Right! It really is, they stare at a bait so long probably off camera and then come in for the swoop. So fun to watch and never see it coming!

Had the same thing happen early ice up near Duluth. A lot of lookers but they just stared at it and took off. Tight lines 👌🏻 you’re the reason i got an aqua Vu. Love your content.

They either come in and slam it or they come in slow and just stare it down and scare away any other fish you are trying to catch.

I wonder if your jigging bait was calling the pike in, but when they saw it, it didn't look right. Maybe you should have changed colors at that point. Also, i would have kept the perch and used him for pike bait. Perfect size. They sure weren't interested in the sucker minnow. You do have a good place to fish, though. I'm still looking for a spot like that.

I use the underwater camera. I will driver a line of holes till I find it.
Why don't you try a lake with burbut, rainbow trout and white fish
We cant fish trout till mid Jan. But if I knew of burbot spots I would fish them for sure! I have seen some cool underwater footage of them schooled up.
Do they make 360° underwater cameras?
Aqua Vu kind of does. It has 4 cameras with a split screen so you can see N,S,W,E.

seems to call them in so you think they want it moving but never know.
Minnows tend to freeze when they see a predator; if a pike stares at your lure, tail down, they are ready to strike - try stop jigging@@BryanProkuski
