Same thing happened to me,this songs fits perfectly with the Battle system since the fights are very short and kind of hard. It adds a good amount of tension and hype to them.
Torn between this and the SNES version. What makes this version better: -The phrase at 0:22 is carried by the flute section as opposed to the brass. -The addition of the chromatic, "bumblebee" bit the string section does at 0:52 adds a lot of tension. What makes the original better: -Beefier sounding kick drum. -Ballsier sounding brass section. -Bass guitar riff doesn't drop out at 0:26. Also, this version seems to be tuned slightly sharper than the original's key of A, but it's not quite at Bb, which is...kind of odd.
This entry is definitely underrated between the main DQ series, and it's no secret why! Before it came the iconic and fan favorite V, and after it it's the amazing titan of a game VII. This game needs more love.
@BadMunckY I think the reason the tempo was increased is because of how much faster the battles in the DS remakes are, especially on the fastest text speed. The battle music would feel too slow otherwise.
Royal Crustle why'd you stop playing? I personally stopped because I couldn't get into the unicorn place. Years later older me realized I needed the ultimate key.
@JeanKP14 Actually you're right. Playing the DS version right now, and it has the epic feel you'd expect :) the SNES version suffered from a lack of rythm in the battles gameplay-wise too and this is thankfully addressed in the remake. I've been an addict for the past two days lol.
@BadMunckY Actually, The tempo is closer to the Symph Suite. It is pretty fast on there. The reason for the slow down on the SFC is due to limitations.
I got my first DQ6 on snes and unfortunately is was in Japanese, I remember playing the game in circles and memorizing where to go because I dont know japanese. Thank god, the DS version came out and I finished the game at last

This may be my least favorite DQ game, but damn that theme rocks
@Wetlanddenizen I think it would get it if it ever came to the states as originally planned. I hope the sales of DQ IX sways their decision of bringing it over. i would love to add to my ds travel pack
+cpthurme I agree, I seriously cannot wrap my head on how they butchered the DS version of DQVI. DQV did not get this bad of treatment, nor did DQIV. The music in DS version feels like no effort or power was put in, unlike in the SNES version. Those mid sections at 0:06 and 0:09 feel so weak and lazy. While the SNES version makes these powerful beats. The SNES version of the soundtrack also has this higher pitch, sharpness, and echo which give it a lot more style and memorability.
Doesn't seem that bad although I'm the sort of person who prefers that when a soundtrack is remixed that it gets a orchestrated remix which is something a ds game wasn't capable of. When it comes to being an American Dragon Quest fan Beggars can't be choosers.
SNES version sounds so much better. Don't know why they use such harsh and unpleasant tones in the newer DQ games. And no it's not "traditional", because it sounds far worse than the older games. MIDI music doesn't have to sound bad - just listen to the DQ4 PS1 music for proof of that.
DQ IX has probably the worst battle theme of DQ series ever. I can't even play it cause of the weak soundtrack. VI is one the games in the series which has good soundtrack.
I swear this song grows on you. At first I wasn’t a fan of the battle theme, but now I absolutely love it.
fa sho fa sho

The flutes at 23 seconds in solidified this for me.

Exactly. It's a much better arrangement. Flute was a far better choice.
Heh. Heh. Bumblebee
the key is microtonal?
I agree with you, @@yazarc! It's better to use a flute!
@@jeremy8473 it is and it hurts my brain a little
DQVI is probably one of my favourite, if not then at least my favourite DS remake :P I love the battle theme a LOT

This game needs more love.
that and it had to contend with ff6. this is probably my favorite "classic" entry in the series but lord, the cards were stacked against it.
It also had to compete to with chrono trigger 0-0
@@LezSpringfieldThere is no competing with Chrono Trigger, only bowing before it (I love DQ so no disrespect to dq6 here)
@@ericleonhart9318 its ok but its not god smh
I find the premise of dream realms that this game presented to be INCREDIBLY interesting.
One of my personal favorite Battle themes in any RPG
So when Nappa died he Took Gohan with him and they both ended up in a far off world...i can dig I love how Akira can only draw one style lol
@BadMunckY I think the reason the tempo was increased is because of how much faster the battles in the DS remakes are, especially on the fastest text speed. The battle music would feel too slow otherwise.
How can a battle theme sound so epic? Godbless whoever made this XD
what a great remake. Everything the original's got, but more and cleaner.
The first couple of seconds with that bass reminds me of the battle themes from Final Fantasy 1-6 and 9.
This....This was in the Your story movie and it was AWESOME

Been looking for this for years, hell yeah
My first Dragon Quest. :D
Never finished this, but I'm hyped for VIII and XI to come out. :D
Weak, absolutly weak. You should play more dragonquest and less pokemon. Pokemon is a baby game.
Schuppen Gerd >_>
I highly recommend V if you ever get a chance to play it, V's story is great.

@@PapierDeutscher there's nothing wrong with playing pokemon lmao
Peak Dragon Quest Battle theme
I love this song the symphonic version is great to
First 10 seconds are the catchiest parts
Super Saiyan Blue goku before dbs.
Congratulations! You fucking called it!! >>> ruclips.net/video/gkM35hVcZjc/видео.html
Blue Evolution Vegeta before DBS
Gogeta Blue before DBS
Looks more like vegito to me
This sounds like a speedrun Strat
Pretty late, but I got a better one: Super Saiyan Blue before it was cool
Carver really was an early MvP with that free AoE, wasn't he?
If this ever started playing randomly in the real world It would trigger some sort of fight-or-flight-response in me.

AWESOME! best theme in the dq series

Better version compare to the mobile version.

Lol he is erik from dq 11 Also in the game there is an item called lorelei s harp item from this game lol
I made the enemies attacks and the battle speed go with the battle and it felt gooood
@SoopahUltraTV Yeah, it came out in Jan 2010 there.
ESTO ES UN SUEÑO DE ARTES MARCIALES (?)
@LimitBreakZero thats because the person who does the character art in this game does it for DBZ too.
The first few seconds are so bad then it becomes amazing, that sucks, because the beginning is what you hear the most
@Wetlanddenizen I think it would get it if it ever came to the states as originally planned. I hope the sales of DQ IX sways their decision of bringing it over. i would love to add to my ds travel pack
Oh hey look it's Erik from dragon quest 11
Dare you slander the name of hero
It was only a joke I'm sorry plz don't crucify me
@BWEEBLAST Well it is the same artist that made Dragon Ball that did the Dragon Quest characters (Akira Toriyama). So you tend to see similarities :)
This version has more of an "orchestral" feel
Definitely like the DS version of this theme more.
Agree. A true collection. Better than SNES and iOS/Android.
I like Terry and this music that's all I like
6は職業のシステムがいいね。
Hell yeah your right i would.
Some metal slimes drew near
best DQ battle theme
3 and 5 are better. This is my 3rd fav battle theme in series.
The hero could be related Erik from DQ11 :P
Budgie Wudgie they actually made a reference to that in one of the tockle quests
Dare you slander the name of hero
Budgie wudgie crononically DQ11 is the first dragon quest
Do you know that dragon quest is unrelated to dragon ball but same character designs
Yeah, so no need to bring it up
@ThePogeymanzepic No you're not. I like Dragon Quest 6 the best too. Simply for having the most amazing DQ music. :) After that comes DQVIII for me.
The Hero is uncomfortably muscled.

Got this and 1-9 thru emulation on hacked 3DS 😌👍
this and DQ 8's battle theme r the best but i do like the snes version better

Just got this game and the previous guy named his character Jonathan. Do I smell a JoJo reference...?
VI is the longest wun i plaid o.o
What the fuck did I just read
I prefer the original theme with a lower tempo too.
This game has the best battle theme in DQ series, but the worst boss theme.

Yah, for the most part I actually do prefer the music in the remakes, but this one is a bad apple.

no?
You would want to listen to this over and over and over. I on the other hand, would not.
Is it just me, or do half the protagonists in a DQ game look like they should be from DBZ?
This may be the reason I'm not going to buy DQ 6...........
In my opinion the SNES version of this theme can tend to get a little annoying.
Meh. Sounds better on SFC. Still not bad, though...
@StrangeClams Nah...Main char of DQ5 looks worse(da game is best in da serie tho)
DQ IX has probably the worst battle theme of DQ series ever. I can't even play it cause of the weak soundtrack. VI is one the games in the series which has good soundtrack.
Why does this song sound so trash on iOS?
Because the ios is orchestra which didn't age well.
