Thank you for this one and your other videos. I just received a Deepmind 12 for Christmas, and it will be (as a bass player) my first foray into synthesis! It seemed like good place to start, and so far I’m really enjoying exploring the possibilities it offers.
Good Heavens! That's an AMAZING collection. It pretty much looks like what I'd buy if I had the money and space. I'm definitely envious, but I'm happy that you get to enjoy all these great synths!
I LOVED my Z1. It's one of my all-time favorite synths. I had it for 15 yrs and finally sold it, and I don't regret it. It was time to move on. I replaced it with a Nord A1, and I love that one just as much.
I know I'm going to get some "hate" for saying this but I subscribed to your channel upon your announcement that you have a Korg Poly 800 which was my first synth! I bought ]t in 1984 brand new for just under $600, and I still have it.
I was surprised to see one of the old Roland Piano 70 keyboards in such company. I'm selling an immaculate one on Gumtree atm, so far no takers. Very nice studio you have there.
What a great set up Andy, over the years you really have managed to collected some of the best that there is to offer. With so many timbres covered in your collection is there any need or want for some of the current offerings on the market today, analog or digital? I must say from a poly point of view I have been impressed with what I have heard of the new Moog Muse although I have not yet bite the bullet.
The one I am most fascinated with among the models you displayed for us here is the Piano Plus 70. Out of all these, that’s the model that appears to have received the least RUclips coverage or attention in the vintage Keyboard/synthesizer community. Not that it hasn’t been demoed, but it hasn’t been featured as much as all the rest. Even that string synthesizer seems to have gotten more attention. I first learned about it from the book that introduced me to the wonderful world of electronic music making, a 1984 book by an author named Larry Kettelkamp called Electronic Musical Instruments: What They Do, How They Work. In recent years, something I have wondered about the Piano Plus is whether or not it has the same synthesis engine inside of it as the Roland MKS-10 module.
Hello Andy. Great to see the Logan String Melody II in your selection. One of the best string synths ever made. Kebu used to have one in his original set up. Logan did other stringers so I thought I would let you know it's proper name. I'm surprised that you don't have any of the Yamaha SK range or the Korg Trident but your high end vintage selection more than make up for divide down string synths. Some of your nineties synths remind me of Turnkey on Charing Cross Road back in the days. I'm really looking forward to seeing your Hammond organ and the Steinway piano. Do you have a Wurlitzer or a Rhodes?
@@AndyWhitmore You have what I call the dream full set. I have the Rhodes 88 Stage MK1. Usually musicians have a Rhodes or a Wurly and one is jealous of the other for having the one that they don't have. I've met a few Wurly owners and we joke about it. Having both and the Hohner is our dream. It's about having the real thing and having the feel as well as the authentic sound. Have a great week and I look forward to the part two video
This is kind of what my place would look like if I’d never sold a synth. But with Emulators and drum machines. So do you run audio up to that patch bay and patch them into your interface from there?
I have had them all connected in the past - it was a bl**** nightmare - leads stopping working, leads everywhere - & some synths connected ready to go & not being used for years - so now I have them easy access - & floating leads - its quick, efficient - but most of all - F****** TIDY!! - thanks for watching!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....(Take breath)aaaaaaamazing! As I was watching the video I was thinking I hope you have a good home insurance. That is Monet's and Da vinci's right there. Congratulations
@AndyWhitmore I have the Access Virus Ti2 , and my favourite synth the Access Virus Redback. The German made Waldorf synths look impressive, but I do not own any of that brand as I have enough synths for now 👍
Its a bit of a tight rope trying to do the right thing - I spent 4 hours removing something else I kept saying after my wife had watched the video!!! Anyway - thanks for the compliment as well!
@@AndyWhitmore Great video though... I miss my MC-202, but in fairness isn't *exactly* the same as a 101. The attack doesn't seem to be quite as snappy as the 101, the LFO is triangle only, and there's no noise source. I also remember that it's tiresome to edit sequences on. I ended up getting a pair of CMU-810's to use with it, which now seem to have disappeared from my possession. It resulted in this bassline sequence here (way too overbalanced) ruclips.net/video/MO2u0mB-fkU/видео.html

Hi again Andy!!
Great video and collection!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and the collection!
What a studio 🤘. Thanks for the tour!
my pleasure - thanks for watching! 👍
Thank you for giving us a tour of your amazing Sythesizer collection .
My pleasure - don't miss next weeks conclusion!!
Back in the 70's when I was in elementary school my Dad bought us a Roland SH-1000. I now have 16 hardware synths and need more. ;-)
20 is a good starting point
you are lucky - I remember seeing the SH1000 in an organ shop when i was very young!
in honesty - 20 is enough!
Really fantastic that the Nord Lead 3 went to a good home and is being utilised by the great man!
Absolutely! Thanks for the gift & it is getting good use!!!
I am drooling!
Thanks for the compliment!!!
Thanks for showing us your incredible collection Andy, this is like synth heaven!
My Pleasure - Thanks for watching!!👍
What a fantastic collection, would love to spend a day here!
It can be arranged - DM me - email on the website

Perfect Studio Andy :) im in love ..

YOU NEED MORE SYNTH'S !!!!
& less sense!
Impressive 😀 I need to play around with my SH-1000 after this video if it wants to start… 😜
It’s a sweet synth!!
Brilliant
thanks!!!

thanks for watching - the JD800 is essentially a JD990
@AndyWhitmore cheers, thanks for the reply.

yes - it took 4 days to film & edit - & even I had to have a shower once in that time!!

Traumatized! In a very good way :)
Traumatized in a good way? Sounds like we've unlocked a new genre: Synth Trauma!
Surprised no V-synth or EX-5 as well E-mu's or Ensoniq's but understand there more VA 90's -2000 era all the best from BC Canada
these would probably not make the list as they are not specifically synths - however - they are also cheaper to buy these days than number 11

excellent choice!
You do not seem to have any German manufactured synths, have you tried them ?
yes - you are right - i only have Native Instruments

61 keys!
