- "Those Who Fight Further", also known as "Fight On!" or "Still More Fighting", is the boss battle theme for Final Fantasy VII. It was composed by Nobuo Uematsu in the original game (1997) as well as in the Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020).
This is a combined extended soundtrack. One track which has been used in promotional videos for Final Fantasy VII Remake and the other from a live orchestra recording.
The visuals are from promotional videos released by Square-Enix.

Probably didn't expect the two guys putting up that much of a fight. You'll notice how the fight grows more intense the longer it goes on, it's basically going to more and more extreme measures against them.

They’ll save some of the soundtrack for later instalments I’d imagine, I think we’ll hear some version of One Winged Angel but I reckon J E N O V A gets saved for the next game

Haha, genuinely something that crosses my mind, I’m only 30 but regularly think if I died before it released it would be bloody typical. But after completion I’m going have to live another fair few years to get parts 2 & I assume, 3, and then Crisis Core R. There’s so much living I have to do. Bravo Square, everything about this just looks superb.

I think that is a song saver for me honestly! After listing to the regular theme, I was surprised at how close to the original it was! I think this boss theme does some pretty strong justice for the original as well, but I think the original boss theme had a bit "cooler" of a start up.
But, honestly, everything after 1:10 really sounds like an enhanced version of the original, so I'm so stoked to re-download the entirety of the FF7R soundtrack just like I did for the original so many years ago lol.

Eh. Kinda wish it was more “metal-y.” This sounds really good, but I think it would have been even better if they retained more of the original.
When it gets to actual melody of the boss theme, it feels really weak and the intro does nothing to help that. I hope other themes make up for this

The problem with the metal version is that it simply doesn't go with some of the bosses. Like, it sounds so weird fighting dragons and demons to heavy metal.

Love how the melody is passed between sections of the orchestra. And when it hits the trumpets!!! (even though they miss the note... which kinda makes it even better somehow)

I know exactly what you meant by this, but just as a fun fact for you: at a certain number (I think it is around 30 or 40) adding violins to the orchestra doesn't actually increase the volume or the width of the sound. I think it was Giuseppe Verdi, who first discovered this, he LOVED huge orchestras. And if I remember correctly, he first discovered this with brass instruments (obviously with brass the maximum number is much lower).
And as a side note (no pun intended, lol), I love this piece. As a violin player I might be a little bit biased, but honestly every single instrument in this sounds amazing.

The original with the combination of electric Guitar and keyboard was such a striking sound I can still hear it in my head 20 years later - this version, while it is similar, is smoothed out too much and sounds like something you can hear in any big game or marvel movie these days.
The game still looks amazing though, I'd not want to miss out on it just because the music was changed

At the start it didnt sound like the original, but after 0:55 u finally realize u were listening to the old song LUl
This song should make me explode with fighting energy, but it's more like generic background music, like, super tame, kinda mellow even. It's a decent orchestration and I can appreciate that but I'unno. I've had a few decades to see and hear much better remixes. Hell, even the original gets me more pumped for a fight
TBH I've never been a HUGE fan of the boss theme from FF7. Even the original sounds lame IMO 🤷♂️

Could there be a chance that every single boss (excluding J-E-N-O-V-A and Sephiroth) could have their own arrangement of this song? The gameplay of the Scorpion Sentinel boss theme sounded like Those Who Fight Further and mixed it in with Bombing Mission in the second half, though Those Who Fight Further can still be heard. It would be awesome though if it had multiple arrangements specialized toward a single boss.
I wonder if Those Who Fight will have different arrangements, with the one in the E3 trailer being the Midgar / Shin-Ra / S.O.L.D.I.E.R. Battle Theme. Though the soundtrack is probably going to be four+ Blu-Ray Audio discs.
that would be interesting. There seems like there will be versioning on battle music, so I could see it happening with the specially-themed boss battles. I'd be fine with Jenova being like this since its a recurring fight, but not Jenova Complete, not One Winged Angel, and not the Seraph Sephy battle theme either. They only happen one time. I wanna hear just their theme in those cases.
Jish Yeah, I agree. One Winged Angel can stay the same, but for Jenova Complete, I would like something similar to the original, but with multiple phases. Possibly the same for One Winged Angel. But I’m fine with the original tracks.

Kinda hate that this song is impossible to find in the Spotify Remake soundtrack (I think they call it Scorpion Sentinel instead of the original name), but you at least get some arranges as a bonus which are The Airbuster and The Arsenal.
This song is 100x better than Let the Battles Begin (fitting since it´s a boss theme) but damn they did a good job of hiding it!
Don't get me wrong, this sounds awesome, the composition is put together near perfectly, but I would have preferred if they focused more on electrical instruments for the remake theme. As much as I love orchestra music, there are some themes where going a different direction seems more appropriate. In this case, the use of electrical in the boss theme really fits the environment of FFVII. Especially in Midgar - makes the environment and villains feel more... "polluted", as most are in the game. That's one of the things I loved about the original theme.
Again, I do think this sounds very nice, and I'm aware that not all of it is the theme that we hear in the demo, but this does sound more like how it might actually sound completed.
But who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us when the first part of the game is completed and released.

I think fans are thinking that every song will have a 1:1 remade song for the Remake however, after listening to 15's ost, they had like 10 battle themes so I would expect Uematsu to make several variations of the battle theme (perhaps even a more rock style song).

What you heard on E3 might just be 1 version, it was more a like a remix of boss theme and bombing mission which is the actual song in the original when fighting the Scorpion.
@@MaxBraver555 yeah, I did notice the remix of the bombing mission theme in there, took me a little bit to remember that theme played during that battle in the original, so I really do love that! I could definitely see it being just one of a few versions too. All around though I love the idea of this version, the remixing and the composing all around is perfect. I just still think it would've sounded even better with more electrical instruments. Again yeah, this very well could just be one version, I'm almost certain it is. It'll be exciting to hear more of the soundtrack!

Expect many variations of this theme since this game will be 4 or 5 different releases. The only thing we are getting next March is the Midgar arc.
I believe the number of episodes for the complete FF7 remake will be 3 or 4 max.
I doubt the devs would want to drag it out longer than that. Starcraft 2 was an episodic game as well and it was released in 3 parts.
As good as this new version is I like the original better still.

Can someone enlighten me as to what the name of this track is in the ost of the Remake? As to where it can be heard in the game? This is the absolute best version of the soundtrack that exists, however, there's so much version of it I can't keep up! There's the Scorpion version, the airbuster one! I need help from you fellah's out there! ;)

This one is a custom remix/arrangement done by me! I took existing orchestral recordings of 'Let the Battles Begin' and remixed them together in Adobe Audition! Glad you enjoy it ❤️

I absolutely love the 1st buildup from the remake version, (basically the only part they kept intact) but I absolutely abbhore what they did with the new one.. They kept no other parts from the original melody.. I can't understand why they'd call it the same title..

This isn't the true remake of Those Who Fight Further. The proper version is used in the Arsenal and Crimson Mare fights. This is the Airbuster version.
