One simple game that can be played with kids on most Prague streets: Walk only on black / white tiles. You can even switch the "safe" color at unexpected moments.
The amount of generous, thoughtful and kind information you show us is phenomenal and well filmed/edited.. We appreciate it very much. Please keep it coming. Thanks you guys!
If you go to the Petřín hill with kids, make sure to stop by the Štefánikova hvězdárna! Very cool space exhibition, very suitable for kids, you can look at the Sun or stars through a massive telescope!
I feel like most of tourist/travel videos are focused on regular travellers (who travel without kids). That’s why I like that you guys follow an inclusive approach by also thinking about parents who visit the city with their kids. Well done!
We went up to Petrin tower just yesterday (was exceptionally hot day!) and our little one went on the merry go round (as did I!). Price of 70kC absolutely acceptable and was enjoyable. :)
We were (again) in Prague a week ago and one of our "must visits" is the Stefanik Observatory on Petrin. Just go to the top of the hill by funicular and go left, instead of right to the Petrin tower. Only a few meters and you can visit the observatory - at day to see the sun or by night to watch planets, stars or the moon in one of the two telescopes. And ever touched a real meteorit? Just amazing, and of course the exhibition is in english, too.
Hi Janek, Thank you for your wonderful videos on the city of Prague. i looked most of your videos and in last week of september , visited most of the places you mentioned. The children island for my daughter was very good, funicular train , gemüse-corner-kebab, astronomical clock, GRAND CAFE ORIENT ( got a stamp in my book), Kavárna Adria. We also had visited Ovocný Světozor (Hájek&Boušová), the sweet shop had closed temproraily , dont know why . Jidelna was also closed. we enjoyed the ice creams and alcohol cake. We walked behind for the garden and i showed how to splash the water far away by holding it for few seconds to my daughter as you did. Also we did goto the children playground end of charles bridge, but within few minutes a guard came with keys at 7pm to lock the gates. I love the city. Thanks to you and Honza for guiding around the city and doing the best videos of Prague and other nearby cities. I still keep watching new videos coming every sunday.
It’d be great to have a video for things to do with teens and games for them. Thanks for making the videos. Looking forward to bringing my daughter to Prague soon.
great timing, Honza and Janek. We are coming to Praha on Friday for the weekend. I will take my 3 kids to wander around, while the wife is at a softball tournament. So now I will be the awesome dad who knows all the cool things for the kids to do instead of doing just what daddy wants to do. Thanks
I actually never was like really wanting to visit Prague since it's quite a long drive vom Vienna, but after seeing a few of your videos, now I do really want. I have also seen a lot of things that were unknown to me so I need to see them in real now. Thanks for the well edited videos and also for your enthusiasm. You seem to really like doing this so keep doing it. Wishing you the best.
Ah, happy to see you recommend the NaFilm. I went there my last visit in Prague (on your earlier recommendation) and it was sooooo much fun! For everyone, 'cause it's interactive and the (then?) students are just great and deserve the best. ❤️❤️
Sadly, the iconic PEDRO shop is closed, but you can get some of the candies in big supermarket (we get them from Tesco). The fountain in that garden nearby was also broken, no water running.
I've been in Prague and have done 90% of the things in the video without seeing the video before. I'm so proud By the way, the best attraction with the water is located near Malostranska station where you can do exactly the same things as Janek in this video
i went to prague 2 years ago thanks to yanek. we really loved all those places. the kids also loved the other cablecar (to the hotel) and we rented a boat on the river. also riding the tram was a ton of fun for the kids.
I’m going next month with my kid and this video was super helpful!!! I was watching your food recs and they are great, do you have recs for dining with kids? 🥰🥰
Looking to take my toddler and wife next year to show them my homeland. I never visited as a smaller child, so I wasn't aware of some of these good places I've literally walked past before! Thanks!
I'm 2 years too late, but thank you very much for making this video. We're planning on visiting this May with our 1 year old son, and finding activities to do that are child friendly is always a challenge.
Also the view riding down that funicular is awesome of Charles bridge. Tram stop right by there is ujezd. Also there’s a bit of “construction work” on some tram lines that may not be on apps like Pubtran. Just a heads up for all!
I remember when I was 3 I spent about an hour & a half looking for the north end of Children's Island. It was the only playground that my parents took me to because I had a tendency to wander off & most Czech playgrounds are unfenced.
Hi! (I met you and your dad in Yad Vashem in Jerusalem a few years ago.. I am a museum guide there) My kids, who are grown now, loved the zoo, and the technical museum in letna. They also loved the fair in HOlesvice exhibition grounds.
I know it’s touristy but we took our kids to the Illusions Museum across from the clock tower. They really liked it, plus we got to watch the clock dance from up above across the street. Nice view. They loved the tower views too. I think they really enjoyed it all.
great video!! my toddler loves playground, we will check this out once we visit Prague.. btw, is it stroller-friendly there? like going to the top hill, etc?
I'm not sure about the hill but the city centre is all paved with large or medium sized paving stones so I'd recommend a stroller with big inflatable wheels 🤔
And here's a video on how to use the public transport with a stroller - use the door with the stroller symbol and wave at the bus driver to signal that you're getting on with a stroller. ruclips.net/video/aR-O4rI5_FY/видео.html
I recommend Království Železnic - Kingdom of Railways - train miniatures in Smíchov. I know its for kids but I myself spent there whole afternoon last time I was there :D
Nice! Another for the young and the young-at-heart. Love your videos as always. Have been to a lot of places you featured in this channel and every visit is memorable. I notuced when i visited them again is the RESPECT sticker posted like at the wall in the small Čertovka bridge to the Lennon Wall. Politely reminding the tourists no vandalisms and no love locks. Love it.
I would love to have your recommendation for Any museum that might interest kids Or a discovery and sciences city. Moreover, for Prague as the city of many music composers, any special places for kids in this concern? Thank you. I would like to add smthg about the games, it might be about the doors on the way up to the castle.
We need honest guide type videos for other cities in Europe as well, there are so many tourist traps all over the continent that somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing could easily waste a ton on stuff that’s heavily marked up.
Funny video, but these activities are mostly for a small kids. I'd add a Zoo, a water park and a few museums (Still Figures, Senses, Czech RepubRICK, National Technical Museum, etc.) as recommendations for grown ups.
Thanks for all the videos! I’m working my way through a lot of your stuff as we plan our trip. It’s a business trip, so we didn’t pick the timing - any special tips for bringing a toddler in mid February?!? 🥶🤦♀️
Maybe other candy stores are more expensive but they don't have flies crawling on the sweets? 😉 I'm surprised you did not mention the deforming mirrors at the end of the labyrynth. It's great for kids.
Hey Janek, We are going to Prague in couple of days and since I saw the weather is lovely is there a Swimming pool indoors that you could recommend for kids. Thanks I really love what you are doing thanks :)
My top after living in Prague for a year with a 1.5-2.5 year old kid Stromovka Riegerovy sady Dinopark in Galerie Harfa Prague Zoo Letna Park Maxa van der Stoele - only for hot days
Hello, We came to Prague as tourists and tried going to the candy shop 'pedro' as mentioned in this video. But unfortunately it is permanently closed. Can you please suggest some other shops where we can buy candies for a reasonable price? Thank you.
Dobry den! Janek & Honza Would you show some vegan/vegetarian food options around the city? (cuz m 🇮🇳) Prosím 😄 More food & beer vids are always welcomed😊
Does anyone know how long the carousel will be there? They say "for the season" but how long is that? We will be there in September and I am hoping it will still be there to see. Thank you!
Although my kids are grown and not with me, I literally did everything in the video today! It was a great day even by myself. Thanks Honza and Janek!
When I was in prague with my stag group we got taken to down hill bob slay thing

I second that. Just make sure that the night is not cloudy! Day time you can see exhibit and also sun.

I'm very proud of you guys! 😇
Could you do a video on vegetarian and/or vegan travel to Prague?
It’d be great to have a video for things to do with teens and games for them. Thanks for making the videos. Looking forward to bringing my daughter to Prague soon.
1:23 Pretty sure that is the seesaw, the swing is the one hanging on ropes or chains.
Perfect timing, i just came to youtube and saw this video came under minute ago :D, never clicked this fast
05:45 Janek in a nutshell. hahaha
Much love, thank you!!

Don't forget the Prague Zoo, just a little way out from city center. It's seriously good. Lions, elephants, bears, gorillas, you name it, they got it.
In Australia, that particular kind of liquorice is called "liquorice all-sorts".
The "ice" at the end of liquorice is pronounced as an "ish" sound . 😊
Ah, happy to see you recommend the NaFilm. I went there my last visit in Prague (on your earlier recommendation) and it was sooooo much fun! For everyone, 'cause it's interactive and the (then?) students are just great and deserve the best. ❤️❤️
Always buy a transport full day ticket. That is something I learned when I visited. Could save your knees some pain haha
Sadly, the iconic PEDRO shop is closed, but you can get some of the candies in big supermarket (we get them from Tesco). The fountain in that garden nearby was also broken, no water running.
On my FB timeline today: photos I took in Skautský institut, three years ago.
Also today: Janek & Honza go to Skautský institut. 😀
I love liquorice too! Would love to try the lékorky.
Also the kids could play 'Find the Honest Lamp'. 😉
Yea, that would be fun for me cuz im a kid
Film museum is defenately kid-friendly, intresting and fun !
2:18 Does anybody know what the black building is called?
Žofín has a decent playground and a small train kids can ride. I'd also recommend the Museum of Public Transport near the castle.
I've been in Prague and have done 90% of the things in the video without seeing the video before. I'm so proud

Yes please - where to eat with kids and what is polite/rude with little kids like is it okay to breastfeed and do bathrooms have changing tables?
My kids love Svetozor, they love The Sandwich. And amazed by the arts around Prague.
I can also recommend for kids Výtopna Railway Restaurant and Hemleys shop. Great video, and please more videos with activity for children.
Hamley's is also very nice, specially on a rainy day, and they can play a lot of things in there for free.
Looking to take my toddler and wife next year to show them my homeland. I never visited as a smaller child, so I wasn't aware of some of these good places I've literally walked past before! Thanks!

I've been in Prague two times with my doughter. Never boring
I have spent a lot of time in the playground at Ortenovo náměstí with my grandsons as they lived on Komunardů
This is super helpful. Thank you. Will try some of this spots.
I really like your stuff ✋🏻 greetings from Malmö, 🇸🇪

Oh and not all trams are accessible to strollers so look for the wheelchair symbol on the schedule/timetable.
I recommend Království Železnic - Kingdom of Railways - train miniatures in Smíchov. I know its for kids but I myself spent there whole afternoon last time I was there :D
Oh cloudy Prague.
Bet you would change that for some sunny Cres with 35 celsius Janek!
I am going on Cres ( Lubenice ) soon.
Nice! Another for the young and the young-at-heart. Love your videos as always.

My ‘kids’ are grown, but thanks for sharing all the fun things for all of the ‘kids at heart!’😁
As always, very good video 😁 did few activities and would do remaining! First on the list is honest candy store !
it's nice to see you re-introduce those places since the old video were deleted
Would like you to show some resturants for kids and some tivoli/water parks please. 🇳🇴
You guys are amazing
Great video as always!
@HONESTGUIDE wow was not expecting a heart thank you!
Thank you for making this. When traveling with young children it's often hard to find the "secret spots".
I would love to have your recommendation for Any museum that might interest kids Or a discovery and sciences city. Moreover, for Prague as the city of many music composers, any special places for kids in this concern? Thank you.
I would like to add smthg about the games, it might be about the doors on the way up to the castle.
karel zeman museum is also for kids
Thank you for this!
Yes yes yes! Thanks! I was there again first week of August. But these tips are welcome for next summer :) !
We need honest guide type videos for other cities in Europe as well, there are so many tourist traps all over the continent that somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing could easily waste a ton on stuff that’s heavily marked up.
Thanks for tips! I'm waiting for more!
Funny video, but these activities are mostly for a small kids.
I'd add a Zoo, a water park and a few museums (Still Figures, Senses, Czech RepubRICK, National Technical Museum, etc.) as recommendations for grown ups.
Love from Uk
Any beer gardens with playgrounds? They’re common in Munich and I was hoping Prague had them as well. Also, any kinderbier?
Thank you I always wanted you to do this video.
When i was visit Prague in 2014 , i was almost every park in this beautiful city. It was Awesome.👍👍👍💯
PANR has tuned in.
Is there an arcade to go to in the center of prague ?
Love from Nepal

I'm surprised you did not mention the deforming mirrors at the end of the labyrynth. It's great for kids.
The one with the fly was the expensive one
@@Terezka611 Makes sense... The fly is extra 😂
Maybe as an extention to this. But what about what to do with senior people visiting Prague.
Hey Janek, We are going to Prague in couple of days and since I saw the weather is lovely is there a Swimming pool indoors that you could recommend for kids. Thanks I really love what you are doing thanks :)
Where were you two weeks ago!? :D
Thanks. Just another reason to love Prague!

Hello,

Can you make a video on learning to speak Czech if you are planning to visit once the world opens up ?
Dobry den! Janek & Honza

is there still that free funicular to Petrin that starts as an elevator in a hotel?
yes, still is there... prague.tv/en/s72/Directory/c217-Sightseeing-Attractions/n14037-Smichov-cable-car-back-in-service
I don't have a kid but I am a big kid so I wanted to see what cool things you have there :D
If Janek promies me a beer, I will buy for him (and myself) the whole candy store! ;) :P
Does anyone know how long the carousel will be there? They say "for the season" but how long is that? We will be there in September and I am hoping it will still be there to see. Thank you!
