besides good tires, steel braided brake lines are one of the most important upgrades you can do to a bike! i just got an '05 CBR600rr and I'm throwing steel braids on it right away! it's already got exhaust and all that done. man, what a sweet bike! lol. i love the 05-06 and 07-08's! excellent video man!
when braking with stock rubber cables, they expand so much, feeling mushy and less responsive, steel braided is so much more precise and thet last forever! lol... plus they look sick! lol
YES they do! Between the braided lines and my gear indicator I cannot tell which has been my favorite mod. The feeling of the brake lever is so much better.
Did you use the frame mounted line clamp from Galfer? The thing puts the lines between the frame and triple tree. The lines get pinched when you turn the bars to the left. To fix it modify the oem clamp to have room for both lines and use that. There is a cavity for the lines on the frame and oem clamp keeps them in there and not pinched! Be careful!
are you sure the banjo bolt only need to torqued 8 ft pound? on my Honda the service manual calls for 25 ft pound torque on those banjos, you might need to double check
nice man ! .. I track my cbr but it's not fully a track bike seeing how it's also my daily bike .. I was talking to a national ducati champion and I was asking him about rotors cause I want to stop Hella fast .. anyways he asked me if I had Steele braided lines .. I said no .. he said I should get those but before investing in rotors that can be expensive he said just buy aftermarket break pads .. said they make a ton of difference .. so these two will be my winter project .. do you have oem pads ?
I believe my front are original, but I did replace the rear (not that it needed it). I agree with him you'll be surprised at the different the stainless lines make. It's great for the street and I bet great for the track too. I highly recommend galfer, my friend upgraded his lines too but he used a cheaper brand and they didn't look as good.
I see you are using shorter clutch and brake levers. Could you tell me which ones? My Barracuda levers on the CB1000R are uncomfortable and think I want those shorter ones as well. Thanks again!
just want you to know that you got a youtuber here learning off you ;) btw, what are those mirrors? I was thinking to change mine due to the vibration (as all bikes). I bought Hel braided lines, will be fitting them in once we get out of the winter. and also, you have a gear indicator, was it difficult to install?
No lol that was some footage from back in August. I just had to stick something in there for the voice over. If you look closely you can see I still had the stock lines in. lol
Hey, was the plug in the middle of your triple clamp stock on your bike or is it from the 2013? (8:50 lower edge of the video) My bike does not have it and I am searching which one I should take. Thanks. Mike
@HeroRR what is the length of the lines? I got a pair of Hel lines and I think they are too long for my bike but I want to make sure before I go and argue with the store.
I've got an orange set of Hel lines to put on my cbr1000rr, your video has given me the encouragement I needed to finally fit them 😁!

They make that big of a difference? If so I might have to get some for my 600rr!
YES they do! Between the braided lines and my gear indicator I cannot tell which has been my favorite mod. The feeling of the brake lever is so much better.

When bleeding brakes you're supposed to bleed furthest away caliper first, then nearer, then master cylinder last.

Where did you purchase the black cap for your center stem ring? I have been looking for that item all over the place.

I think I have about 5 different 10 mm wrenches floating around somewhere in the garage too!
