Real estate speculative funds, of those that buy assets by the thousands to retain them, or rent them and then sell them, have begun to buy thousands of hectares to bring their investment systems to farms, especially in the areas of Extremadura, Andalusia and Portugal.
What are they looking for? Irrigated farms to improve and increase the yield of the land, subleasing it to specialist companies or agricultural investors with exploitation times normally of 20 years.
This is the story of the last speculative frontier that remained to be conquered: agricultural land.
