsley. haha I will be making them again. I put pork and lamb in them. My grandson packed them away!!!
With the amount of oil used, did you find your sauce swimming in the oil when the water boils down? I’m interested in trying the recipe, but the oil seems really excessive and oily sauce is off putting.
@@_letstartariot I only made the meatballs and fried them to have with mashed potatoes, pumpkin and mixed veges. If you are not keen on so much oil perhaps you could use not quite so much. It didn't however, didn't look too oily though. I am going to make that sauce at some time as I know my grandson, who has the appetite of an elephant, will love those meatball subs.
🥰🥰these look delicious! Did you have 2lbs each of pork and beef, 4lbs? It looks like a good amount of meat balls. I like know that we can pre freeze them. Love your channel already purchased your WONDERFUL BOOK! Ann in TEXAS
I clicked on this first because I like your channel. And secondly because I used to always get a meatball sub from Subway. But over the years I noticed it didn't taste good. So I switched to their turkey sub. The last one I got was turkey, provolone, tomatoes and lettuce. It was by far the worst looking sub I've ever seen. Each slice of provolone was broken at least in 2 pieces. But mostly 3 or 4 jagged pieces. It looked awful. You know what doesn't look awful? Your families meatballs. I may have to use this recipe to make my own meatball sub or spaghetti with meatballs. Also I don't know how much longer we have before your precious baby makes his or her arrival. But I hope you're doing well and taking it easy. Btw, you cat playing in the corner was so cute.
Honestly I forgive feline anarchy in the background of a video. Thank you for paying the cat tax and showing us them. I’m gonna try your milky bread trick in meatballs, I always usually add them dry.
What do you think cheese is made from? But as Daen said above, very common in Italian cooking. Try adding milk to Bolognese sauce, the richness it adds is wonderful.

I hope you enjoy it! And yes, the best meal to make in bulk and store in the freezer! I have some meatballs in my freezer atm.

That’s so funny, I was actually wondering if I could use cilantro instead of parsley bc I do not like parsley…..well you answered my question!

I like to sauté my onions till translucent and then add to meat mixture.
your cameraman is 100% about fond. it is the caramelized bits of food at the bottom of the pan.
Love ❤️ Daen Lia
I forgot to buy the stuff for the meatballs but I still made the tomato sauce. It's divine.
This looks beautiful. But can we make marinara sauce using just fresh tomatoes. And can we substitute parsley with spring onions
You definitely can! Sometimes I make the sauce with only fresh tomatoes.
Nice ❤
Thank you 💕

Aw thank you so much! 🥰
Amazing! What could I sub the pork with?
You could leave it out and replace it with lamb mince or just do a full kg of beef mince
Veal. You get flavor and still keeps it tender.
Your camera man is correct, it is called fond. Your recipes are beautiful.
ooooo YUM
very similar to my moms! nothin like homemade meatballs😛😛
Very delicious! Nothing beats a recipe from mum
garlic 🧄

Sarebbe ora di smettere con la carne, no? 😅
Meat and milk = ❌
This is how it’s traditionally made. A traditional bolognese also uses milk!
What do you think cheese is made from? But as Daen said above, very common in Italian cooking. Try adding milk to Bolognese sauce, the richness it adds is wonderful.
1 clove? For that amount of meat? That’s 6 large cloves for meatballs. 1 clove 😂
AND taking the garlic out of the sauce?! Mio Dio 🤦🏻♀️ mia testa!
You can always up the garlic if you prefer
Then do it yourself. You sound so obnoxious with your Mio Dio 🥱
Wow! This looks like it should be much more complicated to make, but you have just shown me that it’s not! 👏🏻🤌🏻😋
They are so easy to make!
