Hello, I'm visiting prague in november 7-11. Could you please suggest what clothes are appropriate with the weather there? Currently, we're still going to the beach in my country. I live in Albania
Why don’t you also comment that after you activate the ticket on the app you have to wait two minutes to be really valid and if they catch you on the entrance they will fine you even if is a system created by them , why don’t you also say that in andel for example you activate your paper ticket on the entrance and need to go downstairs for at least one minute and sometimes wait for 5 minutes metro that makes you use 25 out of the 30 minutes that you bought. If you don’t tell the truth your video has 0 credibility, you do a good work spotting the foreigner scams on your country. Why don’t you start to spot the scam the metro from your country do with foreigners? Why don’t you talk about the controllers that act as they are sheriffs or detectives trying to embarace people. I am waiting for that video.

Anybody else thinks every city/capitol needs a guy like this? He must be in line for some tourism award surely! All I rememeber from Prague is tourists traps but he makes me want to go again
Since watching Honest guide I have been to prague a few times but m yet to see a tourist trap, I am hallf delighted and half dissapointed. I definitely recomment going again, but would recommend the off season.
Me and my brother used the app last time visiting. Got checked 2 times in the metro. The guys looked partly grumpy that we had a ticket and partly impressed we used the app.
Yep, they're scumbags who get paid based on how many fines they collect, so they have a huge incentive to fine anyone if they can, which means they often fine people who should not even be fined, for example if you get a ticket that is printed incorrectly from the machine, which can happen, and it is something a local might not even notice, let alone a tourist. You paid the ticket, punched it in the little ticket puncher, boom, 1000czk fine. Yknow why? Cause fuck you, that's why.
My husband introduced me to your channel, and it’s so varied and interesting, I confess to not being as invested in the scamming stuff, but we watch every Sunday. Never been to Prague but looks beautiful. Your presenting plus the camera work is excellent. Thank you
Arrived in Prague today, without these guys we would have been at a total loss, from the 119 bus to the metro was a breeze. Just need to mention don't use Vodaphone dispensing machine at airport, saw a few people pay but didn't get their data package, rather use the Relay shop upstairs in Terminal 2, thanks guys ,I only paid half price for bus ticket, I am over 60
I just spent four wonderful days in Prague and I used many of The Honest Guides helpful tips. Everything from how to get from the airport to city centre to the best place to change money. I made sure to eat at Linda’s Cafe, (Alfredo Cafe) also U Maleho Glen Irish Pub and had a fabulous hamburger at The Black Dog Cantina. I even had some coffee and cake at Olivers Cafe before riding the old tram. Thank you very much to the Honest Guides for helping me enjoy my first and certainly not my last trip to the beautiful city of Prague.
Well I finally booked. I had to laugh at one review on Airbnb. The guest gave 5 stars saying a short walk from the apartment you'll find a robbery! I switched the auto translate back to original Korean, took a photo, ran it through Google Lens and I learnt that I'll actually find a river 😂
Janek got really awesome vibe !!!! I hardly watch tour guiding videos before I travel. But since this is my first time to the mainland of Europe, I don't want to mess up my short trip and I'm sooo happy to land on Honest Guide!!! A Chinese girl watching from Nairobi, Kenya going to Prague in 10 days!!!!!!!! Thanks for the tips which are very much needed!!!! Thanks guys!!!!
I haven't been there in a couple of years, so the features might have changed a little, but the PID app is soooooo awesome. You can also buy single tickets for a set amount of time (which the app tracks for you) and you can plan a trip and the app figures out which tram/bus/etc to take and tracks the trip and all the stops for you. Hands down one of the most useful apps I've ever used anywhere. And big thumbs up for daily menus!
Oh and the Technical Museum was a neat find, went there based on your suggestion! Lots of people were in the main hall with the plane, trains, and automobile, but the sides of the building had so much more neat things. My favourite part was the astronomy section with all the old telescopes! And NO ONE was there
Would be wonderful if you made a guide to the Christmas markets as the season is quickly approaching. I will be one of the tourists that will visit them and would really really appreciate some tips and tricks like which markets are better, how to get there, public transport during that time, etc.
We went to the zoo for our first time last month and it's SOOO COOL! And it's massive! We are from Cincinnati and we thought our zoo was big but this place blew us away lol. Plus walking in the open bird enclosures was fun, and the wallabies was neat too!

About the National Bank exhibition. There is a mandatory security check before entering the bank floor. So just don't get angry if they try to turn you away. They might ask you about the reason for entering, just tell them you are going to see the exhibition.
I have been to Prague many times over the years. Always some fine tips to get from the Honest Guides. In this episode I think it shows what fun they have making the episodes. See you all in Prague in November !
If you go to CAMP, make sure you check out the Emmaus Monastery where Janek is standing on the terrace and is just a 1 minute walk. The original towers of the monastery were damaged during the war and rebuilt in a modern style.
Another thanks to Janek & Honza for this video, and a hugh thank you to the people of Prague for having free over 65 transport - other cities of the world wake up this is a massive plus point for bringing in us pensioners. I was a bit wary that this was not going to be applicable to tourists but yes all transport (trams, buses, the underground and even the funicular up Petrin Hill) was FREE! The service is excellent, plenty of options to get you around the city, its clean, the people are polite (even in the morning rush hour) and the majority obey the rules - no pushing and shoving to get on like the dreaded London underground. Well done Czech Republic you can be proud of your transport system.
Restaurace Stoleti. Great value 165 CZK (6.7€) for daily special for beef stew or chicken schnitzel. 5 minute walk from Charles Bridge. Cheaper than the cafe bistro 19 nearby. Fast service. Free tap water given (if with some surprised look from the waiter). Went at 1:30 pm so may not do special after lunch time.

I'm here at Prague Oct 22th, this video comes right on time! Last night I went to have dinner at Mincovna Restaurant and yes the dinner menu it's a bit expensive, I spent $58 dollar for two plates and 2 drinks. Which it was worthy, the food was delicious. So now I have to go and try their daily menu 😂
Disabled people also ride the metro for free. I was there last year with my best friend, who happens to be blind, and we were admonished by a fare inspector because my friend has a pass, he made us go get a refund for him.
@@skylarkblue1I'm afraid only Czechs can have the disabled I'd that is necessary for free travel😕 I don't think most inspectors would bother anyone visibly disabled but they would demand the ID from an invisibly disabled passenger. International disabled IDs don't count.
I visited Czechia back in 2010 and really enjoyed it. As friends ask me for advice about touring Prague I now send them to your website. Great Job Guys!
What an effin great video! I wasted sooooo much time using Chat GPT to plan my trip to Prague, which I won’t be doing again, I will comment again after my trip
If I ever get to Prague, I'd love to visit some of the places you've shown on your channel. I really enjoyed the bank exhibits with the expensive gold coin and gold bar. That 8 ton door was impressive too.
i may not be over exaggerating when i say that this guy maybe attracting at least 10% of the tourists to Prague. And I have been following him for like 3 years now and one day I will plan a wonderful trip and come to Prague..... It would be amazing if i could meet you guys🤩🤩🤩🤩
An EXAMPLE of the daily menu. I will not name the restaurant, but let's say, it's in Prague - Zizkov 😊 Page is in czech, google searching phrase "Denní menu Prague", here translated: Monday 5.2.2024 (US February 2nd, 2024) Onion soup 49 CZK (~2€, 2.1US$) 1st Salad with shredded vegetables and cheddar cubes and vinaigrette 149 Kč (~6€, 6.5US$) 2nd. Guston burger with tomato, pickle, shallot and fries with ketchup 159 Kč 3rd. Chicken thigh with mashed potatoes 159 Kč 4th. Fried cheese with fries and tartar sauce 169 Kč
Another food based discount is with Bageterie Boulevard (a kind of chain that sells sub-like sandwiches all over Prague) - each day one specific type of Baguette is cheaper - its their version of the Daily Menu. But definitely love a lot of the tips here, I used a lot of them when I lived in Prague.
I've wondered why and how public mass transport is free in Portugal and Spain, but now I have to ask why and how is it free in Prague too? Because in the Nordic countries, a fee has always been requested for the use of public transport, i.e. the ticket, and for example here in Finland, a local bus ticket is around 4 euros within the A zone (can vary depending on the city) and gets more expensive the further you go (B, C, D and E price zone, the ticket price increases by one or half a euro, depending on the city). And the duration of the ticket is one hour, and the price includes one additional ride, for example for a bus change. Of course, we also use travel cards which are rechargeable once a month, for example in Finland the A zone card costs around 60-80 euros per month (previously 40-60 euros but they just raised the prices) but with an A zone card you cannot travel to B zone (and vice versa with the B zone card) because you need an AB zone card which costs twice as much because you pay for two different travel zones (and triple the price with the ABC zone card and so on).
On a previous vlog. You introduced me to the Scoutski Institute around the corner from the astronomical clock . Great location Great prices. Went there during Christmas markets. Prices were very reasonable And supports Scouting. (I am an Eagle Scout) I hope more people utilize this great resource 😊
Man, thanks so much for your great and positive videos. I'm from Germany and I've been to Prague 3x already, but this just wants me visit again soon. Greetings!
Hany Bany near Staroměstská offers Happy Hour - tuplák (1 l) of beer for the price of normal 0,5 l - every day from 3 to 4 pm 😉 favourite bar of nearby studying people
Also find accomodation that is far from the city center. On my two visits to Prague I staid in pensions that were a 10 minute bus ride and a 10 minute metro ride away from the city center and it was soooo cheap. One went for 24€/night and the other for 27€/night. They were all very cozy, clean, beautifully decorated and perfectly safe with very pleasent owners. One was Pension u Báti in Libuš (the cheaper one) and the other was Pension Inka in Řeporyje.
I was considering the Prague Visitor Pass for the convenience but, knowing that the towers are the main things I want to see, I'll instead be saving a lot of money by buying that nine tower pass instead! Thank you, Janek!
Never been to Prague and it's unlikely that I'll ever go - I'm 40 and havent even set foot in Europe yet - but I really like your channel and I'm impressed by how much you know about your city. I kinda want to do something similar for my city actually!
WOW! I love your energy, all the wonderful free things I can do. I will be there in June! Thanks a million!!! I will come back to this youtube video again.
Honestly the daily menu is often better than the regular food - especially the sauces and soups because they prepare them in large bathech and slow cook them. As a Czech, I nearly always choose the daily menu. The drawback is that, unless it is a vegan restaurant, they are mostly meat options or sweet options (which contain milk/butter).
Oh boy, I was in an apartment very close to the national bank and I didn't know about it 😢 but a curious fact I found at its walls, there was Chopin's house where the national bank is nowdays.
Also you can see for free the Old Jewish Cemetery without paying the entry free. From the opposite side of the cemetery 3 17. listopadu, you can see the graves from a small window
"I dont know any place that have happy hours". About one minute later in the video "if you come on hour before closing you will get discount" The camera shot on the discount "Šťastná hodinka" :D :D :D
Thank you so much for your amazing videos! Your tips and advice on traveling in Prague are incredibly helpful. I appreciate all the effort you put into sharing such valuable information. Keep up the great work! ☺️
Random fact: The Spanish currency before the Euro was the "Peseta", so I found it funny watching a Czeck note with "pet set" written on it. It turns out it means "500".
Thanks guys. Local here. I love museums. There's a multi-museum pass that you can get for a mega discount that's just come out. HOWEVER, I didn't know about the CNB exhibition, and I play piano every weekday morning in The Grand Mark (100m away), so thank you!
Got to Prague again today and while I could be wrong I think I saw you walking down the street, and I whipped my head around in my bolt to double check the face😂 fun fact, today I was at the cafe at the historical part of the main train station and I’m going to assume the foreigner tax still exists bcs even tho I ordered from the English menu, I ordered it (even in my barely passable Czech) I paid less. It should have been about 220cz crowns according to the menu with 10% gratuity include but I only paid about 160. This isn’t the first time I’ve been given a discount or even free stuff from ppl just happy that I put in a decent effort ❤ love Prague
Hei! Thank you for hte info! I plan on visiting Prague soon, so this comes in handy :D A question about Lítačka app: Any card can be used? I currently live in Norway and in order to use the Public Transportation App, I need a Norwegian Card, because those are the only ones accepted.
If you are over 65, do you just ride the transportation without a ticket until someone comes and asks you to prove your age? How does it work? I’m going in a week and a half and it’s my third time to Prague. Really excited and love your channel!
Hi! thank you for great videos. I have visited Prague 7-8 times but still watch your videos before going there 😃Can you please make a video how to spend new year day (31st of December) in Prague? I have booked a trip but now struggling to find affordable anything))) Thank you in advance🥰
I am over the age of 65 and will be in Prague next month. I am glad that I get to ride public transportation for free, but do I still have to show a senior ticket of just show proof of age?
Yes, children under 15 have public transport for free. BUT(!!!) When they are 10 and more (in trains 6 and more), they have to have some ID card with photo and date of birth. E.g. a library card is not enough. And it can be problem by foreign childrens. And more: When you are over 15 and under 18, your ID card is enough to 50 % discount off normal fare (this same fare, like over 60 and under 65 years).

Yes. 100%. J and H are international treasures!
He should hire people around the world, teach them how to do what he does, and make a profitable business out of it.
It's so worth going again being aware of what is worth it and what is a tourist trap. Probably my favourite place I've visited

It's up to us to explore that map.

I was considering the Prague Visitor Pass for the convenience but, knowing that the towers are the main things I want to see, I'll instead be saving a lot of money by buying that nine tower pass instead! Thank you, Janek!
You missed free museums like St. Cyril & Methodius Cathedral: Heydrich Terror Memorial , Aviation Museum Kbely and The Army Museum Žižkov
Never been to Prague and it's unlikely that I'll ever go - I'm 40 and havent even set foot in Europe yet - but I really like your channel and I'm impressed by how much you know about your city.
I kinda want to do something similar for my city actually!
Why not? Try a flight, everyone talks in English, don't worry, You can handle it ❤
Oh my god, you just saved me SO much money! Thank you!
WOW! I love your energy, all the wonderful free things I can do. I will be there in June! Thanks a million!!! I will come back to this youtube video again.
The national war/army museum is also free and a really nice one.
With all these tips, how can you not love this channel?
Ever since I watch your videos I wanna go to Czech Republic.
The (Honest Guy) the GOAT🔥✨👏
Amazing ancient architecture.
I have been to Prague so many times but have not realized the daily menus are something to look out for.
Wow you have such good tips! That app seems like a great idea. And the daily meals. Thank you so much
Oh boy, I was in an apartment very close to the national bank and I didn't know about it 😢 but a curious fact I found at its walls, there was Chopin's house where the national bank is nowdays.
Šťasná hodinka neexistuje... Štastná hodinka v 7:50 :am i joke to you?
Also you can see for free the Old Jewish Cemetery without paying the entry free. From the opposite side of the cemetery 3 17. listopadu, you can see the graves from a small window
I was pleasantly surprised 👍🏻 that it's possible to buy my book! Wooo hoo! Brighton and Hove Albion rule
"I dont know any place that have happy hours". About one minute later in the video "if you come on hour before closing you will get discount" The camera shot on the discount "Šťastná hodinka" :D :D :D
My Mom is 70 years old. She could use the public transport for free.😊 Unfortunately my kids are over 3 years old.
Under 15 years old…still free too.
Step 1 - Make new babies
Step 2 - Profit?
Best think about daily menu is much quicker then meal from big menu.
I miss daily menu so much... (moved to the UK a few years ago, food here sucks, people eat sandwich for lunch...)
thank you again guys!
Nextbike bikes are free with Litacka the same as Rekola.
The military museum is free and it's amazing. It's huge and there so much interesting artefacts there

Would you be interested in practical exercises?

Thank you so much for your amazing videos! Your tips and advice on traveling in Prague are incredibly helpful. I appreciate all the effort you put into sharing such valuable information. Keep up the great work! ☺️
You just bring super infos! Thanks a lot!😊😊😊
There are a lot of offers for students with an ISIC card :D
12:00 4K projectors projecting old black and white films 😄
Those films are analog. :) They are much higher resolution than 4K.
I'm visiting Czech for 3 weeks during summer. But it feels like im gonna stay in Czech for rest of my life.
Random fact: The Spanish currency before the Euro was the "Peseta", so I found it funny watching a Czeck note with "pet set" written on it.
It turns out it means "500".
*My friend introduced me to your channel. It’s so interesting. Your presenting is excellent. Thank you*
love the content. Are you going to be restocking your websites store with your book again?
I had no idea you can use Litacka for museum discounts. How do know which museums have it?
That safe room is actually used in a bank robbing game called "payday 2". thats pretty cool to see ^^
Hei! Thank you for hte info! I plan on visiting Prague soon, so this comes in handy :D
A question about Lítačka app: Any card can be used? I currently live in Norway and in order to use the Public Transportation App, I need a Norwegian Card, because those are the only ones accepted.
Great tips, I've added that bank exhibition to my list and cheap food is always good
The free bike sharing is also valid for the grey/blue "nextbike" bikes, and the bikes are vastly superior imo!
If you are over 65, do you just ride the transportation without a ticket until someone comes and asks you to prove your age? How does it work? I’m going in a week and a half and it’s my third time to Prague. Really excited and love your channel!
Janek: "We don't have happy hours here!". The very next place he shows: "šťastné hodiny!"
I have all of this czech commemorative banknotes and it is amazing to see them in museum too!
2:03 a happy door 🙂
Went to Prague last month, it’s a great place with some beautiful locations- even with the swarms of wasps everywhere 😂
you need to eat so much cotton candy!😂
Hi! thank you for great videos. I have visited Prague 7-8 times but still watch your videos before going there 😃Can you please make a video how to spend new year day (31st of December) in Prague? I have booked a trip but now struggling to find affordable anything))) Thank you in advance🥰
watching this as I just got home from 4 days Prague 😂😂😂
too much too late😂🫢
Army museum is also free amazing museum from 1400-1989 cafe on top floor
I am over the age of 65 and will be in Prague next month. I am glad that I get to ride public transportation for free, but do I still have to show a senior ticket of just show proof of age?
Yes, children under 15 have public transport for free. BUT(!!!) When they are 10 and more (in trains 6 and more), they have to have some ID card with photo and date of birth. E.g. a library card is not enough. And it can be problem by foreign childrens.
And more: When you are over 15 and under 18, your ID card is enough to 50 % discount off normal fare (this same fare, like over 60 and under 65 years).
11:30-2:00 daily menu, Poledni denni menu
to je mega funny se na tohle koukat v angličtině po českém videu.
